Just some points for reinforcement that "Simon Says"...
* the types of beef mentioned are well balanced in the amino acid and B vitamin department. Beef jerky and mushroom jerky are good foods on the run.
* processed meats aka smallgoods like ham, bacon, sausages and even pressed the t-urkey load down the kidneys and liver and reduce the immune system to takeover by E Coli > HUS
* simple sugars/carbs > hypoglycaemia > slowing of metabolism aka BMR
* complex carbs like fruit are meant to be taken in season with local fruit. This is due to enzymes. Winter fruit enzymes help with immune system. Summer fruit enzymes help with skin. Most have antioxidants.
* sugar substitutes like 951 (aspartame) and 950 (acesulphame) can cause graves disease, gliomas, lymphomas, breast cancer. I never touch the stuff.
* alcohol reduces BMR (basal metabolic rate). If you get wind after beer or wine (fermented drinks), it's best to occasionally have distilled drink instead. Yeast sensitivity is common > take a course of probiotics every 3 months.
* oatmeal contains 2 substances that reduce the production of LDL cholesterol. Any person who's parents are on cholesterol meds should be taking oatmeal rolled + foods with strong vitamin B3
* the myth about the dangers of cholesterol in eggs has been debunked by Simon. Eggs contain good cholesterol (HDL) as well as bad (LDL). But the HDL/LDL ratio is very good in eggs.
* fried foods including Chinese are out (unless sautéed). Transfats are out. These should be replaced with essential fatty acids as in fish. For joints, salmon and swordfish are good. Steamed homemade Chinese I think is good. They say that throughout all the provinces of China, you could eat 3 meals a day for 13 years and not eat the same dish twice - lol
