White car first Friday night, Blue car 3rd i believe. All very tight and the weather mixing it up and making it very tough

One of the brands of exhaust wrap i used was crap. One lasted great, the other went like glass and fell off after one track day. It became very brittle. They were both from Revolution Race Gear, only one was a different brand and was wider. I later tried the brand that didnt go brittle on the whole manifold and it last great until i removed it when i removed the turbo after about 18 months of service. The reason i decided to try the wrap was the ceramic coating didnt reduce temps anywhere near what i was led to believe, the difference was marginal, but still better. Main reason i liked it was for its treatment of the metal itself and the small difference it would make to the differential temperaure the steel would see. Ie one side hot the other cold (engine bay air) I found the combintation of the two worked really well, only the wrap still gets changed when the setup comes off the engine every now and then for maintenance purposes. So liek i said these days its easier to just remove/re-install the shield i made

Re the whole moisture thing? How hot is the exhaust? I dont think mine was ever wet. Unless it rains and the bonnet is open. Car is moving, car is running = exhaust so hot no moisture is going to be drawn into the wrap

R31s used AP. R32s used AP on Ricos car and Alcon on Skaifes is what i reckon

Fark collecting points and going for one trophy Sunday night. Go for gold on every event and see how many event wins you can get. So silly to worry about the event over three days when you can bag 4-5 trophies on Friday and Saturday. Hit the pub Saturday night, have a blast then sit back with interest to see who wins the overall title.

What wheels suspension? Does it have gearbox, all electronids/wiring etc? Just needs an engine?

There is no denying that RB30 will give you results. But personally i love the character of a 2L with a large "tahbin" Just driving around off boost with the thing spooling up and never really boosting over 3-4psi, it sounds like an angry giant ready to awaken When you do get a hit you smile all day because of the way power comes on

What are firm entries (ie money paid) entries looking like? I will be looking to put my car/entry in after Sandown on June 1. Need to see if i have sorted my cars habit to wander all over the place in a straight line

You already have uber toys. But when the garage comes so will my track GTSt with RB20, simply because i cant get over the sweet sounding GTS-R Skylines of yesteryear I love the sound of RB in the morning!

Check out the RB29 WOW thread. Makes the power with the sort of delivery that makes the car a daily dirver.

Coilovers will only help as they are likely to give you a firmer ride, whic means less suspension travel. But it will still rub and a pretty poor bandaid to the problem. Stick with whtever tyre you have at the front, just put a lower profile tyre on the rear, or even a 235/45 or 235/40. But really, to roll the guards it costs about $50 a corner, its cheap and worth trying

The Trust 2.7L, HKS/Tomei 2.8L and OS Giken 3.0L all get their share of press. However i have only ever seen a demo carrunning the Apexi 2.9L. I cant read Japanese, but looking at the numbers under pics etc i think the pistons are 87.3mm and use a 22mm gudgeon pin. So what does that make the stroke, about 81mm. Now it uses the std block and some of the text refers to 121.5mm to 118.95mm which i assume refers to the rod length. There is a pic of pistons but i cant make any sense of the numbers. The demo engine is only using small 250/9.8 cams with an AX70P21 turbo running 1.6bar. The graph is impressive but still very small cc big turbo in shape

A couple of us R32 guys are playing with shocks and suspension at the moment byut cant afford to have our cars up in the air and off the road. So need to borrow some cheap and nasty shocks so that cars can be moved and not tripped over while our normal suspension is beign looked at. Anybody able to help?

Given teh low front spoiler he is running i wouldnt think you could tell the difference with just a new rear spiler. Remember that the no V-Spec R34s all had the std rear spoilers and the same front bar, but with no undertrays. Thing is your car looks tough now. Do you really want to throw a big spoiler on it ?

Ooh, i may have found soem cheap tyres I have said this every round this year but looks like i will have my suspension back so, meh. Why not. Need to improve on my PB before others eclipse it

Your car is so nice. Dont track it. Its too pretty. As for under car aero, again if factory doesnt fit then dont bother. I think there is far more fun is spendign that money on getting out there and having a ball, and improving your driving. With undertrays that inevitable excursion off the track could be a very expensive mistake

Yeh, too rich and too soon after the last one. If it had been around September again i would hve done it, a good 12 months is enough to get you hungry for beer, strippers and cracked rotors so that you pay whatever to do it all again

Arent 2860s what they use in twin form on RB26s Dont choke the thing up. I say go .86 as the thing will need to breath

Well, i am a bogan because the sound of a big cube 8 is bliss to me. Where the F430 at idle and and low speeds sounds like a 4AG Corolla with droney exhaust. With your boot in it the scream is good, but the sound will never compete with this.. And as much as i love the sound of an 8, the V10 or the Carrera GT and LFA is even better
