  1. Cant agree on that front. Alonso was statistically a chance coming into the last few GPs. He had to race and win and get points, ie punch hard and get points in the last few GPs. He fell short. Now what Lewis did in China is unforgivable, he should have let Alonso and Kimi run off in the distance and race for a round win while he sewed up the championship. Gambling on tyre strategy in those conditions to try and get a win when the WDC was there to take is FARKING STUPID. A reall rookie error. He can drive the wheels off the car, but there is the problem. At that race, that point in the career he hadnt been kicked in the teeth and appreciative of how hard results are to come by, let alone a WDC. The mistake is excusable as he was a rookie and the team didnt oull rank on him over the radio. Point is if Alonso was in that situation he woudl haev won the WDC. The politics of the mid season had put him at too big of a deficit to the consistant Lewis. Alonso and Kimi had to win...they closed the gap. Kimi got the job done and Alonso fell just short. So if China wasnt bad enough, what did he go and do in Brazil? A rookie learning the ropes in that car is a crying shame. One of their drivers should have bagged the WDC. The fact that Lewis had it to lose...well. I think i have harped on enough And to me its not arrogance. Out of race interviews he seems nice enough, even if he isnt my preferred style/cut of a guy. The thing that annoys me is the fact that he plays the victim, and oh so skillfully played defenseless last year when he played perhaps more then an equal roll in the dramas that unfolded. Mongoose and Cobra stuff. Talking to a McLaren employee during Aus GP, well the team refused to paint a bad picture publically of either driver. It was the drivers throwing stones. For aguy that says he respects RD and is thankful of all the support he has been given, its funny how that goes out the window when he put his helmet on, ignoring instructions from the team on more then one occassion
  2. Rear gaurds? Damage, price?
  3. Oops. I never proof read posts. I really can spell and not THAT stupid. I meant to post +300rwkws But those revs sound about right
  4. How much for just the gaurds? Do they come with the brackets and inner guards?
  5. You cant go wrong going to the next WRX day at Sandown. I or anyone else can jump in teh car with you. Nothing beats seat time and persoanlly i wouldnt be changing anything more on the car until you get your head around driving how it is now. Get mroe seat time. Get familiar with what the car is doing then go back and do another driver training day to make sure you are not falling into bad habits. Personally what i see all the time is the first few times ppl go to the track they are using the wring gear. If you want to use 2nd then slot 3rd and you can use a lot more throttle and the car settles down a lot more makign it far more stable. Confidence increases, speed increases, fun increases and tyre and engine wear decreases from pinning 2nd gear to redline all the time with wheelspin
  6. Hang on. If you hiy something hard enough that it bent your exhaust and now you have a tickign noise from teh top end of the engine. Did you damage the sump? The thing getting ok oil pressure?
  7. Personally i think aftermarket wings are very hit and miss. If you want to upgrade a spoiler for your R34 then go shopping for an R34 GTR rear spiler, perhaps throw some higher pposts on it to get it up another inch or two. I suspect the wings that many run actually hurt their straight line speed because of the angle of attack and only unsettle the car in corners as they have rear end downforce but nothing for the front end. Stick with std spoilers for a sure thing. Nissan spend a bit of money on getting them to be a compromised solution for visibility and performance with hopefully livable amounts of drag. Same cant be said for a lot of the aftermarket abominations
  8. Well, for me we are coming up to the best time of the year. We have Monaco, Tour De France, Le Mans and Bledisloe Cup Cant wait to see if Robert "the worlds most beautiful man" Kubica can get up in Monaco. And whether Webber can get the thing in the top 5. I am reading that the track shoudl suit BMW and the more i read of Kubica i love the guy, He is a driver, not a show poney who lives for the F1 circus like an Irvine or JV
  9. I am not saying he doesnt cut it, and nowhere have i genuinely stated he isnt very talented. Of course RD saw something in him as a young driver. Whilst he has had his hand held most of his career in good machinery, he has still won which is a big thing. So i am not saying he doesnt cut it. I am saying that other drivers who have had to cut their teeth in uncompetitive cars would not have thrown away last years championship like he did. McLaren did a good job of potetecting him, saying the team let him down, but the fact is he farked up at critical times. He no doubt needs more of these sort of experiences to galvanise him as a driver. I sit back and at present he has not had much bad luck, most of his poor races have been his own doing. The guy is blessed and goes from strength to strength. Its amazing. I wonder what this years book is going to be titled? I read that last years tripe is filling he $1 discount bins. Perhaps its the fact that he loves 50cent and drives a RV with 22" chromies
  10. I want to like Lewis. I really do. Part of my hate for the guy is the release of a bio part way through his first F1 season Part is the fact that whilst talented he has probably had too easier a road to F1 and in F1. Its healthy for any driver to be fighting for dear life in the middle of the pack, chasing a single point like its a race vistory. That teaches you how to grit out a result. Not throw away a car. He raced well to get second, but compared to Ferrari and Renault McLaren the past few years have made odd calls. China last year made no sense. And the 3 stop strategy didnt make any sense to me either. His second stint was so short he shoudl have just thrown on the options and jumped Massa and held position on him. With both having a single stop to go the job would have been done for McLaren as Massa wouldnt be getting past. But the other reason i am not warming to Lewis is whilst he is talented, he is carrying on like he has already won a WDC and is always painting himself as a victim. Most interviews he talks of how things arent fair for him or are so tough
  11. Snowcone and Scotchfinger have the most understanding broads on the face of the planet.
  12. Anyone know what size drill bit i need to hiflow my injectors. They cant keep up with the boost that i am running Is there a cheaper option then nismo 555cc injectors ?
  13. Poite has a drive? AWESOME! I am feeling the loss already for missing this. Nobody wants a co-driver do they
  14. Yeh i sent the guy a message to contact me before paying for them as the Ohlins auction ended today and the guy has already ended his ebay auction. So if he doesnt win the shocks on yahoo then the Aus buyer could be getting stuffed around. Especially since they sold for way under what they went for on yahoo. Poor Aussie buyer is getting dooped.
  15. Based on that sort of thinking then an RB20 is better As long as components are rated for the torque then whats the problem. Diffs and gearboxes are easy fixes, so you have suspension picks ups and driveshafts etc. They are typical Datsun tuff in Skylines so not like Commodires etc that when they grab some mroe power then have been known to damage suspension arms/pick ups, Hondas with their troublesome driveshafts etc etc
  16. So its this weekend and it seems there is no excitement, entrants. So who is in?
  17. Luffy is not allowed anywhere near my car. My poor car has already been raped by him once
  18. Dunlop Volleys, best tennis show and driving shoe.
  19. Great strategy? McLaren are obtuse for fuelling Heiki with 31 laps of fuel with 32 laps to go and needing to change for the option tyres. Makes no sense, what they wanted to slow him down by getting him to carry more fuel? Ditto Hamilton, why they didnt put him on the soft tyres for his second stint, being so short, then run him long with his preferred tyres for a two stopper? Massa is suspect under pressure and they would have stood a better chance of winning by leaping Massa in teh pits, and if that failed just hussle the Brazilian until the eventual fold. Sure it was gutsy strategy, but bloody stupid. Its like Chinda last year when he stayed out on shot tyres waiting for the weather. Only this time it didnt backfire so badly. Highlight was Glock at the back havinbg a good old time with the Renault And ITV... Senna esque? Let me be the first in line Adam, there was nothing brilliant about the drive
  20. He is talking about an RB20 with TD06 . Cant beat it.
  21. When you get your car registered you bloody well should have matching numbers on your paperwork. Anyone driving around with a different engine number to that on their paperwork is playing a risky game in my eyes. Not sure what state you are in, but in Vic and NSW its part of a simple check that numbers match. And they only have to see the engine number being RB25**** etc to knwo what engine is in it A friend was caught out with an SR20 in his Pulsar as he was bit lazy getting his paperwork sorted. The fine was ridiculous. And that was for a simple engine exchange, not somone playing with the cc to weight regulations of engine conversions. Anyway, its something to consider, has insurance problems too LOL, so RB30s are cool for circle work. Show me the 300km/h vid and i will be convinced
  22. No way it works as well as the thermal wrap. I have tried all sorts of combos on my high mount setup and at present a time consuming shield works well as i was sick of wrapping mnaifolds all the time as that wrap crap doesnt last that long when its seeing high temps pn the track, ditto the ceramic coating. 12-18 months was all i could get from it
  23. Well someone should report the seller of the Ohlins to ebay for selling things he does not even own. Thos shocks are for sale on yahoo at the moment, exact pics and all and from what i can see its a small private trader in Japan, so not a guy trading on yahoo and ebay
  24. He should be very careful with where he puts his phone as there is some pretty incriminating vods on it. But then again if the girls where lining up why wouldnt you
  25. m3gtr, so you know about Lewis and his mobile phone portfolio of BJs
