  1. I would be personally looking to find a good 32 GTR and maybe use yours for a trade if possible.....they've come down in price now.
  2. Amen to that brother!!
  3. Thanks Cara Thanks, I'll try.........but its things like bigger garrett turbos, cams, power fc, hks elec boost controller, injectors, fuel pump rail & reg, bigger tube & fin fmic, different air pods, improve existing exhaust with split dump pipes etc, better clutch and a few other hidden things. Most of that stuff you don't realy see unfortuantely.
  4. Well, after a couple of months of sweating the ID inspection, I got the 34 with NSW plates through Sturt Police today. I thought that it would be referred to Regency for further inspection but it didn't happen. One of the boxes on the inspection sheet asks if further inspection is necessary but he ticked the 'NO' box......whew. Obviously coilovers, lowered slightly, airpods, wheelspacers, Kakimoto Dual N1 exhaust & BBS wheels with 265 rubber are all OK as long as they're within spec and all mounted well. Now I can finally bolt on all the stuff that I've been acumulating for a few months.
  5. If its a nice warm night you can't go past Cafe Salsa at West Beach. Outdoor dining at the beach is always good for a first impression. Head chef Marco is one of the best cooks in Adelaide. Tell em the Landlord sent you.
  6. CORRECT........Ben at Outlaws knows his stuff.
  7. Shame he hasn't got a 4 wheeler.......can't pull a fuse like a 32 unfortunately. Would've liked to throw mine on.
  8. Not enough experience with skyline turbos yet, but I always thought that ceramic wheels were good for up to approx 14 psi, and steel wheels.......well, depends how big your Gary Gonads are
  9. CORRECT........nothing worse than an unexpected lean surge at high rpm. Water temp gauge doesn't always tell you what's going on in the cylinders.
  10. Yeah you're right........never saw too many reds when I was looking for silver or grey, they must be almost as rare as the yellows.
  11. I looked into the various colours before buying mine and this what I found: Early model GTR's (and V-Specs) = white, black, purple, grey, blue and yellow. Late model NUR's, V-Spec II & M-Spec = pearl, champagne & silver + some of the above colours. Unfortunately the late model stuff with low kms and in good condition still pulled close to 100K or sometimes more. The most popular colour early models at the Jap Auctions (and therefore usually the dearest) were definitely grey and maybe yellow (yuk) possibly because yellow is pretty rare. I don't know how accurate this info is but I reckon it would be pretty close because I had to wait for over 6 months to get a low km silver V-Spec in good cond for the right $$. Whites, blues, purples and blacks usually went for a few $$ cheaper.
  12. Don't do it!!!!!
  13. Followed SLY 032 @ 1.00 pm today heading north on Goody Rd, Daw Park for a short distance...........nice wheels! Wasn't in my 34.....was in a sedan? with black windows. Starting to really like the look of 32's!!

    Merry Xmas

    Here, here.............it just becomes, ------mas.....confusion!
  15. Yeah thanks for the good info Bunny. I went through a similar exercise when I was building the bike earlier this, wondering whether to use a filter with or without an anti drain back valve. In the case of certain V-Twins though, it depended on whether I was using a scavenging oil pump or not....I eventually worked it out. Wrong filter in an S&S motor could kiss away 1650cc of crated motor.
  16. Hey Dave....I didn't realy pay attention to your post before but it sounds like good info....thanks for the heads up.
  17. Gee.....I must have hit a bit of a nerve there pkblade. I didn't mean to offend you in anyway and I'm sure your a nice guy but honestly, have another read of your recent post.....you like the word 'codswallop', I think 'dribble' might be more appropriate. You seem to make alot of rash statements without qualifying anything so I assume it's based on your personal experience. I've based everything on documented evidence by people who have spent millions in testing and as far as testing fluids on chalk rather than cheese, GMH and every other large car manufacturer have been doing this on the race track for years before attempting anything in a passenger car. It stands to reason that subjecting oil to the extremes of a Mack truck and top fueler or a Formula 1 is the best test possible.....how do recommend these billion dollar international companies should conduct their testing then? I'm not sure what your backgound is or what experience you've had but since you asked, at Adelaide Engine Service we used to do alot of the testing of friction modified oils vs the likes of Redex, Repco's non-friction modified (many years ago, probably before you were born) because of the excessive oil consumption in brand new Jap cars especially 4cyl Datsuns. We put out a white paper to the MTAA about our findings and it wasn't long after that Repco, Southcotts and the RAA began to warn about the dangers of some oils and there effects in new bores. Over recent years it hasn't been as crucial due to the different methods, materials and honing of bores (ie cross hatching at various angles and grades etc). By the way, if you don't like experimenting with your kitchen glasses, try baked bean cans.......same results. I probably shouldn't have responded to this post either, but ahhhh how much more can a koala bear?!

    Tuners

That's interesting.........I've got some -5's ready to go on with a PFC, full fuel, cams and intercooler upgrade so I'm hoping to pull at least those figures myself. Oh.....and a Kakimoto full dual N1 exh. Did you have to do many other mods to get those figures?
  19. Might be time to flush the dunny and put something different in there buddy.
  20. Saw a girl in a red 33 on Sturt Road at about 3.30 pm today as she was about to turn into Westfields Marion..........anyone here?
  21. Well you know what Bunny33 said on the previous page.......she may have a point there Hillzy.

    Tuners

I've had free horsepower before as well at other places.........the problem is, the way they usually get is by tuning your ECU to the point where they thin out the AFR's too much to the point of Too Lean and sometimes Detonation.......I always prefer slightly conservative tunes and my engine thanks me for it. CORRECT.
  23. Yeah I thoroughly agree Mike....I can't wait to dump all the oils and coolant and start fresh.
  24. Not again lol!!!! Thats twice in 1 week now.........I was down there about 1 hour earlier but saw rain coming and didnt wanna get caught on 2 wheels........saw a few bogan chicks down there though
  25. On a slightly different note Dean, I don't know how far back you go but you may remember some of the old fellas from Speedway Park and even further back, Rowley Park Speedway, like Dean Hogarth and old Dud lambert. I worked for Adelaide Engine Service for almost 20 years where we used to do alot of the machining for the speedway boys........we even had a push car down there, the old orange Adelaide Engine Service XW Falcon Ute. Ahhhhh they were the days.
