  1. The truckie should watch the news - his mates are all driving like grannies these days
  2. Damn this thread had me on seat's edge for 15 minutes, so many promises of pics! Great work! Now i wanna see more R33 retrofits, i'm very keen to do the same
  3. Use the NGK coppers (cheap), get a heat rating of 8 or 9 i'd say. You change them every 15-20,000kms. Earlier if you're worried
  4. You've got my vote BTW this thread is so sentimental and altruistic it sickens me. Let's not dance around the issues with our political correctness switched on full-boost mode. Within the confines of the law/defamation guidelines and SAU custom say whatever the f**k you want. Scatching's comment about self expression not being constitutionally covered is important guys. You can't rip heli's on public roads, but within reason you can fully express yourself here. Even if you're bi-polar.
  5. Post the turbo to Sydney Otherwise practically every turbo needs a new dump, so save a little more for the kit.
  6. It only sucks when all your mates are doing twisties.
  7. Nah i agree with them. You can't appreciate why so many people stare at your car until you look into a shop window and see how f**king sexy you look. Hot damn!!1!!1
  8. Cheers for the info! I like this for a change - a good streetable rebuild. Most are completely insane 400+kW builds but this seems like something that's easier to live with. Your wallet probably loves you right now. You're happy to leave factory rods in there? I'm with Ben on this one
  9. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Supercar It has sports car elements (looks, interior) And supercar elements (performance, handling, engineering) But the 'supercar' is changing every year, and what a Ferrari could do five years ago can now be done in a factory Nissan. BTW, what you tag as supercars ARE NOT supercars. They're Hypercars.
  10. Any more details with plans for the motor?
  11. Do a search about repairing coilpacks. Might come in handy.
  12. +1 as an SAU whore myself i agree. Go Praaank, go Praaank
  13. Totally agree. Taking the turn a little later and swinging the nose around helps reduce understeer. Once the weight is settled and the nose feels lighter (than turning in early) mashing the throttle is more controlled and effective and throws even more weight to the rear as the corner exit is taken. Early turn-in makes it harder to use the entire corner. The line is sharper and more weight is thrown on the front left/right wheel. This becomes an issue when tackling the apex. Late turn-in is more an "aim at the apex" method IMO, it's more balanced.
  14. I haven't got figures but any mechanic that says the exhaust flows very well has issues. It flows, yes, but swap it for aftermarket 3-inch and see the difference! The difference between my GTST with stock and 3-inch cat back is huge. The muffler is VERY restictive, plus turning up the boost over 7psi does nothing. I reckon if you made 150awkw, a 3-inch zorst and 12psi would get you 180awkw give or take a little.
  15. I cacked when i saw it during the TG break One of the best ads i've seen in a while, sends the perfect message for TGOZ
  16. I wouldn't expect too much. Blame the exhaust. It makes a whopping difference, especially when it restricts a bump-up of boost. 206kW at the fly, maybe it's a higher real-world figure, but let's minus 30% (as an approximation of drivetrain power loss) from 206 = approx. 144kW at the wheels, dead stock. Be happy with more than that Post your results mate, will be interesting to compare with Nissan's BS figure.
  17. I'd say slotted rotors would be a good start. GTR brakes even better due to larger diameter, but cash involved. If money isn't an issue get a new setup front and rear like the Alcon above. 6-pot front, 4-pot rear will be plenty of bite.
  18. I love V-Power. V-Power Racing has ethanol, there's a difference. I'm happiest with Shell, but Ultimate is good too. I've been told they both have heaps of additives compared to Vortex though. I think fuel damaging an engine is overrated. Not changing the oil often enough is something to worry about.
  19. I thought Nissan, not Nismo, built N1 GTR's? It could be a plate put on GTR's tuned at Nismo's workshop/s in Japan for ID purposes. Someone else will have the same thing 100%. Maybe this GTR was an experiment gone wrong and makes 1000awkw?
  20. Unless you want to be a mechanic hands-on is the best IMO.
