All versions of Power FC work with the Datalogit. If you have the earliest version which is 3.11, the Datalogit software doesn't unlock all the parameters. If you buy a brand new unit, you will very most likely get the latest version. The versions I know of are : 3.11, 4.08, 4.09, 4.23, 6.42, 6.43, 6.44, 7.03, 8.02, 8.04. There are no differences in the capability of the units AFAIK.

I see... AP Engineering site had the data on side feed injectors as well, but the site is down and I hadn't saved it. Maybe someone else has.

ROFL... Ooohhh... That's just too much.

Before someone else jumps in, let me say this : Take it to Ben.

Excellent result and a nice graph. Congrats.

putting a 32 gtr power fc in a 33 gtr
Emre replied to ricknismo's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Yep. They are the same, just over the years they came with different versions: 3.11, 4.08, 4.09, 4.23, 6.42, 6.43, 6.44, 7.03, 8.02, 8.04 etc... I ran the earliest model Power FC in my R33 with no problems. -
A 65mm orifice can flow "xxx" litres per minute, under 20 psi supply pressure. 2 x 65mm orifices will flow similar to a single 90mm orifice, which incidentally is the inlet and outlet diameter of the intercooler. (from memory the inlet of the plenum as well) An 80mm orifice will flow "xxx" lt/min @ less supply pressure, so it could be argued that they are less of a restriction. However, what is the benefit of fitting larger AFMs and leaving everything else stock sized ? It would be like expecting HP gain from a 4 inch hotdog on a 3 inch exhaust. lwells, AFAIK, ARC box for a GTR has two filters. One is similarly sized to standart filter, the other is considerably larger. The biggest downfall of them is that, they are not sealed on top. This is judging by the photos on their website.

Mate, An official club is offering you a service and it's up to you to take it, or not. Do you evaluate every single amount you spend (we are talking about a few cents per week here) against what you receive in return...? If you don't drive your car for a few days in a row, do you raise the issue with RTA and ask for fairer registration options...? If you put a buck in a parking meter for an hour of parking, but finish your business in half an hour, do you sit in your car for the other half of the hour...?
-
That's cheeky... very cheeky. I'll let it pass for your own benefit. PI is a very fast track but with more room for error. As long as you are cautious, you will be fine. There is nothing wrong with being cautious, as if you bugger up anywhere on the track, only thing you will damage is your pride. IMO, dangers of motorsport comes with confidence (whether it's founded or not). As you gain confidence, you will be pushing harder and creating more chances for loss of control. For a novice, it's best to compete with yourself, not with others.

It must be different than. Aren't there holes either side, only about 4-5 cm away from the default position...? If yes, haven't you got enough slack to take that up...?
-
If it's the same as the GTR, which i can't see it being any different : Using one of the allen screws attach it to one of the wholes already present. Don't forget to attach the ground wire as well.

what is the weight of R32 & R33 GTR
Emre replied to Zathris's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
I've never weighed one but from what is documented, the R34 GTR is slightly heavier than the R33. From memory, the difference is about 10-20 kgs. -

R32 GTR with a 1/3 of a tank of fuel. R33 GTR with a 1/3 of a tank of fuel. -
Tisk, tisk, tisk... Roy, it's because of haterz like you that we are behind in power, compared to our WA bretheren. Unbelievers shall burn in hell says the tuning bible.

That's a very generous offer on your part Andrew, you are a good man. Please make sure Ben is taking some notes, even a close up video footage maybe. I would hate to go there in a couple of weeks time to gain 60 rwkw and he forgets how it's all done.
-
Mate... You gotta do what you gotta do. If it means to fly the experts in from WA, so be it. I presume Ben didn't object to the use his dyno for the tune. Than again, if he learns something along the way, he is gaining from all this as well. Will you be aiming for 450 rwkw on 22 psi and pump fuel...? Roy, Good work with the build RB25 mate... You speak like a true poet with that list of mods. If you go halvies with Snowie, you should be able to punch that power out on 10 psi. I am spewing I am not able to make this event, hence my lack of input in this thread, but should be at the next one. Have a great time fellas.
-
I don't think so pal. I am able to differentiate the two, may be you are not. The figures I gave you in the other thread were all rw readings. The point I've been trying to make for a very long time is that, there really is no point in quoting dyno figures as they are pretty hard to compare from one to another. Most of the times, they give us comparable results, but often we find ourselves in a debate defending power claims. Funnily enough, all the threads with claims of power are originated from WA. Do you have a need to prove yourselves that much that we read about your extra ordinary achievements regularly, in the name of helping other people. 600hp, You have a very impressive list of mods there mate, no expenses were spared by the look of things. Regarding future mods, (like a plenum) I would suggest you to do you homework carefully and make sure you are not misunderstanding anything. 22 psi @ 2500 rpm is extremely dramatic. I just find it very puzzling that Nissan would go through a lot of R&D and develop a multi throttle system on their flagship, for people to dismiss it. How many other manufacturers can you name to develop a 4-6-8 throttle intake on a mass produced vehicle...?

In the risk of opening up another can of worms here, I haven't experienced any difference in power output between 2WD and 4WD dynos. Admittedly, I haven't been on a 4WD dyno in the past three years, so I am not sure if there has been major differences in the software.

Road tuning your R33 with PFC. How do you work around a PFC?
Emre replied to Guilt-Toy's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
The dyno itself doesn't measure your AFRs, the AFR meter is used which is linked with the dyno software. The Autronic ones cost a fair amount as mentioned above, but there are some cheaper alternatives out there for the interested individual. I've been meaning to get one of these for quite some time now, but haven't got around to it. -
powerc tune - are these results safe/ok ?
Emre replied to paulr33's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Well, some tuners may see it as their own propety, even though you are paying for the tune. Best is to check before proceeding even though it's not very common. It would also stop curious fingers playing with the settings just to see what it does. Worst case scenario is when the cars change ownership; I've read about a couple of dramas in the past. -
powerc tune - are these results safe/ok ?
Emre replied to paulr33's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Not quite mate, The correction on the injector menu is to accomodate aftermarket injectors. If you have 550 cc injectors, the correction value is %80. The duty cycle will still read correct, if it shows %92, that means your 550cc injectors are operating @ %92 = 506cc of flow. GunMetal, The hand controller can be locked with a laptop software. It would still monitor, but you wouldnt be able to see and change any parameters on the settings menu. -
Yep, there is one around the corner from RacePace, which Ben uses for the odd job. Unfortunately, I can't remember any details of the business.
-
They are all compatible with the Datalogit software. The only difference is that, Datalogit doesn't unlock all the parameters in the v3.11, which is the first version.

For the sake of your sanity, I'd get the car towed to your preferred mechanic and get all the work done at the same time. If there happens to be any problems in the future, you have one party to deal with. You are about to spend a substantial amount of money in modifications, another $4-500 should not be an issue. If it is, hire a tandem trailer and transport the car yourself. Your list of mods to be performed read spot on. They are pretty much customary these days. 300+ rwkw should not be an issue. Enjoy.
