  1. '60 corvette but that would cost a whole lot more so i'd probably still be driving a crappy VR bommodore exec and crying myself to sleep every night
  2. i traced the carpet off the floor in my 34 to make a false floor but its not really a false floor its just a ply wood cutout with a thin layer of foam underneath to stop vibration. i would imagine if i want a false floor i would probably make a foam mould or something of the like. would be a messy process but well worth it coz you can get it real flat and moulded perfectly to the contours of the boot. and it wont be so heavy either
  3. they were annoying me enough to remove them because they were hard up against the speakers. left the middle one in though. that and im keeping all the bits to put back in if i ever sell the car.
  4. mine has been working fine since. only ever did it the once.
  5. if you wanna spend a bit extra get a sub box that is moulded to the corner of the boot. most places have prefabbed ones gonna cost me $350 for one for a 12" sub to go into my r34. And importantly dont forget to put a fuse between the battery and the amp (closer to the battery is better) and if your battery is in the boot then its even easier. and depending on the amp you get for the sub will depend on the gauge of wiring need. 8gauge is pretty normal but higher end amps can take 4gauge and if they can take it you may aswell run it. have fun I always do that stuff myself. It takes me heaps longer but its way more satisfying knowing you did it that just paying someone to do it.
  6. as above yeah get an amp to power the speakers and you probably would have wanted to buy better speakers like some higher end alpine 3 ways or focals or something to get some bass out of 6" speakers. but yeah cheapest option would be to get a 10" sub and an amp to power it. ive got a 12" sony with a boss amp in my boot. total cost $300 it puts out bloody good bass for a $300 setup. so you should be able to get a nice cheap 10" setup that wont take up much boot space at all.
  7. supercheap sell a kit to do the auto off and light sensing for about $25. bit cheaper than the $250 for OEM. bought one last week for my 34 but havent wired it up yet.
  8. subscribed. Just started planing the mods for my 34gtt. planning on combining the looks of the ztune and the mines gtr. definately goin for the ztune rims they look hot where did you buy those replica's? this is gonna look awesome when your done.
  9. the speakers out of the back of mine are 3way 120w carriozerra's theres no adjustable filters, id be buyin new speakers.
  10. Rape is such a harsh word. think of it more as surprise sex! but seriously. better off doing internals to get that sort of power reliably.
  11. clean it as best you can if youve got a big bathtub or something soak the seat with any/all detergents in the house (or possibly the same stuff used for shampooing carpet. and then days/weeks later once the seat is dry put it back in and never never close your windows again. i hope you've learnt a valuable lesson. Animals are food - not pets. Jokes.
  12. My 34 came with carriozerria or something like that in it too. theyre a series of Pioneer speakers. The headunit that came with mine was the same branding. had like 120ish watt rear 6.5" speakers that had no bass at all but had 140's in the front that actually had a bit of bass and mid so i put them in the back and bought splits for the front. if you got the 120W (might be 125 or 130 not sure) 6.5" then they might be the same as what i got. ill have a look for a model number on them when i get home and a look if theres a high pass or anything.
  13. The D stands for Dgood... (It's a silent D)
  14. would want one and will upgrade to a 34gtr one day..... when i have money..... damn i probably wont then
  15. started reading this thread and thought 'bugger ive paid too much and got a s1' but lookin at the differences (namely the front bar) im soo glad i dont have a s2. it looks like they stole the front bar from a soarer or something.
  16. you can buy relay thing for the lights from supercheap for about $25. i picked one up last week just havent installed it yet. itll turn the lights off when ignition is turned off and it has a light sensor too so itll automatically turn the lights on when it gets dark. i probably wont get it hooked up for a couple of weeks coz im lazy but doesnt look too hard. theres not a lot of wiring involved.
  17. puttin a chev into a skyrine. hmmmm personally i wouldnt wanna do it but at the same time i wanna see it done. It would definately turn heads and definately wont turn corners.
  18. just throwin it out there as another suggestion instead of black or white. not sure how it would look until i saw pics of the car but possibly gold - kinda picturing the usual JUN colour scheme but with a more orangy hue. i could be horribly wrong on that one though. white always looks good with bright colors though. just harder to keep clean.
  19. you should only get white rims if you really love cleanin them every day. I'd love to get white rims for my car (white on white) but im far too lazy to keep them clean.
  20. hahaha under the thumb hey I was real worried until i got my alarm n immobilizer installed too.
  21. wiring might be worn thru the insulation somewhere and arcing or something. or the terminals that connect to the fuel pump might be bad or something. of course you might just have been real unlucky and got 2 bad fuel pumps in a row.
  22. two fuel pumps in quick succession would suggest something possibly wrong with the wiring to the fuel pump. might be getting power surges or shorting or something. hope that helps.
  23. that and get a little sticker like the intel one that says satellite tracking inside I know it detracts from the look of the car etc but having that installed wont stop a thief but having that installed and a sticker to say the car is tracked might deter the thief in the first place.
