  1. ^^^ Go to Featherdale Park (Doonside) before Charcoal House Cafe
  2. ^^^ Correct John Cadogan media advisor for NRMA is a big stickler for TRAFFIC FLOW. Sure, drivers may occupy a spot according to their perceived rights, but responsibility will always exceed rights! Responsibility for improved traffic flow is to complete your own overtaking manoeuvre and pull back into lane 2 or 1 in a multilane highway. John is also an advocate for "P" platers to be able to go up to maximum speed limits on highways/motorways to not disrupt traffic flow!
  3. One SAUer with a recently defected car about to contact you Yeedogga!
  4. It'll be good to comfort Lance's rellies tomorrow. I'm sure you'll generate an admirable send-off.
  5. To the extreme right of the Pic ^^^ (thanks Owen), there's "Premier Rentals". "Motor Active" ie. "Meguiar's" is just there. So there's easier access by following Holker St further down > Turn right into Slough Bus. Pk. > Building #35 is immediately on the left. There's plenty of parking opposite - as you can see from the picture. Thanks for the PM from Gavin aka 533_RYC. You're "IN" You too Danny (squareznboxez) & Matt (eagle_hawk)! Welcome, and feel free to apply for SAU Membership beforehand!
  6. Before you get this cleared, can you PM Yeedogga? He's a traffic lawyer here on SAU and he's building a "test case". And let us know how things pan out if you can?
  7. ^^^ the car doesn't have need to be from this forum does it eh? It could be sourced from anywhere - albeit recent and defects not cleared? Regards Tez
  8. Your mechanic is your friend. If there IS definite proof get your mechanic to write a letter with an itemised list of telltale signs like powdered vaporised rubber on undercarriage (if you haven't already washed it off), worn tyres with macro shots etc. You yourself could ask neighbouring business owners if they see any apprentice fanging cars from the panelbeating workshop next door and particularly with a pic of your car. Wipe some powdered rubber with a finger and take a macro shot of wiped surface + your black powdered finger juxtaposed. A macro shot of feathering or shredding or rippling on the tyre is good. > Fair Trading One of my former cars was taken to a panelbeater and finished up with bent valves. > Fair Trading But hey! What are you claiming for? Just a set of tyres? Or is it the principle of the thing? Is it worth a day off from wk? In the case of the blown engine above - it definitely is! In your case, will it be just a Phyrric victory? Umm; maybe 'rattling the sabre' will work to get you a new set of tyres if the panelbeater doesn't want to go to Fair Trading eh? At least, present him with the evidence - yours, the mechanic's and the pics. The worst he could say is GTFO...
  9. 1) raising the car (as stated above) is a must 2) check rolling diameter of wheel/tyre combo with specs or a mate's gtst to see if tyre profile is correct You know what the minimum height is off the ground don't you?

    Howdy

Well I'm at home Genelle rather than stay at Sussex Inlet I don't think my air filter could take the smoke there atm Enjoy the coast and lounge around with the seals on Montague I. Any fires near Ulladulla?
  11. 'Tis quite difficult Bill, to find a 6.5TME in top condition is it not? I must admit, I've taken my eye off those in the past couple of years!
  12. Hi Peter, I think most people who have dailys will be using them anyway. The Business Park entry is suitable for low lip cars The whole evening will be under one roof. Just come in > turn right to the kitchen. The Talks will be held just next to the kitchen. The Demonstrations will be held in Meguiar's Garage at the back. List has been updated - thanks guys!

    Damn Hot Huh?

THIS ... deserves to be on a new page!!! So just reiterating... * Donate through Salvos * Donate through Red Cross * Plan your next holiday to Tassie
  14. ...when I'm behind the wheel thinking, "Why can't they make all cars like this?"
  15. Re: Defecting Your Car (in a fashion you object to)... If you've recently had a car defected around Sydney and have yet to have it cleared, read the following!!! Please contact or PM "Yeedogga" as soon as you can whilst he prepares a "Test Case"
  16. I've read the OP a few times now + I've read the responses. A few things have been clanging around my cranium and still, I can't find a solution - at least not in 2013. The OP talks about "classics" and there's the suggestion of "rarity" or lack of. What makes a car a "classic"? * Is it rarity? Well you can own an Edsel and it wouldn't. Then again, you could own one of two Phase IVs and of course it would! * Is a classic something that transcends the boundaries of a country? An R32 GTR might be in at least 10 countries - maybe more. But would an XU-1 or an SLR5000 be so highly regarded in perhaps 3? * And then money and value came up in this thread. Would a classic be based on how much a car has appreciated over its off-the-showroom-floor price? After all a Datsun 1600 in original condition is now worth 6x its original. * The word concours came up. Even some debate about the definition of the word. Does a classic need to be in concours condition? Well if one could resurrect a Chassis 3 Grp A R32 GTR and straighten it out despite metal fatigue here and there plus a coat of paint > fully restored; would it then be a classic? * Is a classic a car with pedigree? The way a car could become an icon whether it be on a racing track or how it changed R&D of all future cars. Could a Mustang be one of these, even though a R32 GTR has the upper hand by far in the way a car could handle many more roads under all conditions? * Or could a classic be one of those things that a motoring editor from Fast Fours can project into the future, the way that a 1989 editor from Wheels mag did when he nicknamed the R32 GTR? * Or is it simply street cred that makes any young fellah want to have one? I don't know! I'm only guessing - but I suspect a classic to be a bit of all the above: but I don't have a solitary clue about how much each of those points contribute! All I know is, that not one single point above makes a car a "classic"!

Appreciate the update + hope your tired bodies get some rest when you can!

    Damn Hot Huh?

Searching for bodies now... But hey,...; mobiles can't be charged up whilst the power is down.
  19. You're creative... Why not photoshop some stripes on your car pics here and we can see? Stripes are fashionable. Sometimes the fashion is in: sometimes it's out. Your wife seems to be able to recall when they were in, a long long time ago... > then went out.
  20. Work of art! "...belongs in a museum"

  22. Being fined for driving an unregistered vehicle - and then arguing innocence from responsibility is one thing. But being injured whilst driving a car with an elapsed rego; henceforth, an elapsed CTP Inurance is another. If your passengers are injured whilst in a car that has an elapsed CTP, do you think the insurance company is going to feel sorry and help out? Becoming a paraplegic after an accident, and its ensuing consequences (of time, cost, perhaps pain and inconvenience), are going to far outweigh the cost of a farkin' fine. Keep up your rego (with its prerequisite CTP) folks! And remember:- Buying a grey import from an importer involves registration and CTP after compliance/blue slip. DO NOT DELAY THAT!!! EVERY DAY OF DELAY IS A RISK!!!
  23. Please excuse fatz for his dearth of tact. He has two reputations of which tact is one of them. The other one is truth.
  24. JapLink Motors has relocated to 23 Bridge St Rydalmere. Ph 0425.773682 Website needs to be updated. * they only specialise in car sales via special orders from USA & Japan * service work is of a high standard with 2 full-time Japanese technicians and no apprentices * concentration on RBs, EVOs and rotaries take up much of their time with good diagnostic skills * compliancing, blue slips and pink slips * prepurchase inspections Reputation? They've honoured every warranty item that I've required off them (after the purchase of 2 cars there) - and their service has been prompt with all care given.
