...I did read that the Hybrid coolers flow real well with very little pressure drop even at some big numbers. But when you look at the inlet temp at the manifold its higher then you would like to see. Whats the general rule of thumb on inlet temps again? Its something like 10deg C is 1% of hp ?!?!?!? What is peoples experience of intercoolers and inlet temps? I have alway observed an inlet temp within 20deg of what my AC says is ambient temp. No idea if thats good or not...i know I have a HKS air filter and no cold air shroud around it

...and shall be showered with empty cans as they drive by

For the same turbo yes. But when people are running different turbos etc then the thermodynamics of each compressor vary greatly and I think its an assumption to thing that say a GT35R running 20psi will heat the inlet air more then -5s at 17psi
-
Single Trust goodness! Bugger off with weak ass Garret fluff. Honeywell should stick with making computers and leave turbos to Mitsubishi
-
So because this thread is full of sooks who want NA response and big block Chev amounts of torque rather then old school kick in the ass when the big single hits....I am curious to know of those making 400rwkws, what power are you making at 4,000rpm and 5,000rpm.

Was hoping to do Zandvoort in early August but have some other things coming up which means I can't be os until later that month. Zolder and Spa appear to be a good track for street cars with some grunt. I see the car still has plates. How is Holland for registration of modified cars. The cost to register cars in Belgium is rather scary.

Like he cares about this thread. Despite 180 pages of thread I think there are less than 8 setups/results that have been posted. More appropriate is to jump on ebay and give him a serve with customer feedback

What has boost pressure got to do with it? Its about the volume or air/airflow through the cooler and its ability to cool it with as low a pressure drop as possible. Coolers work efficiently when they have turbulent flow through them as all those excited air particles bounce off the wall of the intercooler and allow them to transfer heat. So by nature anything that cools will have a pressure drop across it. Otherwise a straight bit of pipe would offer less pressure drop , but of course nowhere near the cooling. So I suppose you can make the assumption that a turbo at 18psi may have cooler outlet temps then something spinning 22psi. But hp is hp and requires a certain amount of cfm to achieve. So whether its a 4L at 6,000rpm or a 2.6L at 8,500rpm...an intercooler doesnt care or know the difference. It just has to pass air and cool it

Send it off locally for a new turbine and balancing. Still works out to be a cheap turbo

Hey, thats Zandvoort. I will get my R32 over there one year to do a few European circuits. I imagine Zandvoort would be a touch circuit for a big, powerful Skyline! What sort of times are you doing around there? Any plans to do any upcoming events?

So is it a crack or just a casting imperfection? Pretty disappoininting. Maybe I should pull apart my 18G and have a close look at it

Many people just fiddle with cam gear setting and leave it where power/results suggest its working better on the assumption that the cam gear "0" position is TDC. Fact is some prefer to dial the cam in to TDC and then fiddle with the timing so that they accurately know if 2deg retarded is actually 2deg retarded, rather then just a nominal number that may not translate to TDC
-
If you are talking efficiency you really need to measure the temps in and out of the coolers, a bung either side to measure pressure drop would be handy as well.

Call me stupid but I went from this... to a std R34 cooler. I don't run my data logger these days so I cant compare the difference in inlet temps when running 20psi through the car. But Nick now runs my old ARC cooler and his car would be close to 360-380rwkws car so would be interesting to see how his temps and power differ from other Racepace cars that run std coolers. I know for my puny 260-275odd rwkws the std R34 cooler suits my application better. So the std GTR cooler is better then the ARC cooler in 400-450hp applications So whilst I am currently 25rwkws off 400hp at the wheels, I am close enough to the figure you mention that if the std R34 GTR cooler was indeed inferior to what many claim to be the best coolers on the market then you would have expected them to be about the same, or even the ARC to result in better power. The tube design is meant to flow better and offer less pressure drop, but again, with the std R34 cooler there was no difference in power and the response was better with the R34 cooler. Will have to see how it goes with the 73HTA being tuned on Thursday so should be making a tad over 400hp at the wheels and will tell you the inlet temps I see with it

I am told you can repair the files. I am going to put some on a USB and send them to Racerecall who have a pretty good success rate of un-corrupting the files
-
I had the same issue with my first Radcam. It died on me and the replacement has worked fine...inc not saving files when power/battery drops out. The batteries seem to take forever to charge and no time to die. I have two batteries, one works far better then the others. I know your frustration. I have lost laps at Spa, drive through Stelvio Pass in the Cossie...worst thing is battery says full, then 10mins later is dead and file corrupted. If the battery indicator was 1/3 then i would understand...but meh...my replacement unit works miles better than my original radcam

I suggest that anyone planning on welding their own cages do a few weld samples and send them off for destructive testing to make sure you are not going to skewer yourself on your scaffolding

Will be pushed or retire. He is showing glimpses but he isnt delivering more than Rosberg so the decision will have to be to get someone in their to develop and push Rosberg. Di Resta seems the obvious choice due to Mercedes ties and some great drives putting Sutil and now Hulk into the shade He will be worth just as much to Mercedes as a brand ambassador and can do more in that role when he isnt racing fulltime and the team are getting better results with two competitive drivers who are not wiping ends off cars every weekend

Most likely 3 titles, good leath, hot Mrs and young family. Move on...brave decision but probably the right one. Travel must suck the love out of it

Ooh. I think I am a 90% on this. 100% the seals in it are ok? -
So, 17 May 2012. I was the first to call it. Alguersuari will be at Force India in 2013. He is talking up his prospects or has he already signed a contract? http://www.planetf1.com/driver/18227...ck-next-season About the best guess I can come up with is that Di Resta is on the move to Mercedes and he has a seat at Force India

I have to start selling some of the stuff that I wont be using in the near term to fund a rebuild of my daily driver. Item: Gizzmo Launch Interface (IGN Cut), Gizzmo Dual stage Shift Light, Adapter Loom for RB25 Very good condition. Will run on just about any RB. Comes with adaptor loom, original packaging and manuals. I am selling it as my new ECU will do all this for me and want to simplify the wiring behind my kick panel. Price: $350ono $310ono Item: Momo Kevlar Race Seats with head wings. I have two, one has the middle wing cut off. (pictured below) Well past their FIA expirey but can still run it for club events or on your Playstation The seat that has one of its head restraints clipped is signed by Jason Bright and is his actual ex-HRT seat Selling both seats, one comes with alloy Momo side mounts and also Bride rail. Bride rail is rather rubbish. It has been gusseted but really needs futher bracing OR used as a template to make your own frame using stronger steel Price: $700 firm for both seats Item: Alcon Mono6 calipers These are not the same as those sold by PWR or the kits you generally see. They take a max rotor of 365 x 32mm. These Alcons are the model up which look the same to most people however take 376-410mm rotors that are 35mm thick. These are the best of Alcons street range of caliper but suitable to their motorsport range of rotors. Typical application of these calipers is Prodrive prepared GT4 cars Immaculate condition Price: $2400 firm (for $4300 will supply with 380x35mm rotors/hats with billet mounts. You will need to supply lines and pads, will take about 2-3 weeks to build up the kit) Item: Genuine Trust T67-25G Does not come with a turbine housing. Can supply Greddy 8cm or 10cm housing at additional cost, but figure most people will use on a T3 style manifold so going to keep the Greddy specific 3 bolt turbine housings. Brand new, never used. (Can get whatever sized T3 housing off Kando/ebay for $150) Price: $1800 firm Item: Genuine Trust TD06H-25G turbo With 10ch Greddy 3 bolt turbone housing. Only done dyno work so like new (Can get whatever sized T3 housing off Kando/ebay for $150 if you want to run T3 rather than Greddy 3 bolt type housing) Price: $1650 firm Item: Genuine NEW Tomei 82mm RB24 pistons Increase bore to 82mm. Part No. 1112820112. To be used in conjunction with RB26 crank and rods to make an RB24 Price: $1450 ono Item: Tomei RB20DET Poncams Near new and come with original packaging Price: $700ono Item: Tomei RB20DET / VG30DETT Valve Springs For use with Procams or 10.35mm lift cams. Price: $350 ono Item: Volk GT-P rims Rears are 17 x 9 +22, fronts are 17x8 +16. Good to fair condition, always planned to re clear coating them as there are marks on the clear coat. But just sitting around taking up space. Can take pics on demand Price: $1100 ono Indicative pic below...note: picture is not of the actual rim Item: HKS RB20/25 cast iron low mount manifold No gate, but comes with HKS folded sheet heat shield. Like many has a small crack in the divider at the flange that bolts to the turbo. Wont be gutted if this doesn't sell as this is something that if I clear some of the other bits first will be removed from sale SOLD Price: $500 ono SOLD Item: Brembo F40 R32/33 kit Brembo F40 calipers with Endless pads, 332x32 cross drilled rotors that are in good condition. Comes with lines and mounts etc. Have had this laying around as a spare kit for when I am playing with brakes on the car as they have proven to be the baseline for what I think make a great basis of comparison too. Price: $2100ono Item: Koyo R32 GTR Radiator Brand new , unopened and still in box. Price: $600 Prefer pick ups but happy to arrange postage at buyers expense

Rather than send emails, if you are serious about buying one just give him a call. You will have a manifold in 2 weeks. Either that or try http://www.braeautofab.com/
