  1. Why not 9.5"? They fit the 265/35R18 RE55 a lot better then the 9" wheel? You can still get SR2,WT2, SR compunds in that size. Thats what i really want to run but i have std guards:(
  2. Shoudl also think about putting a speical flashing light on the roof. See how many people start copying it....tell them its gives you a crucial few tenths as it bends times and space or something. Big wings will psyche out the competition DO IT !
  3. Item: RB26 Arias Pistons and Eagle Rods Age: New To Fit: Any car that can swallow RB series of engines Location: Melbourne Contact: Troy via PM Comments: The lounge room sale continues. OR Arias 87mm pistons $1170 Eagle RB26 Rods $680 Can arrange delivery. LOL buy this gear before i blow up the RB20 and end up needing it and another block
  4. But if you dont enter then you cant win any trophies. Which means when Snowie and i fight for the front seat i cant be blamed for smashing your trophies
  5. Great vid. I remember watching all those Grp A races and the early days of the V8s (Mezeras big one under the bridge) and thought like Amaroo Park it was gone for good. So stoked that i will get to drive it, hopefully next thhis time next year. That said, the car looks nicely balanced and damn quick. You do a stellar job of piuloting it to, good apexes, consistant lines, and not overdriving the car like i do
  6. I hear you Gary, Im just in the dumps because for the first time in my life i dont have the spare cash to track the car, let alone mod it. I cant begin to understand Dunan's (and others) frustration with his GTR , as with me its not frustration its dead set depression Adz, not to worry about disappointing...i cant be, its just an interesting social experiment. You are the better steerer and have the better basis of a car...so be a better indication of car then me still under driving mine a little. I still believe some of the times other Vic guys are getting are just within reach of a GTSt Aaron at PI though 1:44 , lol cant see those times being matched anytime soon
  7. So is anyone doing it this year. People are telling me that numbers are low and sponsors are pulling out. For all the talk around of OS rounds etc etc it seems odd they are neither runnin the OS rounds or all the usual state rounds. For Vic its only weeks away, which is strange as its only been 6 months since the last one
  8. We swapped keys, he drove my car for a session and i drove his. We both agreed that my car was a little more dull but had more grip and the times it did showed. Hios car was tighter and dartier, but less grip and slower. Could have been tyres, alignment etc etc. So, meh, not sure how much water my point holds. Before after times etc always make a good indication rather then seat of pants
  9. Exactly, the dollars required to get the next 2-3 seconds out of my car are huge. At present with no mods i know the car has another 1.5 seconds in at every track i have been to...so the gain is more like a real 1.5-2 seconds with better power, chassis/suspension and removing the non functioning air con and other crap that i have in teh car (hicas, amps, stereo, sound deadening). The engine and geabox alone will be about 12k. Then i have to hope i have the brass tacks to drive it. I will sit back and see the time Adz punches out. I honestly believe the only thing stopping me from doing those times is some more practice at those tracks and a more usable 280-300rwkws. But i cant afford track days at present let alone another round of mods... But i will let Adan test my thinking. To date i havent been wrong with my lap time predictions Yeh, i am a shocker for talking way too much. But i at least try and quantify my experiences and thinking, and in these sorts of discussions i am sincere...but couldnt give two farks if i end up wrong or proven wrong. Actually i would love to be proven wrong as much as i would like to be right, at the end of the day at least we all end up spending our money a bit wiser/better. Though my car is a long way from being "special" quick, its respectable. And lots of people still have trouble believing the times and mods i run...its interesting to think that there is still time left in it and where do i go from here. If a car like Adz's R32 or Sydneykids R32 are only 2-3 seconds quicker...though a huge margin, in my eyes is not worth the spend. If they are 4-5 seconds quicker then i need to get busy rolling old ladies at the shopping centre LOL, im rambling...need another scotch and drambuie
  10. Yeh but Wakefield is a funny one. I havent been there since moving to Melb 4 years ago, but based on the 1:13.4 on old Yoko DNA tyres, the Whiteline kit you put in it and 140rwkws and a driver still improving....i quietly think i could do 1:06s, definitely sub 1:08s. LOLm what i want is a teen at Sandown, a 1:35 at Winton and a 1:47 at Phillip Island. I think i could almost get those times with another few set of tyres and a bit more tweaking of what i have....but thats 10k worth of fuel, tyres and entry to events that i just cant justify for 12-18 months So stoked to see your car will be getting out there and Adz will be giving his RB25 R32 GTSt a red hot go...its just a shame you call cheated and binned the RB20
  11. I doubt Bunnings will be the palce to source them. Personally i would try Hobsons or Coventry Fasteners and make sure they are high tensile, and i run allen head cap bolts as i find they made installation easier...but a normal bolt head will be cheaper and do the same thing
  12. Where is your local track. What other mods do you have and what tyres were you running? I only ask as i find peoples opinions on suspension vary greatly, so to me the real indicator of good suspension is the pace it can be hurried around a track. I drove a guys neat R32 GTSt at Eastern Creek a few years back. Had more power then my car, no speed limiter and about the same tyres. I have better brakes...and i was able to circulate almost two seconds quicker in my car then his....he jumped from mine wanting my suspension as whilst his was way firmner mine gripped a lot longer. So what feels tight and grippy may not really give good traction, even though it may be to the owners liking or what he feels handles good. LOL hanflign does not equal traction
  13. LOL...but you have the knowledge and resources to do it...even if you do struggle for the time. My thing is a 1300kg, 235/40/17 wearing, std RB20 engine and gearbox R32 GTSt with a lowly 260rwkws on a good day with average brakes, and some decent bits under it but as for all the super alignment/arm settings etc Doesnt the ZED have 315 rear tyres? I am looking at a set of 18 x 8.5 +30 and 18 x 9.5 + 36 offset rims for 235/40R18 fronts and 245/40R18 rears, thats about as big as i think i can get under my car. I may just stick with those sizes in 17s...meh. Be great to see someone with a nicley sorted GTSt, 9 years into the build the wind is out of my sails and will never quite get to the development that i had hoped to reach (ie, have the power i want, just not the cooling, brakes and suspension to reliably flog it for 20mins at the track)
  14. Just buy the magazine, sheesh. Its like $8
  15. Far too much effort going into getting cars to handle. Just up the boost and have more fun wrestling it I do wich i had a Z32, it would be so nice to just buy the crap you are developing on your car John. Nobody stuffs with R32 GTSt so stuick with the expense of learning the hard way myself SK, if only swaybars could give my car more hp, better gearbox, brakes and suspension alignment
  16. Any mention of R35 GTR owners having their own float at this years Mardi Gras ?
  17. With regards to signing Alonso for RBR in 2008, the 63-year-old Dietrich Mateschitz is quoted as saying "His situation was complicated because he was free for one year only," Whilst looking for a 2008 drive it seems Alonso had already wrapped up a seat for 2009. Everbody seems to thinks its Ferrari, but personally i can see it being BMW. For a period they were very vocal with their praise for Alonso, but the past 9 months have gone quiet. I think they have bagged him with Heidfled out of a seat in 2009. What is Nick the Bricks contract term?
  18. And here come the critics .... http://en.f1-live.com/f1/en/headlines/news...409105054.shtml I agree 1000% that Louises gesturing when he couldnt get past Fisi was uncalled for and a bit childish/bratish. Be interesting to see that if McLaren continue to struggle and lost their place at the top with Ferrari whether the Alonso fans will come out of the woodwork saying "We told you so" If Lewis can turn it around in the next few GPs and get solid podiums then it will at least show that mentally is tough enough to be around for a whole championship when expectation is high

    Gibson Gt-r

Skaifes cars used Alcon in the days of GTR
  20. Best bet is to fly up there and hire an MGF or something. Just get heaps of laps in. The 20min sessions on the day will help you get used to the track in your car. I want to enter, but it looks like all my money and time will be going on partying OS, which is good and bad. I would liked to have pitted my car up agaisnt such a cross section of cars...
  21. Its the length of their skirts that slow GTR drivers down. They trip over them and get tied up in the pedals.
  22. LOL, the night i was smashed and fell 3 storeys i signed into the Rowing Club as Heinz Harald Frentzen Kind of says a few things about the state i was in when i got there, so cant blame the grog they were serving me
  23. I shoudl learn to type. It is Brown Davis http://www.browndavis.com.au/contact.php
  24. Be warned though, you may not have too many problems getting the car registered as a 2 seater and all legal with the cage. But should you evcer want to remove the cage and get it registered as a 4 seater again then you need an engineering certificate. This means new seat belts etc etc... AND an inspection of the car. So those mods then come under the eye of the engineer and given the way they feel about mods that mess with emissions you could well be proper farked
  25. LOL, i would say its the best R34 i have ever seen in the flesh, possibly the most desirable of all the R34s i have seen in print as well. Easily the top 5. If you are selling it Aaron you should really consider the simple pleasure or ringing a rwd 2L's neck
