    M35 Info

That only gives the arx price and calls it a 4 speed I don't know why.
  2. I had just changed the oil too and this can lead to problems I hear if the Jap owner has been remiss in his servicing obligations. I could see no servicing stickers on doors or under bonnet but factory recall badges are where they say they should be. Would like to know while about it just which oil is required for VQ 25 DET. And if it is VVL does that make a difference?
  3. Take out AA mechanical insurance then for 3 years and turbo extension. If it blows you're covered. Good thing is if it does you probably will still be driving it (like I am with mine) while you wait for parts from Japan to arrive.

That's a pretty sweet set of wheels there stagecoach
  5. if it makes you feel better I now face an expensive repair bill for the turbo
  6. I got mine for $NZ13, 700 with only 72K on the clock
  7. not a wagon as such, just plain unusual

    M35 Info

getting a roof rack ain't so easy though and best just to stick with the factory fit works out about the same in price and looks better - at least that's what I've discovered this side of the ditch

    M35 Info

yeah this thread's a good idea another good thing about the m35 is that you can open the tailgate from the inside unlike the older wagon as I recall
  10. bottom left of engine just in front of passenger footwell very awkward to extract it's an engine out job as I've just found out pays to keep an eagle eye on the air filter
  11. Just what is the point of having an ARX just to lower it? Why go to that bother? Why not just buy a standard M35?

    Your Stereo

I had an infinity kappa 12 inch sub in my stag S1 25x and 4 infinity kappa 6 inches plus alpine 400 watt amp and it worked fine although it got in the way and I could do without it occasionally. I made sure it was well secured by three straps and when I was rear ended it stayed firm.
  13. toootaaaalllllyyy b4 my turbo blew I threw it around some winding narrow country lanes in the greasy wet garnished with cowpat slurry and the car was like it was on rails all I had to do was keep on winding on the wheel my guess is it's best to have power on in the turns and just let the awd do the thinking
  14. nope it's still not going that's why the mechs tried to get it off to have a look at it but failed all very frustrating and expensive
  15. No smoke at all that I can see The air filter was filthy and may have been OEM I'm told by turbo experts here that this is a possible cause of turbo failure That little Jap girl's voice in my car seems to pick up on an emptying fuel tank (and so does the screen) so why not cry out for more air? So far I have paid $NZ 600 to have a $30 air filter replaced that I could do myself. Better than forking out 5 grand unnecessarily though. It drove me back to Auckland alright yesterday and the gas consumption is improved (9.6 km's/l, 500 km's on less than 3/4 of a tank) but that may be down to my just having to lay off the thrills. I will seek out some experts here this week and maybe Nissan Japan and keep you posted.
  16. problem is access to bolts at front on turbo is proving impossible in order to remove it no high pitched whistle but an impotent sounding arrrr type sound and no pressure problem developed over weekend I was up Mt Ruapehu and it was sounding rough on mountain road when I backed off the accelerator got back to Rotorua and it packed up on Sunday also the car refused to start at end of day up on the mountain and I had to roll all the way back down to Ohakune 17 km's downhill all the way I'm wondering if trouble with turbos convinced Nissan to go NA back in '04
  17. My turbo is broke it appears (makes a funny noise and no boost pressure apparent) and I've had car only a short while. I forgot to change air filter when I bought and it turns out to be filthy. Whether this is the cause or not I am told by a turbo reconditioner that it is a possible cause. Nissan here in Rotorua (NZ) don't have any experience of this model and are suggesting an engine out in order to remove situation which will prove drastic to my finances. Has anyone here got any idea of an easier way of removing the turbo for inspection purposes?
  18. 564 km's on 67.16 litres combined driving, filled today got an 80 litre tank supposedly but the light was on and the advice on my screen was that I had 40 km's to empty but that doesn't sound right if so
  19. My M35 250 t rs four was 1710 with roughly half a tank of gas and some odds and sods in the back. Weighed it at a police weighbridge so would expect calibrations to be accurate. Interestingly the R32 VW Golf is only a hundy or so kilos lighter.

    Brake Upbrade

Is your Stag an M35? A local dealer told me about this conversion for the M but new rims were needed to accommodate the four pots. They only did the fronts but four rims obviously would be required, which ups the cost considerably.

    Roof Racks

Now can anyone help me re the M35 and fitting a roof rack that is not the Nissan issue one? I tried Thule and they have no standard fittings that suit. Prices are steep if I have to adapt a Thule but I wish to use my Thule fittings that I already have. If I drop the $700 odd that I need for the Nissan one can anybody confirm that it is the satandard Euro sized bar and will suit my attachments? Or can I just get the roof fitting and use my existing bars?

    Roof Racks

I had 135 mm bars on my series 1 and accommodated a 6oo litre top box and a sea kayak if I offset the kayak to one side of the rails, using Thule kayak holders. This gave me no problems and I drove thousands of km's like that loaded up.
  23. I know my series 1 25X had removeable speakers, 6 inch, that my infinity kappas just screwed into the plastic mounting of.
  24. I have the 250t rs4 and it goes like stink. Let's just say that. Pretty much what you can expect from 206 Kw's and 400Nm's, four four to the floor and all that.
  25. rust under the wing mirrors mmmm know the score
