  1. Stationary on Torrens Rd, West Croydon today and tooted a few Lines driving past. Got a few weird looks because I was in the work car with black windows. Saw 1x 32, 0x 34's and about 11x 33's..........they're almost as common as Commys.........well, maybe not that common.
  2. Possibly....he's got about 4 kids.
  3. No I don't....no one usually stays in that sort of work for more than 10 years because of all the hazzards. Back in those days a few of the guys I worked with were associated with outlaw clubs but the new licencing laws have pretty much wiped that out now. Mark Rau who owns Total Control is an ex tiger and he lives up in the NE burbs so it may have even been him in those days. I started work with him in 1990 (after a few years of uniform security) when he only had about 6 guys working for him.......he's now got 100's on the books and even did major events like Big Day Out for many years......I did the BDO for 3 years straight and hated it!
  4. Yeah thanks for that. I'm thinking that the 1 inch lower height for the R34 GTR's is probably more to do with the guard shape rather than the overall height. Wonder why then that the turbo's have a different ride height in the same body style.
  5. I gave up hotel & club security in the mid 90's for this very reason.......10 years of it was enough! Last time I caught up with my mate who owns Total Control Security Agencies, he said that it gets worse every year. Amazing the difference I used to encounter between business men entering a hotel at 5.00pm and the same blokes 5 hrs later........like Dr Jekyl & Mr Hyde! Knocking off from a club at 5.00am Sunday morning with a gang waiting for you in the car park wasn't much fun either.
  6. Hey chops......I got my R34 GTR through inspection last week and spoke to Paul from Vehicle Standards at Regency 1300 882 248 first to find out the minimum heights. He said that the R34 Turbos were 340 Front & 345 Rear.......Non turbos might be different. Rang him again 10 minutes ago and asked him about R32 & R33.......he said 345 Front & 355 Rear.......again, Non turbos might be different because he couldn't find a listing for GTR's but wanted to know if it was Turbo or not. So now it begs the question, are ride heights for single turbos different to twin turbos?.....who knows how these guys operate.......probably varies with each inspector and how he translates the rules.
  7. Are you referring to your daytime profession or the gaps between the bathroom tiles when dealing with tinea?!
  8. white 33 driving thru Two Wells at 6.20 am. black 33 'JET 33T' (+trader plate) thru Two Wells at 8.35 am.
  9. Make sure you're wearing shoes and socks next time I see you........not thongs!!!!
  10. Could be a bit of an old wives tale but they reckon if you get someone to pee on your stings immediately it relieves the sting.
  11. Whole bunch of stuff....check page 1 of this thread.
  12. Yeah, I think you're both right. The shed at Sturt was about 50 degrees inside while the small office was air cond. While the one inspector (by himself) isn't inspecting, he sits in the small office and it was 10 minutes before closing time so I think he had enough for the day. He did ask to put my windows up 1/2 way so they are interested in things like tint and possibly anything else very obvious.
  13. Oh oh, I think I might need a lawyer. Did you note the time I made the offer.......I must have been sleep walking & sleep typing. me!! Never, never underrate fish n chips down at the bay, worked for me in my younger days.........just bring a couple of 'wet ones' with you, she might not like greasy fingers after.
  14. Had me worried there for a minute . Just did some research and found the standard turbos have a .53 housing (actually stamped on the turbos) where the -5 has a .60 & .64 respectively. The -10 has a .64 with an optional .86 housing (too laggy for street and too narrow power band). Also found out something interesting.....all new GT28 housings out of Garrett now are stamped 2560R but specs are still the same as 2860R....this straight from their website: For those familiar with our product range, this means that the unit formerly known as "the GT28R" (part number 466541-1) is now in the GT25R family. More specifically, it is now a GT2560R model. Surprised me thats for sure......probably because the wheels are just inside the guards that he didn't look or care about it.
  15. If you really get stuck writeoff and can't make up your mind with all these great suggestions, I'll lend you the SLED for a night and you can take her for a spin along the coastline.
  16. Here's a pretty good one that you could land for about 15k. Hope these attachments work. 17. Here's just a few sites I used to look for mine but some of them require log in membership unfortuantely.......idirect.co.jp is one of my favourites. http://www.japaneseusedcars.com/auction/auctions.htm http://www.carontrack.com/nissan/index.shtml http://www.monkys.jp/e/nissan_used_cars.htm http://australia.autoterminal.com/online_auction.asp http://www.idirect.co.jp/default.aspx If you're talking locally, you're probably right. If you're confident enough to get an agent to bid on one for you in Japan but bring it in yourself, you'll definitely get it alot cheaper.
  18. Sorry to whore this thread but I should mention that even though I have a 34, I really like the 32 GTR's and always have........so I'm abit biased. They look very tuff and after all they are the original Godzilla that destroyed the Group A class about 15 years ago. I'll try and shut up now.......sorry.
  19. Had a look at a couple of Jap Auctions and found a couple 1993 BNR-32's Grade 4.0 with B interiors and between 50 to 70 kms for around 7 to 8 million Yen. You would comfortably land a good one for between 15 -18k based on those figures.......then again there should be a few good ones already in the country, just depends how urgent you need a good one.
  20. That would be about right for a Grade 4.5 or 5.0 with an A interior.....and dont forget GST with import tax being calculated on top of the GST inclusive price (or maybe the other way around). Customs isn't much but compliance is about $4000 + tyres, freight about $1000 but for a car like that you would not go 'roll on roll off', you'd pay extra for a container.......all adds up pretty quick. You probably wouldn't want one anyway because if the cost of the car didn't kill ya the insurance would.
  21. WOW....you've spent some $$$$ by the looks of things. Last time I checked prices of good low km 2002 NUR (very rare) they were still pulling about 100k or more.
  22. Yeah I'd like 350 and anything extra would be cream. I'm still focused on keeping it streetable though hence the low mount turbos.
  23. Wanted to stay low mount so I've already bought a pair of GT2860R 707160 -5. No point in going top mounts or big single unless it sees the track or drag strip more than the street.
