Who cares about fuel prices. If you dnt all get your younger brothers and sisters in line with their binge drinking they are going to up the taxes on my alcohol! I can handle high fuel prices if beer is cheap, thankfully i dont smoke. If fuel and beer get too expensive for me then i am going to have to raid my housemates gun cabinet and take my protests to the soon to be bloody streets !

Well, most NSW GTRs i had been in as a passenger at the track did it, especially at Eastern Creek. It happened when they were tryign to carry too much corner speed and the thing started to understeer and the fwd woudl start to kick in making the vibration and understeer even worse. Strangley have not noticed it in one single Vic GTR, so either its a track surface:car thing or its the fact that most Vic GTR get setup by the same workshop and has the alignment all set up. So i would suggest it has something to do with ride heights and the car willingness to pitch onto its outside tyre.

Which Aussie GP2 team? You mean A1GP ? They suck because the Australian team is paying a UK team to maintain the car and the team is hopeless funded and real driving talent has not been able to find their way into a drive.

I have never been to CRD in my life, but they have been involved with many big dollar cars and involved in drag racing and circuit racing. So they have some runs on the board. Irrespective, i find it laughable that people think it needs to be up to the Japanese shops to do the development on them. Australian engineers and tuners are amongst the best in the world. You only have to look at the ranks of Aussies in motorsport and the competitiveness of any Aussie race car that gets raced in a category abroad to know there is plenty of know how. The Electronics and drivetrain will be the biggest question mark and require the most smarts. But the global market and application of components is huge, so a great opportunity if there is enough kitty to get the development under way

Do you have a picture of the manifold and how the wastegate is connected to the collector. Have seen a few manifolds that have poor boost modulation because of the way the wastegate pipe is connected to the manifold.

What state are you in? All of my investigations have revealed that you need to register the car as a two seater if you have even a single fixed seat in the front. Thats the main reason i have gone for the half cage i have and the two race seats, it will be all legal as a 2 seater.

When Mercedes-Ilmor first got involved in Indy Cars a few years back they used a pushrod V8 as the rules at the time meant that a pushrod engine could run more boost and a few other little things from memory. They read that and went great. and built the most powerful engine until the rules were changed But alas, i was beign an idiot with my above post. If Holden bump up displacement they get persecuted, they are just keeping pace with the times Not a huge fan of the C63 though, its hard to pull me off an RS4 but if i could easily do it for an E63

What do you mean by more aggressive cams? Think about how an engine works and what it needs to work, then consider what large duration and lift cams do to an engine that doesnt have variable vaalve timing and onl 2L of low compression displacement I wish i had the money and time (expertise) to play with cams. I tried 260/8.8 cams and the results were not great. Witha bit of tuning i was able to get back most of the top end that i had lost, but was never going to get back the bottom to mid. At this point i pulled the pin. Thinking back, it was a bit optomistoic to think a little RB20 with a big compressor but smal exhaust housing was going to get a lot from cams with such an increase in duration. Going back to basics...i may have got more out of the setuyp if i had a bigger exhaust housing!?!?! Dont know for sure. Needless to say though i am with others when i dismiss what SR20s need to work. They have rocker arms, different comrpession and head designs, different inlet manifolds not to mention they are a 4 cylinder. Too many variables. For the time being i am just waiting until i can find out a bit more about water/methanol injection. Then i may consider soem 256 cams, a change to a 10cm exhaust housing then a re0tune with as much ignition as the engine can hanle. See if i can bag a usable 280rwkws at 22psi out of a std RB20 bottom end. At the moment i cant make any more power because of injectors and i dont thinkk the little 8cm housing is liking th eboost/exhaust flow

To me the character of the GTR is that they are a blank piece of vinyl. The nature of GTR is they give you a solid engineering basis for you to run off and customise so that it is "your unique performance car" so that n the end its the owner that gives the car character. And dont hang shit on TVR, i want a Cerbera or Sagaris before i get too old
