  1. Cool......my younger brother works in computers at Harvey Norman Munno Para.
  2. Thanks Shaun. No I haven't yet. Do you mind me asking how much they're charging.....just PM me if you don't want to make it public, thanks.
  3. Next thing I need done is get the thing fitted. Can anyone out there recommend someone to fit it for approx $400 or less............already had a quote from Boostworx.
  4. Cheers for that Simon...I thought that was the case. I think I'll go for a STD unit as long as you reckon it will handle the occasional side step of the clutch at high rpm........I need it to be good in heavy traffic but it also needs to bite when the odd occasion comes along.
  5. Grab a multi meter and start using the process of elimination but before you do that (apart from checking that you have a good earth), go back over all your wiring and make sure nothing is exposed that could be causing a short either against another wire or metal. I had similar issues when I built the bike and tried to hide about 200 wires in the frame tubes.....an ignition wire rubbing on metal caused me all sorts of headaches.
  6. BUMP.....
  7. I know.........I'm only pulling your leg too mate
  8. CORRECT. 4km from South Rd turn off to McLaren Vale turn off.
  9. lol.........c'mon guys........if you guys ever get your taxi licence, remind me not to get into your cab Check it http://maps.google.com.au/maps?hl=en&i...p;z=14&om=0
  10. I guess I'll find out this Thursday!!
  11. Spotted a black 33 with skirts outside the Renmark Hotel
  12. What's the diff between STD spec & Comp version........is it just a bit more clamping pressure?
  13. Sorry Cara, at this stage its not looking good.....I need a clutch badly.
  14. Thanks for the link Dave.......I've just done alot of reading. Ben, thanks for your imput too. The thing to consider though with clutches is that building a clutch that will handle 800+ hp is easy....larger diameter driven plate with steel faces and heavier diaphram....problem is, it's not very streetable, ie. heavy pedal, shuddering and in/out feeling which is bad for the driveline. What I like about the Boss Drive setups like the Nismo, ATS and the new Exedy 'D' Twins is excellent grip without ridiculous amounts of clamping pressure and the Boss setup is very driveline friendly. Jim Berry sounds like a top bloke that knows his stuff but with all that I just read, I didn't find anything on compound mixes etc. He also lightens cast flywheels and with 4000lbs clamping pressure, which is what I read, you're asking for an amputation. I prefer the Jap steel lightened flywheels after seeing an old customer of mine that used to work at Super Roos in Edwardstown (when Super Chev were still around) lose a chunk off his tibia, snapped his left lower leg at right angles and a piece hit him in the left shoulder!!
  15. Hey that sounds like good news Andy.....Luke if you're out there, help please!! Al, Cain and others, thanks for your imput in this thread....good pics and good info.
  16. I can get the Nismo from Japan for approx $2000 landed. The Exedy & ATS from Japan for a couple of hundred more. Has anyone found them cheaper elsewhere?
  17. Thanks Andy, it looks like the twin in the pic, can you tell me more, ie. any shudder on take off, pedal feel, gear changing, cost, etc. Thanks for the info Al.....is yours a twin and where did you get it from?
  18. I don't want to sound too hypocritical because I occasionally give the bike and car throttle a bit of a blip, but this sort of continuous high speed recklessness is asking for another new law against imports or worse still, some poor kid running out in front of him.
  19. Thanks Cain, I'd love to know how it goes. That clutch looks sik, it was definitely the other one I was looking at and I think its definitely on a par with the exedy & nismo. Are you running the single or twin, how much power are you making and did you get it from Nengun?
  20. Hey Ryan, What sort of price can you do on the exedy and nismo in the first post of this thread?
  21. Thanks Simon, appreciate the info and your experience. Shuddering is definitely one issue I'm concerned about but I also need a clutch that backs off quickly for smooth changing and that is forgiving in heavy traffic......so so far so good.
  22. Has anyone used the Nismo super Coppermix clutches that can give me a heads up on them? I'm assuming they're a carbon plate with copper impregnated. What are they like in traffic and does the copper cause any shudder as opposed to the plain carbons? http://www.nengun.com/nismo/super-coppermi...in-plate-clutch or this one (slightly dearer) http://www.nengun.com/exedy/hyper-carbon-c...in-plate-clutch
  23. lol...I remember Steve Austin in those days with 6 mill worth of bolt-on bits. Doesn't seem that expensive these days considering I've spent almost that much in the last week for my bolt-on bits.
  24. Too true on both accounts. Knew Mark from many years ago when I was at Adelaide Engine and he worked opposite Castle Plaza in a muffler shop but I still wont go there for these 2 reasons. He's a nice bloke though.
  25. Not too bad but pretty young....RAA van was stuck in heavy traffic about 10 car lengths behind them so I didn't bother. They couldn't have picked a worse place and time to break down.
