  5. I've got a set of the red/white fender badges for an R32 Mspec. $25+post if wanted
  6. They'll go great with their fully sik 2x12" 'boom box' with flashy lights too. if i had the money to throw away id so buy it just to see how much it takes to pop them.
  7. Awesome. Going to stupid cheap thisarvo then. where does it hook up? under the dash or in the engine bay? i have to pull my dash apart again after installing my stereo on the weekend because i apparently unhooked the power to my turbo timer while i was at it
  8. Keen to finally get out and meet everyone this week so thursday night sounds good. I just spent all weekend installing the sound system and when i hooked up the eclipse amp for the first time at 11 last night it went bang. the fuses didnt blow or anything just the amp. replaced with my crappy boss amp and it worked fine so it aint the wiring. takin it back to maroochy car sound thisarvo. hopefully theyll replace it.
  9. Yeah I've never had that happen before either. I've done heaps of installs and this is the first time I've actually spent money on some decent quality gear and to have this happen really pi$$es me off. I always do everything really slowly and more than tripple check things because I'm always afraid I'll forget something and I did that even more this time since it aint cheap stuff I'm using. I even got my housemates to check everything over a couple of times to make sure it was all correct before connecting the battery. The only other time I've had an amp go was when a mate shorted the battery with a socket wrench. Was his stuff though.
  10. So I just spent all bloody weekend installing my new sound system into my R34. eclipse 2way splits in the doors and then yesterday the headunit and amp. long story short at 11pm last night i connected the battery and the amp buzzed and then produced quite a large amount of smoke I put my crappy $100 boss amp in its place and it worked fine. also tested the ground again and its fine. I put the eclipse amp back in and it worked! WTF? I have disconnected it and am taking it back. better be replaced under warranty. has anyone else had an amp smoke like that and then work fine afterwards? None of the fuses blew. I only had the two front channels hooked up and nothing in the rear channels.
  11. Just started my install today in an r34. damn those plugs are a pain. i have the passenger door off to get that bloody plug out. installing eclipse 2way splits. still deciding whether or not to install the tweeters on the little triangle blank panel on the inside of the mirror or on the A pillar. anyone know how to get that little triangle panel off the door??? EDIT: Never mind.. they just pull off. Got the tweeters mounted (had to grind the screws down to size got the sound deadening done. ready to stick the passenger door back on the car but have to wait for my housemate to wake up to give me a hand. and then on to the drivers side door. yaaaaay hopefully the rest of the install goes easier than the doors.
  12. Any car that gives you the ability to have plenty of legroom (for people over 6ft tall) and you have to tilt the seat quite far back so ur head aint on the roof yet the steering wheel aint telescopic. so i can either sit in a real comfy position and have to have my arms fully outstretched to reach the wheel or have my head an inch off the bloody roof. another one. my old VR bommodore would automatically turn off the headlights when i turn the car off why cant my shiny new r34??? its not that hard surely. and another +1 for flat seats and bad handling. read Ford Festiva (my mum's) as a prime example. makes you feel like your driving a f**kin xmas tree decoration or something, its just a big red ball and it feels like its gonna tip on its roof every time you turn the wheel.
  13. i just bought a near stock (tein suspension) manual r34gtt '98 for $26000+OR but its in really good condition and thats dealership pricing. saw heaps of private sale cars in low $20k's some rough ones for less but I would probably advertise for mid-high $20's and hope you find someone who is willing to fork out a bit more for the pre-done up car. they are out there... all depends how quickly you want to get rid of it. good luck and I'm sure the second you sit behind the wheel of your new GTR youll forget you even owned a gtt
  14. I just did a search in this very forum and found the same answer a couple of times. http://www.autoworx.com.au/bodykits.html heres one of the threads that already covered this. http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/in...&hl=eyelids Next time try using the search button
  15. Daniel 24 Drunken DIY when it comes to any sort of fabrication work. Computer technician so im good at pulling stuff apart n putting it back together again... usually without a handful of leftover bolts at the end
  16. Hope you all had fun on the cruise yesterday. Sorry I didn't make it. Had some mates come up from Brisneyland Saturday night so I was still too drunk to drive come noon yesterday.
  17. Side indicator is awesome. Very original and looks like its meant to be there. The rest aint really to my taste but well put together none-the-less.
  18. Duplicate Post
  19. I was considering getting a better battery myself but left it for later when I can be bothered manufacturing a holder. At the moment ive got bits of wood between the bracket and the battery as the bracket would otherwise crush the little caps on the cells. It feels so horribly dirty and wrong going 'bush mechanic' on and R34Gtt but I was late for work as it was. Will get around to fixing it one day....
  20. My new R34 just did the same thing thismorning. slowly dropped to empty then when i slowed down for a roundabout (yes I actually slow down for them.... most of the time) the needle started moving back up again then as i continued down the road began going down again. So im guessing the sender is at fault as suggested above. I have 2 questions re the sender. 1. will i be able to tell its faulty by looking at it? 2. where do i get a new one and how much should i be expecting to pay? (or should i say how much does the caryard have to pay since its still under that B.S. 2nd hand car warranty thing.)
  21. Just signed up for full comp with JustCar and no undies WTF.... Although they did send out my policy 3 times in a week which I thought a bit strange.
  22. Put me down as a maybe for the cruise to bribie. (might have to work)
  23. I'm getting 11-12L/100K's out of mine. (ive only filled up 3 times though so we'll see how consistent that is in a month or so) Mostly highway driving but regularly on boost otherwise.
  24. Can't say that I have but I do have the Japanese equivalent in my car at the moment and it is a really great system (except the fact that it cant be changed to english nor can I get the Australian maps for the GPS) I would swap it out for the HD3 if i had the money but then again an in car computer might be a better/cheaper option. I spend most of the day checking out car computer setups and I think im gonna go with one of those. bit more complicated but easily upgradeable and customizable. Dunno if I've helped much but if you havent looked at in car computers check them out.
  25. And as for being pulled over by unmarked cars you don't have to pull over unless you are in a safe place - for example an open service station that has security cameras.
