  1. Time will prove you all wrong re Romain. At the end of the 2013 season he will still have less kms in a F1 car than Heikki when he kicked off his F1 career in 2007. Heikki was crappola at Renault and his two seasons with McLaren even with all those testing miles. So factor where Romain is now given his F1 mileage and I reckon I am still backing a winner He is really the first of the no testing guys to get a good seat in F1 and learn the ropes. Magnussen is meant to be a quick young guy....so more power to McLaren if they give him a season re Honda to find his feet. It wont be hard to show flashes of talent and speed alongside "the car has no grip" Button
  2. The best news of the year so far is Perez looks like being booted. The only time he gets anywhere is when he hatchets other people or pulls risky strategy on tyres that pays off. So Perez, take your Tex Mex money and ...
  3. Still looking to sell this. If nobody buys it in the next few weeks will get an 82mm billet wheel put on it which will make it a nice 400-420rwkws turbo
  4. Can you do me a favour and read the manual and tell me whether this unit will communicate with a Pectel T2 ECU?
  5. Not sure thats true. I dont think Webber's performances have suffered due to Seb having a surrogate dad as team principal. The Alonso Massa thing has clearly messed with Massa's head space who alongside Schuey really grew into his own for a few seasons against TGF and Kimi. Alonso and the culture of the place does seem to have damaged Massa who other then the rare weekends like of late has been totally out classed by Alonso. Lewis, well its less Lewis and the same offending team principal that was around when Montoya and Alonso walked rather than play the game. Anyway...fark Mika. He robbed my boy DC of a WGP, ditto Vettel on Mark. My life woudl be very different I am sure of DC and MW were WDCs
  6. Coulthard, even with his retirement and rookie errors here and there was the pace setter. What Coulthard showed me was that the mental space of a F1 driver needs to be a pretty strong place. Coulthard wasnt and Old Ron having man love for Mika screwed with Coulthard in a very negative way.
  7. Years later I still dont get all the fuss over Mika. Never rated him...he needed the team to hand him wins and the team principal to completely mess with the head of his team mate ... then with the car under him was able to do the job. He is a Button at best
  8. NO! Neils bus is a damn good thing. Sorry to see if eat vegetation.
  9. Webber's clutch was slipping
  10. So sign Hulkenburg already so that Romain can habnd him the beating he deserves! Was kind of excited at the prospect of Williams bottiong Maldanado but guess this means he is likely to stay and Massa looking at retirement
  11. That car is AWESOME simply because it is runnign WEDS
  12. Mark has copped to the harsh reality regarding his ability to eek out life from the Pirelli tyres "...but that's the way it's been the last... since 2011. I'm not going to learn now, mate. Old dog, new tricks, it's over."
  13. Romains passed....only different is possible damage or associated with being short wheel base
  14. Yeh, considering he has never been strong here...and Seb was on it...Mark pulled out the Mark of old on that lap. I am sitting here really wishing that Kobi could come back and drive for Lotus next year. Or even Williams. 12 months on its a joke that Kobi got sacked and Perez got the nod for an upgrade to McLaren. Would love to see a nationalistic Honda at McLaren swap out Perez for Kobi. Also been the first GP in a while where Jev hasnt had tech problems but hasnt seemed to change anything. He just cant qualify to save his life. And if I say it often enough I hope it comes true. Brawn to WIlliams, Brawn to Williams, Brawn to Williams!
  15. Kimi just got reamed for floor failing an FIA test Another thing to stress the relationship
  16. How funny was it watching Vettel crack it with head movements showing he wasnt happy
  17. Power maybe. Torque ? Seems not! The PPG boxes if put together properly seem to hold together behind RB30s and big power...though never seem a helical gear set being abused...always the straight cut boxes behind the track car setups
  18. I dont think the team has been dumping on Kimi. They told Romain only two races ago to man up and pass Kimi if he wants the position. He couldnt and didnt so I think the bigger issue is Kimi and the team owners. Seems he has not been paid a cent all year....thats the issue. If someone owes you 15 million I think sh1t is going yo hit the fan. Poor old Boullier has built up a lean and capable operation and even then Gerard Lopez wont cough up the money promised. Hell he paid 1 dollar for the team and stands to sell it for considerable more with the new investment. Shame to see Kimi going, just hope its Hulk or Massa and not Maldanado who fronts up for 2014
  19. COME ON ROMAIN!!!! ...runs off to check sportsbet
  20. My advice...bugger Aus....go to the Malaysian GP! Cheaper and you get a good holiday and way better vantage point for the race
  21. LOL, I love these discussions. We very rarely see things the same way. I happen to agree Dan & STR were silly and that his move was never going to happen if he didnt run wide. Romains I think was a little more line ball in Hungary....but he bashed Button so deserved a haircut anyway. But Hulk in India? That is the clearest case of gaining an advantge by running off track I can think of...nowhere near passed...Bottas does the done thing and forces him wide as Hulk is on teh outside and rather than lift he just drives off the circuit and past! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u7E2hIFa670
  22. Oh, an dhow did Hulk not get a penalty for his off track excursion and pass?
  23. Its true. Of the GPs I have been to the only people with Williams merch are the stores otuside sellign old BMW-Williams gear etc. No current gear. But whilst I like the team it doesnt help they have a tool and a softly spoken rookie for drivers. Re funnding. PDVSA are going to have to hand over funding due to their exit prior to the end of their contract ... so thats some cash and reports have Massa and Bernie sweetening the deal to keep Brazilian money and interest in F1. So their budget wont be too shabby, but wont be great. They relaly need some Chinese oil money
  24. Pagid RS19s are nothing like DS2500s though. Endless CCRG are race pads! The Club Racer are much bitier then DS2500s from what I could feel in the car I have driven with them (WRX so pretty boig variable there). All the suggested pads are damn good pads but bite, temp range and price all very different to DS2500s. My guess again is if you like DS2500s then stay away from Hawk which generally have a lot more bitet then the more wooden DS2500s. QFM A1RM are a decent enough pad but like the RB74 and others I think you will find they wear just as fast, if not faster than DS2500s. If you like the feel and lack of too much bite of the DS2500s then consider something like a Pagid RS4-2 pads. They are a nice pad that are not too bitey (for those without ABS) and last a life time...good on rotor wear as well
  25. The more I think about it the more it makes sense to me....but who knows. What else is Brawn going to do? Williams would be a great home for him and with Maldanado gone gives them a few options with regards to getting a bankable driver in there. Not enthused about it being Massa, I think I would rather Di Resta or someone. A return of Hulk would be great but Hulk I think is past having to gamble with a team taking a step up in performance.
