  1. yeah i d/c mine and didnt even think about it, just checked it then. the settings are still there so all is good.
  2. mmmm TD06 is nice! but as i use my car everyday the 2530 is perfect. im currently making 278hp at the wheels (210rwkw) at less than 1bar but im hitting boost cut. should make over 300rwhp once i get the ECU chipped or something, just run out of money now... and the HKS turbo doesnt reach its efficiency band till 1.2bar! so im hoping it will do ok. the beauty of the 2530 is that it comes on boost very early and i think that it actually has more pull off boost driving than my std turbo did, so all round it is a really sweet turbo for everyday, anymore power and i will have serious traction issues as it struggles already. ask Roy about the TD06, i think he has a 20g on an RB20 and is very happy with that, im gonna have to check it out sometime soon.
  3. Yep. pulled 222hp at the wheels too. had it on that setting for more than a year driving it everyday and no problems, i know a few others doing the same without dramas. although i now have a HKS2530. but ive still got the original turbo in my garage and it has zero play in any direction and all the exaust blades are in perfect condition.
  4. Cobo thats only with the stock turbo as they fall apart at anything over 12psi - mind you i had my stocker running 16psi everyday for a year and never had a prob
  5. in regards to thw two earth wires, just splice the brown earth about 5cm infront of the black on the ECUs earth. and get all the settings to zero (0) until you tune it on the dyno
  6. Hey mate, i might be selling an SAFC II soon as im upgrading management. Im in sydney, if you want it ill install it for you at my place, or show you how if you like - its really easy. at procar dyno in Cromer it will cost you $80 to have it tuned.
  7. if you are going to do any turbo work, dont waste your money highflowing the standard, go for an aftermarket BB turbo, HKS, Garrett, Trust etc. well worth the money and with killer results. SAFC is good if you arent going to change the turbo (as R33 computers cant be "chipped") otherwise get programable management - but as you know that aint cheap! otherwise you have a good idea of what needs to be done. make her breathe better.
  8. sorry but where is it going to be held?
  9. im after more than that. thanks.
  10. no thanks mate.
  11. just get a HKS2530 very responsive, and you can get a good one for about $1500 second hand all you have to modify is oil feed, water feed and water drain. get one of those silicon bends from the compressor to intercooler pipe and you are done will pull up to 340hp on an RB20. super responsive and a sh$%load more top end. the GT28 series on there are also T25 flanges - the RB20/25 use a T3 flange
  12. Brand New SAFCII bought it with my turbo kit then realised i need a fully programable computer. spent about 2hrs on the dyno. Still in box with full manual, wiring diagram instructions etc. also have translated ecu diagram. New Price $499 PM me if interested Here are some pics of it:
  13. Emails sent - GTS4 yours wouldnt deliver.
  14. difference between SAFC and SAFCII is that the later has more adjustment points in the rev range making it more accurate, it also has knock sensor display. i think there are a few good threads on all the differences, sorry Hippy, but no thanks, i doubt its an SAFCII or brand new.
  15. HKS2530 is defenantly the go gives more bang for your buck - pull over 280rwhp on less than 1bar, just get your ecu tuned or a boost cut defender to run more boost. speaking from experience but they are very responsive.
  16. Nismo twin plate clutch from R32 GTR needs new plates - $550 R32 GTR front bar to fit GTS-T - $250 RB20 turbo, damn good condition - $250 PM me for pics
  17. Brand New SAFCII bought it with my turbo kit then realised i need a fully programable computer. spent about 2hrs on the dyno. Still in box with full manual, wiring diagram instructions etc. also have translated ecu diagram. $530.00 PM me if interested Here are some pics of it:
  18. check your PM
  19. the safc can swtich between 2 settings ( i know my safcii does) dunno about the safc. and i did a dyno run with 5psi difference and it didnt require me to change the safc settings, it was ok for 10psi and 15psi.
  20. nah its those crappy turbosmart controlers. i had the exact same problem as you, couldnt run less than 13psi with either a 2 stage or a bleeder. wheni removed it all together i could hold 8psi and i have cooler, exaust, dump, filter. i think the valve cant seal off properly or something. by removing it or changing to ebc there was no probs in running std boost levels.
  21. well with my HKS 2530i only had to change oil feed, water feed and water outlet lines. pretty easy to get and make yourself. i opted for braided line so it does cost a little more. If you do get the T3 flange the turbo will bold straight up to your manifold and even match the standard dump. but i would recomend upgrading the dump and the std ones are pretty crap. MM2death: i really couldnt tell much from that pic, but mine does have garrett on the compressor cover, i think all the HKS turbos have hks cast into the exaust housing... so try look or feel for that. mine also has a little number plate on the core with has 2530 and some other stuff stamped onto it.
  22. well the advantage of a hks 2530 and such is they will bold straight on to your standard manifold. HKS have a patent on their conpressor blades and matches or something. so they do stand out above say an equivalent garrett or such (although HKS turbos are made by garrett, but garrent arent allowed to copy the HKS design) the difference is that the HKS 25xx series is that they come on boost very early and are capable of producing very high and efficient boost. the 2530's efficiency range is something like 1.4 - 1.7bar, thats pretty high boost for a fairly small turbo. the advantage of that is you have a very responsive turbo producing good mid range as well as being capable of flowing good top end power. hope all that made sense
  23. get a 2nd hand HKS2530 or 2535 they bolt straight on cost about $1800 for a decent one and have barely any lag compared to standared.
