  1. lol, did you call Crime Stoppers or missing persons?.....I didn't know Nissans came from France?! :laughing-smiley-014:
  2. Hey Paul any info would be much appreciated as well please.
  3. Yeah good point, a sign on the front and back windows may keep adults away but some parents don't know how to control their kids who can run an absolute muck without chains around the cars. I've had a kid bang his Tonka Truck on the back fender of my bike during Bike Week on the Gold Coast last year, and parents didn't even bat an eyelid. What do ya reckon I wanted to do to the kid and his old man?
  4. Normally I would consider putting mine in the display but unfortunately no one can guarantee me that peeps wont lean on it or rub past it with their handbags, etc. I'd hate to take it back home full of sctratches & small dents and nothing to show for it.
  5. Yeah no probs bud, I know what you mean & I agree, its like banging your head on the wall sometimes.
  6. Thanks Ryan, appreciate the comments. Apart from the stinkin heat it turned out to be a top day.
  7. Been in the engine reconditioning game for 20 years mate so I appreciate you teaching me something that I learnt when I was still in nappies. When engine reconditioners say they're changing their B/E's, they're always referring to shells. Otherwise they refer to the rods specifically. They never talk about changing B/E whilst referring to rods. Sounds like you like to make a play on peoples words and argue pointless issues otherwise you wouldn't have asked such an obvious question.
  8. Check numbers on the back of the shell, may give a clue, or if your not using them again light scrape on inside will tell you if they're copper leads or alu tins. Always a good idea to use a copper lead or similar in an RB though.
  9. Yeah we saw ya Rob on South Rd, you were heading towards Anzacs, I gave you a toot too. We drove for Daniel's (Premo) wedding. There was Evil34 (Shaun), Nightcrawler in the middle and me at the back in my 34.
  10. Why, you got one? I've got 2 of the halves that make a whole.........but they're still FALCODORES
  11. Cool, that's what I thought. I was always under the impression that you have to drop shafts on the 33 & 34 GTR's but the 32 GTR's only need to have a fuse pulled fror a dyno run.
  12. Fair enough, its good info to know. As I stated above, I have removed sumps on various other motors whilst still in the car but not on an RB, thanks.
  13. OK you win
  14. You wouldn't have to remove your crank to change B/E brgs. I've changed them on various other motors in the past by removing the B/E caps & spark plugs, pushing each piston up an inch and being real careful not to nick the journals with the thread on the B/E bolts, if you do, crank has to come out (might have to come out anyway for a grind or at least a linish if its got grooves). You'll have to do a r & r on each cyl that's on the down stroke then turn crank to do others.....pretty messy this way but good oportunity to replace with a decent baffled sump. As far as mains are concerned, they rarely fail unless there's crap in the galleries but usually evident by pitting or scratches on the B/E shells.
  15. You my friend, are a HOON!!!
  16. Imagine having scissors and pulling into a maccas or pub carpark where there are about 20 blokes squashed in 3 falcodores or a bunch of hairy chrome domes on harleys. What sort of reception ya reckon you'll get when you open the doors.......lil bit embarassing me thinks I personally dont have an issue with them though, but I would never have them.
  17. How big a skid and how far did he run
  18. Yeah I saw that. They advertise 9000kms but in the fine print they say "actual mileage unknown", they also say "minor damage repair"......yeah right. Normally 'minor damage' rarely gets reported which makes me think its a bit more serious. $40K tells me its prolly a bucket of bolts that needs at least another $10K spent on it. BUYER BEWARE!!
  19. Huh??? Same thing....you gotta remove the B/E cap to remove the B/E brg. What sort of other B/E is there?
  20. we assume you have a front plate now and the yellow canary on your front screen has gone?!
  21. Regrinds......cool. Who's got the masters to do them Cubes? EDIT: der, sorry Cubes, just found them............http://www.tighecams.com.au/
  22. yeah thats the problem.....they might look cool and all but eventually the novelty will wear off and you'll be stuck with something thats a hassle to use, that draws to much police attention and that cost a packet.
  23. Hey Vince, you've got me a bit worried there now......so what if I pull the fuse and drop the centre shaft to do a few runs on a 2WD dyno? Can it cause any probs doing this cos I've already done it on my R34 GTR.
  24. Hey boys now I'm confused.....my thoughts were that you can't get rego in any state without a compliance plate fitted & sighted by an official. If that is true and this vehicle in question has interstate rego then I would assume that it would have to have a compliance plate fitted. If that is also the case then a Sturt inspection for eng & vin is all you'll need (Wed & Thur 11am - 3pm & no appointment required).....just make sure there aren't any obvious things like dark tint on front doors, too low, tyres sticking out of guards, pods OK but must be secured, exh hanging on the ground, etc They won't check ECU, turbos, fmic (unless 1/2 your front bar is cut away) and if exh is loud just idle into the shed.
  25. CORRECT. I'd be curious to find out if over filling the sump puts more oil in the catch can than a STD fill after a couple of hard laps or if the difference is negligible. I've only had my GTR for approx 4 mths so I haven't been able to test for myself.
