  1. Will post up a graph in a few days but looks like when I head to PI in 3 weeks it will be with 306rwkws of TD06-20G powah! Needs 23psi and United E85 to make that power. But still std cams, 6boost exhaust manifold and Plazmaman inlet with std sized throttle body and R34 GTR intercooler. So the only real change has been the corn syrup and leaning on the tune and turbo some more with extra 4psi. Need to really go over the cooling systems before the day and make sure that the oil cooler gets its shrouds back and hook back up my data logger to ensure that I understand what the temps are doing.
  2. Good work on the PS pump. I have been keeping an eye out for an R33 or R34 pump but have not been able to find a cheap one
  3. Any news on the cams and Vipec?
  4. I have not run my data logger in years and lost all the data I did have with an old laptop. Its all getting re-wired over the next few weekends and will see what its doing. I am tempted to drop the sump and throw a ~2mm shim in the oil pump. Going to drop the rev limit to around 6,800-7,000rpm so that will hopefully keep it together
  5. Yeh, but I would hate for it to die because oil pressure was getting a bit lazy due to wear and tear. I am going to have a look and see if i can squeeze some shims in there with the sump off it
  6. It is sad. The UK has a whole industry around club motorsport and enthusiasts and they dont close down tracks to build housing developments and their population is 3 times Australias and their land mass barely NSW. Yeh , no other land available
  7. So these gears work ok on a std sized RB20 crank. I am in two minds of whether I should just throw a washer in my current oil pump or grab some gears and shim it up and put higher spring in it whilst it is off the car. But not touching engine so cant do anything about the std RB20 crank. We are talking band aids here for taking a std wrecker engine to power and boost levels even I am not comfortable with
  8. The 25G wheel is 15% bigger than the 20G wheel, so with the little 69.7 mm stroke of the RB20 and 8.5:1 compression, like i posted above I dont see the RB20 doing a bang up job of getting the most out of the T67. That's why I grabbed the 73HTA wheel, it is only 7% bigger but is lighter so stands a chance of spooling as well, if not better than the 20G wheel. But for now I have decided I am going to shelve the plans for the 73 HTA and see if the lil std motor can handle the corn syrup and the power it makes with the 20G for a few track days. I figure 306rwkws is a decent enough step from the power I was previously running and now getting into the area where I am less confident about how well a std engine with at least 60,000kms (i have put those 60,000kms on the wrecker engine) will do with that sort of grunt, boost and revs
  9. That Cusco car is an abomination...here is to hoping that good looking cars prevail over cars done by aerodynamicists who are doing finger paintings of race cars with their 5yr olds
  10. Do you mean triple core or triple pass? Will check the part number for you and get back to you. Hopefully that will tell you what you need to know
  11. They are cheap as chips and for that money if they line up and work correctly you cant go wrong. In fact at that money you can think about going to a pretty good quality rotor and still getting out of the upgrade for less then $1000
  12. But when you factor in the power people are making , you are asking the lil 20G wheel to flow around 590cfm or 42lbs ...if you look at the compressor map thats right at the end of its efficiency. Sure the E85 will help it along....but a turbo can only flow so much air. So the whole more power at less boost? If you are already making 280rwkws, by more power do you mean 5-10rwkws at 2 or sp psi less???
  13. That is still the funniest in car video ever to come from a track day EVER
  14. If I can sell some of my fluff laying around I could quite possible give the T67-25G a nudge. The crime will be is if I run it with E85 and the 10cm housing I will instantly losing $300-500 as it is brand new. Think I will have enough trouble selling them with the Kando things running around but not fussed. Some of the gear I dont really want to sell, just need to move enough to clear up some funds for further work on the R32 and Cossie rebuild
  15. The PIARC Supp Regs state : NOTE: Both days are 95 dB(A) noise limited - Full Race noise allowed days. Don’t miss out They want me to go down there and make NOISE! err I mean music!
  16. I don't get this "pumps hotter air" that I am reading in threads lately. Where is it coming from? You spin the same turbo harder for more boost and you will often get higher inlet temps courtesy of compressing the air. The intercooler's job is to remove that heat, which whilst isnt 100% efficient ...will remove the bulk of the higher temps if sized correctly. By the time you add fuel, compress and ignite it I cant see the inlet temps having a dramatic impact on the exhaust temps...it will affect the hp but surely it is negligible with regards to EGT Then you have the hot side and EGT. They can be higher due to the A/F you are running, the cam and ignition timing etc. Oor higher due to exhaust back pressure in the turbine housing or exhaust system as a whole. So unless you all go and plumb EGT sensors into your dump pipe with a pressure sensor in the scroll of the turbo then I dont think anyone can comment on whether somehting is fine or not as we dont know the numbers. I know on my old 20G setup with a 10cm housing that the pressure readings I was getting suggested that the housing was too big. My 8cm housing doesnt have a tapping for a pressure gauge so have never measured it...though my TD05-18G 8cm housing does so will be measuring it when I am playing with that setup
  17. I have not bothered as the 20G with a 10cm housing was too big for an RB20. So I am betting a 25G would be rather ordinary on a 20. Would probably make a good number, but would make less than 200rwkws at 5,200rpm If i had a freshly built RB20 that I knew was well balanced and had a good oiling system it would be probably a decent enough thing to spin up between 5,500-9,000rpm.
  18. Some more info on the RB25DE: RB25 NA head from an R32 1.5mm oil restrictor in head Standard RB25 crank Upgraded Valves and springs - New Water Pump - Following bits have less than 5,000kms Gates Timing belt Oil pump Forged Rods Forged Pistons and rings ARP Headstuds Metal Headgasket I bought the engine because I needed a complete head, and have not even taken the sump off the engine to see if the internals were as per the claim. The engine does have a head gasket, does have ARP head studs etc from inspecting it, If someone wants the engine, one of the Trust turbos and HKS manifold then will do a price in order to move it all...even better if you want the RB25 box and Exedy twin plate clutch with it
  19. I am a maybe. I am doing the PIARC weekend before and will be out of tyres so makes the following weekend an expensive track day Also, this is a problem..."A vehicle noise limit of 75dB(A) to 30 metres drive-by will apply. No vehicle which exceeds this limit will be allowed to continue to participate." I have most of the bits for the new exhaust but wont be ready until July when I am unemployed with time to do stuff. If we are doing driver training I would like to come down and ride shotgun with people
  20. My RB20 runs a 20G. The rear footwell of the car runs a TD06-73HTA.. The boot is running a TD05H-18G. The 3rd shelf of my bookshelf runs the T67-25G whilst the bottom shelf runs a TD06H-25G . Will try 25psi with the 20G tomorrow and see how it all goes
  21. Nice to see the guys in their real skin http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sN7ODEvh-cQ&feature=player_embedded
  22. We knew it was going to happen, just wanted to try the corn juice to see if the engine liked it and whether it helped its tendency to ping. I think if nothing else this test has told me there is nothing magic about E85 and if you are out of compressor flow then you are out of compressor flow and E85 will only give you a few more killerwasps
  23. Just curious, mine are 2.5" and the numbers suggest that for 590cfm it should be fine with 2.5", but as always its interesting that the RB26 and GTR run 3" std
  24. Are you going to stick with 2.5" out of the IC into the plenum or go 3"?
