  1. To the best of my knowledge (95% sure) the engine is 100% internally std inc cams. It has a 6 boost split pulse manifold, 1:06 A/R turbine housing, Jun copy plenum and that's about it to go along with the 3076
  2. There is a lack of good looking women in my parts, but have car shit up to my ears. By product of being single and not having a mortgage A friend recently went the E85 route for his track only R32 GTSt (c/w dirty RB25). Perhaps his 3076 has a little more flow potential then the 20G but i suspect you could give 320-330 a nudge on E85 based on his result I am going to give E85 a nudge as my car is very sensitive to ignition these days so talk is it would benefit more than some on E85. I suspect I wont get a back to back result with the 20G, rather the 73HTA wiht 98 vs E85 as I am praying that this lump of alloy isnt a steamer like everything else I have thrown at my car the past 24 months
  3. What did he write about the Sierra's. I only learned to read at 15yrs of age
  4. LOL, You guys are as defensive about the modded std manifold route as I am with people who sh1t on RB20s Each setup and approach has its merit and advantages, and each have their disadvantages. I am not pissing in anyones pocket with this statements but in my eyes Artz result is about the most impressive in this thread. The power and response using 98 with a modified std manifold is damn impressive. It will be real interesting if with the new clutch and some more boost how the result will change. And I am by no means a high mount for all occasions guy. I was rather disappointed in the results of my 6boost manifold not being able to match my Greddy manifold. Others may have the same or different result...but for me I was disappointed. There are reasons why I like the high mount option, but many why I don't which is why I have a HKS low mount manifold laying around in my parts bin to be used if current engine goes bang. I am told tuners can tell when a setup is working well by how engines respond to different levels of fuel, ignition, boost etc. If back pressure and levels of ignition the engine can take are not holding you back then I doubt there is much to be concerned about. Since my general thinking is 280rwkws (some dynos are different) is about the limit of the 20G wheel on 98 then in your case the setup works well and its doubtful there is much value in doing anything to it other then some more boost vs returns.
  5. I always read his site as he often gives an alternate perspective/insight into things. You read it long enough you realise he has his pet agendas but still posts plenty of interesting insight into the "world of F1" rather then just the usual races and cut and paste articles so many other F1 sites have
  6. I don't think the temp of the inlet charge makes jack all difference to the temp and pressure of exhaust gases. I suspect it is more a function of back pressure from the modified std manifold (assuming Artz is running a 10cm housing). I have made my thoughts pretty clear on the std manifold in the past. They get the job done, but at at the sort of power many are making I think you make the power easier with a better exhaust manifold, and often more power and with snappier throttle response.
  7. Man, listen to the Lotus Propaganda machine roll into town. A $30 million loan means nothing in my book. If it was a straight up sponsorship of 30million over multiple years then perhaps it starts to look like they are serious....otherwise....I really hope Kimi and Romain start kicking goals and get some money into the team with results
  8. Interesting, a friend had HKS cams in his RB25 that deleted the VCT and its always dangerous to judge and form an opinion on the basis of one car but perhaps there was maybe a difference in throttle response and maybe 100-200rpm, hard to tell with the change in cams...but not 500-1000rpm. I would expect the 500cc, 0.5 bump in compression and VCT would at least give you at least a 500rpm improvement
  9. What about something like a VW Caravelle or Mercedes Vito? I am looking at one as a camper/tow car.
  10. Yeh, between United and Caltex it will be pretty easy for me to run E85 now. I am still going to just use Datalogit to switch back to ULP for daily duties and making sure I dont have E85 just sitting around in the tank and lines when I am away with work etc. So can someone start to explain the difference between Artz's RB5-20G result and DVS JEZ's? Surely VCT and tweaking a tune doesnt make 1,000rpm difference in response???? I ask because I have read that on some setups E85 can make a setup spool a little slower....have not seen any cases of it yet and wondering if its a factor in this case
  11. A beef injection may fix that lazy eye. Wolff may not have the goods to get the job done
  12. Friend is getting married...but the good thing is the car will finally be ready so will be up for whatever comes up in May.
  13. You better not pull out that 8yr old keyboard joke! Plus , if so you have it wrong. The story goes Button injured in terrible F1 crash
  14. Are people really trying to compare 550-580rwhp setups to a 730rwhp setup? That above plot looks damn encouraging with 300rwkws at 5,250rpm and hammer time all the way to 8,500rpm.
  15. Liuzzi is a strange one. he sucked next to Klien. He sucked next to everyone that sat next to him at STR. He ucked at FI. Disco Dan showed him up last year....but first race out he did real well in the V8 Superstars round and it suggests his Jr category success was no fluke. He cant be all there mentally and is obviously not able to function well in F1 which suggests he may be best developing his career in another series. Roll on a Webber win this weekend. I suppose its the 3rd round of the year so I should start putting my tips in
  16. Why not just run a Greddy plenum? They have a loyal following with the drag GTR fraternity in Aus/Japan and NZ so you cant go too far wrong with one
  17. LOL, too many results with no VCT Interesting to note that the RB25, even with its extra displacement and half a point of compression doesn't really spool the TD06-20G 10cm as well as an RB20 running an 8cm housing. Will be interesting the difference the VCT makes. Would love to see the engine tuned on 98 instead of corn fuel, but if you have access to E85 and car is tuned for it understand why you wouldn't bother with 98. I don't expect tuning along with E85 can see the result go from 17psi at 4,500rpm to the 21 psi at 4,000rpm of my graph above?!?! Then again I dont know dyno tricks 101 so perhaps there is something different to how the cars were loaded/run on the dyno. But my thing with no EBC and a simple but effective bleed valve which was holes in a bit of fuel line to bleed pressure gave me 21psi at 4,000rpm. Seems both engines are making ~130rwkws at 4,000rpm so the turbo isnt working as hard as you would expect at 4,000rpm on the RB25. The above graph was not on my tuners dyno, and it was a comparo against one of the tuners cars other setups so it is at least a fair comparison to the other curve which was an RB20 running a HKS GT-RS. Maybe the 10cm housing it a tad too big for the 20G compressor as the curve seems to have the BIG turbo shape of still climbing at the rev limit vs the bell curve look I would have expected of a 20G on an RB25.
  18. Just because...
  19. http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/topic/395003-circuit-semi-slicks/ A guy at Phillip Island ran the AO50s on the Saturday at PI and then the Hankooks on the Sunday. He seemed to think the Hankooks were quicker. He did go quicker on the Hankooks on the Sunday but I am not convinced as Troy was from Newcastle and only had limited running and was still getting his head around the track and his car problems over the weekend. Including popping his engine early on Sunday morning http://www.natsoft.com.au/cgi-bin/results.cgi?13/11/2011.PHIL.Q1 1_25_AHRG___Troy Fraser____Nissan 200SX_1:44.2561*
  20. The lithium batteries are pretty awesome, but for a road/efi track car you really need the expensive ones which are around $1100. The cheaper ones are perfect for carby race cars that don't have electric ignition systems, headlights, electric thermo fans etc. I cant justify that sort of money so was a little gutted to throw the basic, ie heavy dry cell battery back into my car
  21. Danny Bahar is a total disgrace. All these fly by night millionaires with plans for world domination...as long as they dont have to spend his own money, or actually do anything
  22. That looks pretty neat. Is it registered? Any more details of the car. For the right starting point I have been interested in a DR30. Would have to sell the Sierra to finish the build but could front the cash to buy a good registered DR30
  23. Well, all my guns are loaded for a Sandown at the end of April so have a little over 3 weeks to get the car back from Sydney, new tyres, new 73HTA turbo installed and tune on E85. Wont have time to make my exhaust so will have to hope the EPA are nice to me and I dont get pinged for noise again Real keen to see if the billet wheel makes much of a difference. From there the next step will be whether the Kando billet is much chop
  24. So i hear the white Willal GTR has some issues at the Hill Climb. Not sure if the fire came before or after crash. Hope the damage isnt too bad
  25. Champion , I just threw it up on Facebook. I was 6920. Be great to see France get an F1 round next year, but for gods sake fark off Bahrian, China, Valencia etc... NOT Spa!
