  1. R32 GTR forged 16 x 8"? Less than half price!! Wish I needed 'em. Be a bit wrong to buy them then turn 'em around for $500.......
  2. No worries. I'm in Melb so I doubt I'll beat that!
  3. Wouldn't it depend on the overall tune? i.e. spark advance and fueling at high boost? I believe I'm running 24psi and never had any issues with detonation at any amb /engine temp. It's seriously over fuelled at high boost. Foot down = cloud o fuel out the back.
  4. AP CP5555 calipers 6 pot front 4 pot rear. 343 and 355 PBR rotors. They work well!
  5. Too right. Total bummer.
  6. Bump, for those who are not at church.
  7. Lucky you ! I paid a King's ransom to have mine 'opened up'. It wasn't by choice though. Poor old girl spun as bearing at Winton.
  8. All '911' Porkers are dry sumped and run oil coolers. Not sure about the whole boxer thing, other than I'm pretty sure it all goes back to the flat 4 in the original Beetle......That would have been a 'packaging' decision I reckon. Pretty funny to think all the cooking Posches owe their architecture to a crappy 'peoples car' from 50 years ago
  9. Really hard to say about the difference with the tubos as it was a couple of years ago when they went on. Stuffed if I can remember. When they went on the car went from 190RWKW to 260 RWKW so it all felt pretty damn good! I don't recall feeling any additional lag when they went on. Never driven anything else so can't comment on the 5s. I would like more top end in mine, but I might already have that, but with so much mid-range torque it might be masking what is actually a good top end perfomance. Just want that last mad rush for the limiter. Might also be the tune. Tuner has said it's tuned for torque as it makes the car quicker (in real world situations) in almost all but flat stick applications (which never happen as often as you think). I've heard journos challenging each other to keep the trottle pinned for more than 15 seconds in a Veyron as it is apparently almost impossible unless you've got a runway at your disposal. Same, but to less extent, might apply to the old GTR. Wide open for long periods = not very often. Oh yeah, oil temp about 100-110 on the track.
  10. Youhorn! Rofl. I did a Friday night last Friday. TG! What a bummer as it was fan-fanny-tastic. What a bunch of complaining bastards....Honestly, it's a race-friggin-track.
  11. Thanks mate. If you're tracking it, keeping engine temps down is vital or your mega $$ rebuild will come around again sooner than you want.
  12. OK, here we go. The 'small' Garrett turbos (7s) Power FC Tomei 700cc injectors Adjustable cam wheels Forged pistons Full bottom end re-build Oil cooler Large capacity aluminium radiator Approx. 305 RWKW and a shitload of torque.
  13. Not 100% sure.....Stock dumps, SS Y piece, then 3.5" SS system through a brand new hi-flow cat, then to the rear canon. Not sure if it has a hotdog in there, but I don't think so. It's not toooo noisy, but clearly if I had CHiPs on my tail I might be sweating it a bit.....
  14. Now with some pics
  15. Well, not too sure where to self publish these, so here they are. Venue was Sandown last Friday. Some cool (I reckon) shots of my car spittin' flames.
  16. I've got a full set of brakes from my GTR as I've just done the big brake upgrade. For sale is the following: Sumitomo calipers - std GTR spec Braided lines from the group buy - all by brand new RDA slotted rotors - all but brand new QFM K750 pads with a set of DS2500 pads - both sets, front and rear at least 90% All bolts, and associated bits 'n' pieces I'll throw in the original rotors which are all serviceable too. They were machined 2,000kms ago. All in PERFECT working order. These come off my immaculate GTR and you can be assured they will bolt on and work how you want them to. I will post at at your expense. Located in Dandenong Victoria if you want to pic up. Pics later...... $1,000 the lot.
  17. Thanks. I bought a mint set of R34 GTR rims with RE01 rubber, which on very close inspection had cracks all through them (I bought them in the dark!! My bad. Still, got them for less than $2k) as they was so old (I think they were the OEM tyres). Can you comment on how the rubber looks and feels. The above were 'hard' and I'd suggest well past it. Thanks.
  18. Re the tyres, when were they purchased? How long have they been on the rims? How long since they're been driven on? Thanks.
  19. Happens to me too so would be interested to know. So far it goes off by cycling the ignition. So far.
  20. Yeah, hope so too. Bout 500 kms including wait for it, a series of stops as per your initial suggestions. I ran out of time to do 1000kms so rang the brake joint and he seemed to contradict himself by suggesting the series of progressively harder stops with cooling periods. I asked why the turn around in opinion and got no reply. Anyway, like a drone I did what I was told.
  21. Well, I just did Sandown this evening and the brakes were awesome. Totally fade resistant, and really just took everything in their stride. I trod on them pretty hard and they just said 'so what' lap after lap. Awesome. Drove home and the pedal feels brand new.
