  1. So the cars now days are much more rigid and the roll cages much better?
  2. Hey bb, im not having a dig, but what wouldnt be done to the v8 supercars that that was to the gibson gtrs? thanks
  3. Looking at their website its 23.2kgs for a 8pt chromoly cage, that is for s13 though. Justin, who did u import yours through? What were the shipping fees like? I'm thinking if shipping is going to cost me a packet i might be able to get something made locally that is legal for the street as well.
  4. Holy shit that is a cage
  5. I like the way you think BB. I had never planned to get a roll cage anyway as the events i want to do dont require one, and also i dont think im ever going to have a car setup for circuit that goes faster than 10.x or 9.x lol I really just want to stiffen the car right up and not have it like a spring without a shock. And also a little extra safety would be a good thing. Good to hear that u can notice a difference in handling etc id hate to spend the time buying, importing and fitting it and not notice a difference. Also did u buy that CF DIN from me a few years ago, i sold a number of them on here... Heres mine, the back has been stripped since this photo thought so that wont be a problem for the cage
  6. Hey bb, thanks for the reply and the pics, really appreciate it. I think what you have is perfect for a car that will still be driven on the street from time to time. I really like how u can remove the front half. Any idea who i should import one from negun/greenline etc? Also do the cusco cages meet any australian standards? Like ANDRA etc or do they all have to be weld in :S I had heard that for the street the cage must be bolt in to be legal, but for running fast times at the drags u need it to meet ANDRA specs Love the seat and harness too, and what looks like 3 defi's and a quick release steering wheel
  7. Bb, nah wasnt talking about the b pillar brace, that is totally off the cards now. Can i ask how much your cusco 8 point was, who you got it from etc. Also is a bolt in cage as good as one that is welded in and goes into the engine bay/boot and is welded to the pillars etc much like v8 supercar etc? Can you notice a difference in handling/performance/track times etc with the cage in? what is it like with the front half removed? Also some pics of the cusco cage in your car would be awesome Thanks for any input
  8. Thanks SK just what i was looking for! Sk/beer baron/anyone.. Also in regard to a cage how safe are they for the street? I mean if ur not wearing a helmet wouldnt u be at a high risk of hitting ur head on the cage in an accident? I know they are padded but that cant help that much.... thoughts?
  9. Umm yeah or in the same car, but i know what ur saying and its pretty much what i thought. That is get out there and run it. Im just not sure if ill come home from the track with my gearbox in one piece, really need to do that gearbox conversion. Shame i just bought a house lol
  10. Damn that really takes the fun out of things
  11. 275 yum So 2rismo, if u had a rb20 with 210rwkw and a rb25 with 210rwkw how much faster would u expect the rb25 powered car to be across the 1/4 due to the extra torque?
  12. I dont think so SK has suggested 235s are a good fit
  13. I didnt see anyone with r32s posting hmm, ill re read Edit: Ok i re-read and understand we are talking r33 with rb25 and stock turbo. but the stock turbo on a rb25 can make almost as much as the 213 im making with bolt on turbo. So i thought it wouldnt be a bad place to ask, considering most of they guys in the thread have actually taken there car to a dragstrip. Never mind sorry to get off topic, its just ill never drag this setup and pretty sure it would have a high 12 in it, was just looking for a yay or nay cheers tho
  14. Does it drive like an s13 with that rack in it? Congrats on the project
  15. Thanks for that captain obvious
  16. i hadnt used it for over 5 years, so i removed it. car went from 12s to 9s
  17. With a hole near the filter? Will that be an issue when your driving in the rain?
  18. How fast do u guys think a r32 would go with 213rwkws? i was thinking about 110mph and a high 12 if i was lucky The setup is is for circuit with 18x7.5s, 225/40 s-03 rubber and all the suspension parts from SK's GB
  19. Also forget my car has abs and a sunroof. Im trying to work off the factory figure of 1360 and i dont think that includes abs and sunroof.... And for all the haters, i wont reply to this thread again until i have been to the weigh bridge so until then
  20. Just weighed a stock wheel at 8kg each My nismos are 7.2kg each Update for anyone that cares... removed stock rear spoiler (5kg) removed driving lights (5kg) removed Hicas (15+kg) removed A/C (15+kg) Stripped boot/interior/ rear seatbelts/rear speakers (15kg) Orc lightweight flwheel (4kgs) Gtr bonnet (15kg) Gtr seats (7kg) Rays Engineering Nismo LM GT-4 18x7.5 forged alloy lightweight wheels and nuts (4kg ) = 85+ kgs Added, front and rear strut bars (3kg) turbo timer, ebc, 2 guages, alarm (5kg) intercooler (5kg) gtr rear spoiler (sometimes off) (10kg) = 25kg max 1360 + 25 - 85 = 1300
  21. A better question would be how many do i actually need..... then they would all fit in the center
  22. Hey SK, now that your back, what do u think of these bars are they worth getting? I already have all the stuff from your GB Thanks mate
  23. Edit: when im ready to buy and have the measurements i will contact torqline myself. Mostly because i need one for a r32 with a rb25 gearbox conversion.
