  1. What's the name of the product? What about installation? I need one too, my radio is AM only
  2. Please elaborate on this. I'm deciding which clutch i need (190kw) with no forseeable plans to increase power. Will organic do the job? I saw the ones in the SAU trader section, don't really wanna go overkill with it. Wanna hear some opinions. Cheers
  3. Is the BOV rooted? If the spring isn't tensioning the diaphragm properly put the BOV in a vice and crush it down a little. That will increase spring tension, meaning more boost needed to force it open. I've read about doing this on SAU, haven't tried myself (but the 'stop leaking BOV' mod worked a treat ) so if your car turns into a fireball blame the shonky b**tard that originally said it. kthxlater
  4. I'm in the same boat. Only difference is my clutch is wasted and old. Getting a new clutch and doing a fluid bleed and tranny oil change. I'm also preparing for new master and slave cylinders if my mechanic recommends it. About $400 i think, fitted will be a little more. They just get tired. See what your mech says, maybe you can avoid the expense (personally i wouldn't fight it. Just hand over your wallet ).
  5. Well that's what it boils down to. The 91 Unleaded market is much bigger and more profitable than 98 and 100 premium fuels. How much would the difference in profits be- in the hundreds of millions p.a.? Enthusiasts burning fuel at trackdays are a drop in the bucket compared to 7-day commuters. Our demand can't support the production of VPR, every Skyline (and every other average to fast car) owner would need to use it daily. That's big dollars, and that's what the Shell execs are looking at on their stupid graphs and pie charts. Any business owner here would DEFINITELY put their financial security/viability before customers' needs, unless you're a charity. Ain't nothing charitable about internal combustion. Good on your for speaking up. I'm impressed they responded! Champion
  6. You could block your standard BOV i.e. with a piece of sheet metal. My mate's R32 is running a fairly big turbo without a BOV, so as the air recirculates through the compressor housing it makes a HUGE whistle/chirp sound, sounds like feeding an air compressor through a massive flute. When he's on my right and my window's down he changes gear and splits my f**ken ear drum open. My ears nearly bleed. Good times
  7. Physical effects caused by the R35 GT-R:
  8. I've got a lot more respect for the R35 after seeing the lap. It's a friggin animal
  9. Your right about the turbos, wrong about the rebuild. There's no magic number when RB25's pop. 280kw is getting close to the power threshold, but a nugget RB25 could seize at 270kw or less. Age, wear, tune etc etc all effect the engine's health. Chris if you make 280kw keep in mind you'll rapidly shorten the engine's life.
  10. Well you're starting with a new block regardless, so a 2.8 will make sense because it's just easier to make big numbers. If you know exacly how to set it up on a 2.6 crate motor then go for that, but it will need bigger cams and turbos (and lag) to make up for less displacement. Oh, and you're chasing madrange. A stroker is where it's at then. Add up the cost of block+rotating assy then compare it to the crate motor. If there's a ridiculous gap in price then it will be worth keeping your old head+sump. If not, then a crate motor will be worth serious consideration (but if you plan to forge it then the pricetag will begin looking ugly).
  11. I've looked around SAU for the same info. The C is Active LSD & ABS. The A before it might be cruise control or GT spoiler. The rest are sketchy and no one seems to have a full list in Engrish And vspec_gtr32 all GTR's have an RB26DETT. Every single one. The E stands for electronic fuel injected. No 1989+ GTR's ran carburettors. Must be a typo.
  12. Have you installed it correctly? You're meant to be able to set exactly the boost you want. Double check you've got it facing the right direction and all the lines are right, oh, and that you've set the knobs correctly. Turbotech (ebay) make a great & cheap manual controller.
  13. It'll be interesting to see how each country adapts the R35 to their market, but there won't be many modifications i reckon (only minor stuff like the indicators). My bet is the Aus-Spec 35's are re-badged with the Holden emblem.
  14. Enthusiast [en-thoo-zi-ust]: 1. A person filled with or guided by enthusiasm. 2. An ardent and enthusiastic supporter of some person or activity. 3. Enthusiasm (root) - en-theos = in God. An enthusiast is a person inspired by god. So Google tells us to be an enthusiast you must be guided, filled and inspired by something. In this case by Skylines, GTR's and performance machines. It's related to spirituality, in that we respect our cars beyond their abilities as machines, like we respect our wives'/girlfriends more than their ability to give us kids. 98% of Skyline owners i've met have enormous respect for the marque. Hoon [houn]: 1. A loud, obnoxious person. 2. The term "Hoon" was first used in Australia at the turn of the 20th century where it referred to a man living off immoral earnings (i.e. a pimp). 3. A lout; A young man who drives badly or excessively quickly; a street drag racer often driving heavily-customized cars. With hoon we can see there is no layers beneath immediate gratification of the driver. There are no standards or respect for the machine. For example, ever see ricer bodykits, bald tyres or backyard mods on Skylines? Well i won't name any races of people that do this (Lebbos) but it happens, as do heli's and all round tyre-frying in public when some hoons decide to stand out for no reason. Another way to say it: excess without taste. So we ALL get this label, thanks to 2% of people, whether our mods are our hobby or we throw on a bleed valve and gut the cat to make extra noise for laps of Brighton-le-Sands. Best quote of the thread! Amen to that brother! Spoken like a prodigy
  15. Hi fellas here's one for you: ECR33-016619 Cheers

  17. Thanks for the replies everyone. I like the idea of mounting it on the firewall. Any advice before i do it? i.e. Do the wires have enough length and what about screwing it in? Cheers
  18. Mario you turned that R35 into a motor-mirror. Your work is very good quality. Nissan paint is ridiculous. If i lean on my car it leaves an ass imprint. I would gladly become your disciple, and you could teach me the ways of the wax. I will be diligent, and buff those swirls right out. Peace to you, sensei
  19. I want to remove the coilpack cover to keep the coils cooler on WOT, plus it looks a little better . The Ignitor module is mounted on the cover near the firewall and i want to remove it. Is there anywhere to put it? On the firewall? I know S2's have the ignitor built into the coils. Any experiences with this are appreciated. Cheers
  20. Or look around for a cheap blown 25 and rebuild that, then sell your 20 to recoup a little of the cost. It's not like there are mint 25's lying around. Don't forget there are a few extra issues involved in a 25 conversion. ie. Use 20 or 25 tranny? Gearbox mounted in differently for 25, also which ECU to use? You can use either, depending on your setup and if you want to run NVCS, or even a Power FC.
  21. Black rims and sideskirts = porn
  22. A good option is wind the boost down 1-2 psi to stop r&r. Then get a piggyback ECU and have it tuned to higher boost. I have contact details for a 2nd hand SAFC Neo if you want. Cheers
