Greetings,
I have a 5zigen steel system, its a 3" system and it is pretty quiet and delivers a nice note on boost.
However I am intested in knowing if the system I have is good for the application. I am running a RB20 on a 25 turbo and currently the car outputs 235hp atw with a stock dump and down pipe.. I have recently purchased a stainless screamer for the car (awaiting delivery) and I am trying to reduce backpressure in my exhaust system as I would like it to be up to scratch and not be limiting the car.
its a mandrel bend setup which contains a cylinder like muffler where hte cat would be normally and a middle muffler which basically continues as 3" through it and you can see straight through..and leads to a back muffler which is also 3"
so my questions are -
- will replacing the centre mufflers with regular 3" pipes be a worthwhile modification
- will it make it unbarably loud? I dont like a loud exhaust on the fwy making your ears numb
- should I leave it as it is?
- it has been scraping and hitting on the middle muffler anyway and perhaps removing it would increase my ground clearance but then its back to teh noise level again & I am unsure how loud these are with only 1 muffler and no cat..
- is the exhaust too small or is it a correct size for the application, I would like somthn thats going to be like perhaps 250hp - 260atw
thanks - i cant upload pics atm my pc is being a penis
