  1. You should just get one of the Catco 3" cat's with the 5" body, they flow not too much less than a de-cat pipe anyway really and they r legal and your exhaust wont stink... you can get them off this forum i think the guys user name is Batmbl or something like that, I have one on my car (with a 3" turbo back exhaust) and its making more power everywhere
  2. My dad got them in his 180sx and I must say they do look really good, especially for the cost
  3. Hopefully this helps http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/Tu...-2-t149672.html Good Luck
  4. Mine has been doing it when both cold and warm. The car is running stock boost btw. I put in some Nulon Performance Engine Treatment E20 in the car yesterday and since I did i havent been able to get it to pop at all even when trying to force one out. Seems to have done the trick, and the car is idling smoother now too Not bad for $13. So yeah, so far so good hopefully it stays that way. Maybe worth a try for you other guys? *EDIT* Still does it sometimes, but nowhere near as much. Leaves less black on the tip of the exhaust than before though.
  5. Car: R34 GT-T Turbo: Stock @ Stock boost Tyres: Crappy Achilles 235/45/17 @35psi Date: 26/01/08 Time: 6:51pm Output in rwkw: No idea, Just a catback Exhaust,Pod filter and Plumback BOV though Track: Willowbank Air Temp: 23deg Track Temp: 34deg Humidity: 71% Reaction time: 0.576 60ft: 2.287 330ft: 6.174 660ft: 9.375 1000ft: 12.109 ET: 14.420 MPH: 97.93mph / 157.61kmh Comments: First time at the drags with the new car, was fun but couldn't get of the line cleanly with the cheapy tires on the back. Got some new parts going on the car and getting a tune, putting some good tyres on the back and seeing how much i can improve next time out Gotta see how close I can get to my old Rx7's 12.4@117mph
  6. Dont know where else sell them, but good old ebay has them: http://cgi.ebay.com.au/GIZZMO-MS-IBC-Multi...7QQcmdZViewItem $550+$12.50delivery and there's a cheaper one: http://cgi.ebay.com.au/GIZZMO-Intelligent-...7QQcmdZViewItem $399+$15delivery No im not a seller, im actually trying to figure out which is the best coost controller myself. Is the IBC just as good as the MS-IBC just with a lower boost range? or is the a more significant difference?
  7. x2 I had an 8600gts and its was ok but not great, upgraded to an Albatron 8800gts 512mb and its so so so much better, worth the extra cash if you can afford it. It actually made vista run better too as it took some load off the cpu. Im running a core duo quad [email protected] , 4gb ram, 8800gts, p5b motherboard, dual 320gb hdd's, vista, etc and its handles pretty much anything. And i havent really tried overclocking it properly yet. Vista isnt so bad in my experience...but im not really a techno geek
  8. I was going to say that, but I figured if you cant handle a Gts-t because of a bit of wheelspin you shouldnt be driving a GTR so suggested something a little safer lol On topic, I have found that all the Gts-t's & GT-T's i've come across have had traction problems if your trying do get a good time at the drags even when relatively stock. But if you drive them like a normal car they are quite easy to drive and grip ok. Quality tyres make a HUGE difference in my experience too
  9. If you want a car that doesnt wheelspin buy a hyundi exel. Skylines tend to have traction issues, especially when modified so if you dont want wheelspin i'd suggest buying something else
  10. I think it looks alright. Specs on that site are a bit funny, how does it make maximum power 1,850hp@6000rpm and max torque of 1,700ft/lbs@7000rpm? And all this on 92 octane fuel Where does it say RWD though? And if all it can do is a 10 flat 1/4 mile the veyron will have it covered
  11. First Car: Green Series 2 Rx7 13b mildport Second: Grey series 3 Rx7 13b mildport Third: Black series 4 Rx7 13bt (for sale atm) Current: Black R34 GT-T

  13. Here's a link that has a quick explanation in it: http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/R3...io-t190792.html 1 - First pull out the ashtray and undo the screw behind it. 2 - Pull up the gear stick surround and undo the 2 silver screws at the bottom left/right of the storage bin. 3 - Using a thin flat blade screwdriver on the left side, prise out the 2 vents at the top of the console and disconnect the unit. 4 - Undo the 2 silver screw at the top of the heater controls. 5 - Pull out the heater controls, radio & stage bin (all in a cage together). 6 - Remove the radio from the cage (2 screws each side) and fit your radio. 7 - Using the following parts PC2-76-4 and PC5-87 connect your radio to the cars plugs. 8 - Refit going from step 5 Im not sure if its exactly what you need to know with your setup but it'll give you an idea. I took mine out and it wasnt very difficult
  14. My r34's mostly stock, and it gets about 420-430 before the fuel light comes on, with a mostly suburban driving and a bit of highway and a bit of 'spirited' driving. But what you have to remember is that the fuel light seems to come on really early in r34's, mine came on last time I filled up just before I turned into the petrol station and when i filled up all i could get in there was 50.5lts, meaning there was still 14.5ltrs in there! (65ltr tank) So maybe your fuel consumption isn't as bad as you think it is? Do you run your air con constantly? Cause this could possibly make it use a bit more too. I'd just get a full service and gap your plugs etc etc and see how that goes if you still think its using too much.
  15. I'll agree with Troy and GTRgoeff in saying that the 888 guys are very nice people, as i have talked to a couple of the guys met through work. And Lowndes has always been one of my fav drivers although im still yet to meet him...until friday that is, i've got V8 Supercars hot laps session with 888 :laughing-smiley-014: Cant wait, half a day off AND go racing around in a 635hp Supercar

    Gone

Just want to get rid of it, so someone make me an offer or the ninja will get you >>
  17. Mines not popping on decel, only acceleration. I dont think its anything, just a bit rich i reckon. If it gets worse i'll start worrying but till then it can wait until i get a computer and a proper tune. Might gap my plugs for the hell of it in the meantime even tho it probably wont stop it. Thanks for everyone's input btw
  18. Its not loud or bad, its barely noticable really, im just used to listening for stuff like this. It doesnt do it on deceleration either, well at least i havent noticed it do it. Only when shifting up with low revs after having some load. And its not a loud bang, just a light pop. And there's no hesitation at all, it pulls quite smoothly. The motor seems in pretty good condition too, just had all the belts replaced from 100k service, and new sparks plugs (mayb i need to gap them correctly?), oil, etc.
  19. Yeah i sorta figured it was running rich, im used to cars throwing flames out the exhaust being the owner of a modified rx7 The skyline is only a fairly quiet pop so nothing major. I guess its time to start planning some mods to be ready for a computer and a tune...
  20. Im very new to skylines and this is probably wrong but thought i'd throw it out there for the hell of it My brothers r32 (rb20) started making a really loud tapping/knocking noise a couple of days ago, would rise with revs and sounded like it was from one of the front cylinders. It actually turned out to be the clutch on the fan had given up and was making the racket. Its easy enough to test cause you can just slip the belt off and see if the noise goes. My 2c worth *Edit* After reading your latest post, probably not what im suggesting...
  21. I've only had the car a few weeks but something i have noticed is that if i keep the revs low and use even close to full throttle and change up gears without reving high i hear a popping sound from the exhaust which im assuming is a flame out as the tip is black afterwards. My question is, is this normal for a mostly stock GT-T? I just have a cat-back exhaust/pod filter/plumb back bov. Im assuming that r34's are tuned rich from the factory and this is simply a tune issue of too much fuel in and not enough burnt in the combustion chamber? Has anyone else noticed the same sort of thing? Im sure its no big deal but just thought i'd ask.
  22. Very nice looking wheels Will these fit an R34 GT-T without scrubbing? (Stock ride height) As im new to Skylines and not sure which is the best offset for them. And how much would postage to Brisbane be?
