Hey Joe, welcome on board. Stick a pic of yourself and your ride on this thread.......and anyone else that hasn't done it yet. http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/Pu...me-t203821.html

While you've got the stick out Andrew, you might want to go thru some of the threads in the last week in relation to all the macho vigilante crap thats been going on by some of the newbies. Andz hit the nail right on the head when he asked someone to chill out. Fair enough everyone gets frustrated when cars are knocked off but reading 50 posts by an individual about what he wants to do to someone and how he's not afraid of confrontation or how he can bait & bash someone's head in self defense and get away with it etc, etc.....I think you get the message. Up until the last week or so, there was some good reading on here about cars (have a look at all the good stuff in here http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/Fo...erforma-f8.html) and I'm concerned thats this whole site will turn into Wasteland if some of these big heads aren't given either a short or permanent holiday. You know who you all are....get some anger management happening cause its only a matter of time before you meet Bubba and I wouldn't wish him on my worst enemy. PS: I'm not referring to anyone who has posted the odd bit of frustration, because we all do that, just the ones that post crap after bravado crap..........I thought Wasteland was for crap not 70% of all recent threads. Thats my 2 cent rant.
-
Hey Dave, your new girlfriend could do with a shower bud.
-
In the very wise words of my missus.....It's all good fun until someone breaks a finger nail............then you better duck for cover!
-
Sorry dude, but as much as I agree with some of the posts, I think its been done to death now and I'm sure I'm not the only one here thats sick of sifting thru all the dribble just to find something 1/2 intelligent. I wasn't flaming any one person in particular.....JUST ALL OF YA!!
-
Ha, ha, yeah I was thinking the exact same thing. The last 2 or 3 days every thread has been hi jacked with all this mucho bravado crap and very little speak about what this site was originally designed for.....car nuts exchanging info about their rides! If you're out there mods, IMO 1/2 of these recent threads are not even worthy of Wasteland

Did you get your software from Access Autoworks on Ebay http://cgi.ebay.com.au/Apexi-Power-FC-Comm...1QQcmdZViewItem

Yeah Martin had a quick look and drive of my car this arvo and as I suspected, its a bit of a mess. I'll probably get Jeff to do mine as well because it needs to be re initialized and started from the begining, plus Jeff is just around the corner.
-
Only a 2WD but you can always drop your centre shaft. I have realized that just because someone has a dyno, doesn't make them a tuner....read what you like into this but if you want further clarification I'll speak to you at Chalkers Sat night.
-
Hey Ryan, I'm running a PFC. Using Donan because he's possibly one of the best PFC tuners in the country, Jeff is another guy I would recommend . Check what the guys interstate have to say about them http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/Ke...43#entry3617443 I've heard stories about Martin that if you don't know him he doesn't give you his best.....can't really comment whether thats true or not but I know Pete Hall (other 1/2 of Willall Racing) pretty well and he has had a chat to Martin about me so hence the reason I'm going there. Here is a link to my specs http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/Rb...html&st=120 (scroll down the page)

I'm off to Martin Donan's tomorrow arvo with the GTR. Hopefully he can sort it out for me over a beer and get a few more killa wasps out of it.
-
Thats awesome Lee congratulations. We'll have to have another beer together soon and I suppose it'll be my shout So are we going to make a monkey out of him too.......I reckon about 5yrs old he'll be ready for those trees bud.
-
yeah I probably didn't make it very clear

Thats making me hungry again Andrew. My dad goes between Brighton & Noarlunga between 6am & 8am most mornings off the beach and usually gets a good feed each time. He got 18 average size mullet and 1 big gar this morning.... I went over for lunch and helped them eat the things....nothing like fresh fish.

So going by what you're saying, it doesn't matter what parents do, the kids are going to do their own thing anyway. If thats the case, then we shouldn't even waste our breath with discipline and let nature take its course.....I don't think you really believe that. Proper parenting with boundaries & guidlines makes a massive difference to a kids life and I understand that doesn't mean that sometimes even the best kids won't stray.

I Am 17 On My P's What Car Would Be Best For Me?
SLED replied to rustykilla's topic in South Australia
Yeah good point Steve but you & I know that you always power out of a corner....how many kids do you see that power into a corner...heaps. Imagine then if they were in a V8 where the power is pretty much instantaneous, if they're smart they would take their foot off as they start to lose it....but in Turbo car, they have probably picked up too much speed already before the boost takes over and slams them into a gutter, pole or worst still another car. How many turbos on this site alone have we seen do exactly that....a few I bet. -
Here, here! Its all about balance. I've got a 9yr old boy & 11yr old girl who both understand what consequenses are, and get them as a result of their own actions, not because mum & dad don't love them. On the scales of life I always try to tip them in favour of showing them love but never letting them get away with unacceptable behaviour and they are turning out pretty good so far. Abusive parents dont know the meaning of love and should never have had their kids in the first place. We like the reward system to but we always make sure they're not going out of their way just for their reward so we use incentives wisely & sparingly.

in other words, unable to park a car between 2 posts within 2 goes and without crunching the posts or hitting the kerb. -

Too true Max. I used to have a 5.7litre that had reasonable power but it was always predictable, on the other hand a turbo car thats had its boost messed with can be abit like the powerband of a 2 stroke bike, unpredictable....and in the hands of a kid can be a death trap. -

she must be a pretty shitty parker too then....cops didn't care too much about that stuff in those days, all cars had massive chrome bumper bars back then. -

lol Steve, your mum can't be that old, thats how I got my licence from the old Goodwood cop shop. I didn't even get to go right around the block but he still signed the papers and told my mum that I was a pretty shitty parker. Got my learners at the Plympton cop shop by answering 4 compulsory diagram questions then a further 12 questions which you only needed to get 8 right. Only needed to have my learners permit for a minimum of 4 weeks before getting my full licence.......no 'P' plates in those days. Once you had a car licence you only had to pay $12 to get your 250cc bike permit which would automatically convert to a full licence after 12 mths. I think if I had a GTR when I was 17, I wouldn't be around today. -
Thats GOLD.....I'll never be late again with a library book!
-
Thats GOLD Steve

You make a good point Glenn and I actually agree with you but you'll be surprised how many wouldn't agree. Unfortunately it's almost politically incorrect these days to hold parents accountable for a minor's indiscretions. And its no wonder when you consider a parent can go to jail for administering corporal punishment in public these days. Spare the rod and spoil the child!! Having said that, I definitely don't condone child abuse and parents who do need to be locked up!

http://www.news.com.au/adelaidenow/story/0...648-911,00.html I wonder if the owner offered the kid a face massage before the law arrived.
