An R32 GTSt with a good exhaust, intercooler and air filter will basically make 12psi without a boost controller. Was that eh case? If not then you could have another problem

Meh to valve springs and all that. Just get a nice turbo rated at around 400hp, something like a TD06, 3071 etc and get it well tuned with adjustable cam gears. I run a TD06 on a std motor and on plenty of occassions have ran it to a 8,800rpm rev limit with 18psi or so jammed into it. Though i tend to try and run either high revs or high boost, not normally both.

Yeh the problem is though when you change engines you need to chamnge the engine number on your rego papers, which means an inspection at the local motor registry If you mod the RB20 then the numebrs match up, even if the thing has so many mods its equally as illegal. I guess you are not inviting trouble by havign to take your car to them. As for alink...if you hunt around the Vic roads website there is actualy some clear and useful information on it all

I like Crompton, i supported him as a driver and like him on air. He was never the most natural or talented driver, but he was a hard worker and good for the teams he drove for. I hope that Tony Cockraine gets hit by a car and has to step aside. I watch with interest with what Ford are going to do re-funding. The series is a 2 horse race, and if one of the manufacturers starts withdrawing support then what then for the Ford teams, and the category over all? Is it Rocky that has a new street race as well? Its all one way traffic at the moment and would love if the tracks told Tony to get stuffed and 5 or 6 of the track owners turned down a race for a few years as they didnt want to be held to ransom by the guy.

The fact that the car has no wastegate on it...you would think that the thing would struggle to make boost. Air is bloody lazy and will take the path of least resistance. So the fact that it makes 13psi with an open pipe...well i think that hints that the way the wastegate is tied into the collector is the issue. Cant really see enough from the pic that Paul has taken. Surely putting a bigger wastegate on it is a band aid to the bigger progblem?

Being an R34 GTT i would like to think the shocks would be in ok condition. My R32 was 9 years old with 90,000kms on it when i removed the std shocks and it turned out they were ok. I think you would be happy with some lowered springs from Kings, Whiteline etc and a wheel alignment along with whatever bushes you need to get optimal alignment when lowered. If you have some cash left over then some adjustable swaybars are great value. So for less then $1000 you should be able to get a nice handling car that is lower then std. You would get a better response if you posted in the Vic section. You can try a number of places, from Creatd, Bresciani, Racepace, Nizpro, High Torque, RE Customs, Chasers etc. What sort of power and boost are you chasing? A std RB20 can comfortably handle 250rwkws. If you want an engine built i personally would talk to either Racepace, Nizpro or RE Customs. From what i can see they have a large range and number of cars involved in club level motorsports. So what they learn on these cars carries over to all the engines they build

Probably not. They have had Will Power etc, but the drivers that get the more consistant drives have not been our most promising young drivers. And Docking know a hell of a lot on how to win, only i imagine the funds are not there for the Docking team to do what they need to do in order to move up the grid.

A few years ago before everyone subscribed to the whole cashless society i used to make a killing doing armed robs at the local servo. These days everybody pays for their petrol using plastic. If only peopled used cash more often then it would be worth the agro of getting all dressed up in black and jumping the counter for a right old bollocking. Who cares about fuel prices. If you dnt all get your younger brothers and sisters in line with their binge drinking they are going to up the taxes on my alcohol! I can handle high fuel prices if beer is cheap, thankfully i dont smoke. If fuel and beer get too expensive for me then i am going to have to raid my housemates gun cabinet and take my protests to the soon to be bloody streets !

Well, most NSW GTRs i had been in as a passenger at the track did it, especially at Eastern Creek. It happened when they were tryign to carry too much corner speed and the thing started to understeer and the fwd woudl start to kick in making the vibration and understeer even worse. Strangley have not noticed it in one single Vic GTR, so either its a track surface:car thing or its the fact that most Vic GTR get setup by the same workshop and has the alignment all set up. So i would suggest it has something to do with ride heights and the car willingness to pitch onto its outside tyre.

Which Aussie GP2 team? You mean A1GP ? They suck because the Australian team is paying a UK team to maintain the car and the team is hopeless funded and real driving talent has not been able to find their way into a drive.

I have never been to CRD in my life, but they have been involved with many big dollar cars and involved in drag racing and circuit racing. So they have some runs on the board. Irrespective, i find it laughable that people think it needs to be up to the Japanese shops to do the development on them. Australian engineers and tuners are amongst the best in the world. You only have to look at the ranks of Aussies in motorsport and the competitiveness of any Aussie race car that gets raced in a category abroad to know there is plenty of know how. The Electronics and drivetrain will be the biggest question mark and require the most smarts. But the global market and application of components is huge, so a great opportunity if there is enough kitty to get the development under way

Do you have a picture of the manifold and how the wastegate is connected to the collector. Have seen a few manifolds that have poor boost modulation because of the way the wastegate pipe is connected to the manifold.

What state are you in? All of my investigations have revealed that you need to register the car as a two seater if you have even a single fixed seat in the front. Thats the main reason i have gone for the half cage i have and the two race seats, it will be all legal as a 2 seater.
