  1. LOL, for what its worth i run a dirty old HKS filter in my engine bay with no shielding just a duct to it I am going back to std airbox so I hope it isnt going to hurt power Yeh, I am betting its the length of pipe before the manifold. Some people have problems with the 6boost having boost creep when they plumb the gate down near the steering rack rather than high up near the collector. Thats the reason I got rid of my Trust Type R gate as it was too large to package near the collector.
  2. Got pics of the install? Often its the length of pipe between gate and collector more than the angle
  3. I see my little pulse of exhaust gas running down my exhaust manifold, hitting the turbine and bouncing off it. Only to pack up to go home at the prospect of spinning a 25G wheel.
  4. I think the lil 20G is flat out at 300-315rwkws depending on dyno and setup. Are you running cam gears? Love to see you back to back your car with an exhaust manifold now rather then play with a T67 Could end up no different but would be interesting
  5. Yeh, because this isnt helpful http://www.turbosmar...springchart.pdf Will just throw my SBC ID back on and do some secret squirrel cheap as mods to get the boost into it From what I am reading re Vipec the closed loop boost control isnt great so, since I have E85 going ok on the Power FC I am less convinced I need to go to another ECU
  6. Well this car is my daily and runs 26psi with an internal gate turbo so needs to be pretty good closed loop boost control as what is offered by the Pectel that it currently runs.(tuners and software for Pectel are few and far between) Also, who is the cheapest V44 dealer ?
  7. Can you clarify? How much work is it to get it right? ($$$) This has been an interesting read as my YB Cosworth needs a new ECU to replace its Pectel. I just dropped in to the Vipec forum and it seems there is still regular questions about boost control, traction control, comms to PC issues and some sensor issues. It still seems to be the go for backyard boffins who are willing to work through little issues to get reliably working.\
  8. Webber has already has signed for Ferrari I think what is far more likely is Di Resta to Mercedes and Jaimie back with Force India.
  9. Dennis has been at almost every GP since the road car side of the business actually punched out a road car.
  10. Disagree...If you do plumb it back to the sump then at least put a valve on it. You want to be able to observe how much blow by you are getting and if the oil is draining back then you dont have the opportunity to monitor. Myabe with a valve you can simply open the valve and drain it back at the end of a session. Also, catch cans are open to atmosphere generally and fill up with condensation and rubbish in a rarely driven track car that is only being turned over to move around factory or put on trailers etc.
  11. Its probably time for a sump and oil pump to try and get max life out of the crate engine
  12. Last year I think there was a place for DRS, but with this years tyres i think the DRS takes it all a little too far. The fact that Romain on similar tyres could sail past Alonso etc means its a little too contrived
  13. Have you done any testing of the kit? Any on board or footage of a car not running ABS? Do EVOs run the same pedal ratio as Nissans?
  14. Canada delivers! I am off to Canada to find a Mrs! Third from the left...large serving, with respect
  15. Hurry up and get some footage up. Massive congrats on the time today
  16. You have to think that in the warmth of Valencia the Lotus will be quick and we could see an 8th winner in Romain or Kimi
  17. Well I have been in and driven a few cars with the Greddy inlet plenum and as a package the cars have been animals. One runs 2530s the other T518z. Be an interesting comparison as loads of 9sec drag cars run the Greddy Plenum....and yeh, yeh , yeh you are all going to go on about drag cars and response....well at least drive a car with a Greddy plenum before you knock it
  18. Grosgean continues to deliver the quali speed...ditto Dan. Hope they can get their races together
  19. Webber P5 after the first run...hope he can put it on the front row on his second run. COME ON MARK!
  20. And whilst Macs are tripping over their d1cks in F1 they are not doing much better in GT1 This is a phenomenal lap too http://www.formula1.com/video/?uid=2012052706R
  21. Senna is going to find himself coming under rather close scrutiny soon. I am pretty confident in saying Rubens would have smashed his performances to date in the same car....and Williams will be having to look very hard for any signs of promise in light of the fact they have a competitive car and yet Senna has had some rather poor showings. I like the guy and want to see him do well...but A bit like Dan, I think he needs some strong showings in the next few races and that French Fellow (FF) is doing a great job in the races
  22. Can you shoot me a PM with your mobile number? I will take the airbox and throttle body off you. I am driving back from country Vic Friday afternoon so should be able to swing by and pay/collect
  23. Good things its a long weekend in Melbourne. I can can up all night and try to stay coherent for Webber making 2 from 2!
