  1. p.s. Centreline is a rip off and sick of the SK sniping You mean they are expensive? Or something worse?
  2. Well it seems the $ and Yen has made anything from Tein SIGNIFICANTLY more expensive than they used to be. Apparently there is no old stock in the country, so new pricing even on the SS models are equal to or even more expensive than the Bilstein B6/8..... I had a long chat with Centreline today and in his opinion (price aside) I need more than the Super Street. From the Tein range he suggested Monoflex as a minimum. He also offers Bilstein stuff too. They'll more or less do the same deal as Quadrant, but interestingly may have an option for some PSS9s which will be modified from R34 GTR items to fit the R32......I'll put them on the spot tomorrow to see how deliverable this really is. They will end up $500 more expensive than the std B6/8 Bilstein option. Thanks for all the input so far.
  3. Well I went down and had a long chat with Jim at Quadrant today. Seemed like a good guy. Essentially they are offering a drop off and pick up service with Bilstein Monotube B6/8. They are a gas/oil unit and come with H&R springs, fully height adjustable. Small and large springs per corner, custom valving and they thrown in 2-3 re-visits if things aren't up to your expectations and they need adjusting. They align everything once done and set the car up (adjust swaybars etc). Seemed a pretty convincing offering. I know this flies in the face of the Tein advice on this thread, but surely there are other credible options other than Tein? The Tein route means hanging out on Yahoo Japan looking for some second hand units which seem hard to come by (I've been slow off the mark on a couple of occasions due to being crap) . You're then got to get them here (waiting waiting), re-spring & valve them, take the risk on their condition, get them fitted by someone who made no money on the parts (i.e. extra labour charges). Then you have to set the car up. Not to mention if something goes wrong you have little if any comeback. Lot of frigging around too..... I know I'm making a case to go this way (for once I will not be taking my car to the other end of Melbourne), but I was impressed with what was on offer in terms of the quality of advice, the product and the service. I'm not going to mention price for modesty's sake, but from my limited experience it seems in spec with what you get for what $$. Any final thoughts before I put this to bed and hand over my hard earned for the non-recommended Bilsteins.....? Cheers.
  4. I've run RE55s and D01Js on the street and never had any issues in the wet. In fact, I reckon they have great low speed grip in the wet. Always amazed at how much speed I could carry into a wet corner with them.....That's my experience.

Oh no! Now Luckiee is gone I was going to cruise Awesome's threads for some mirth. You've spoiled our fun!
  6. Sorry if this has already been posted, but I'm thinking more of mechanical preservation. Oil change, over-fill by 1litre, ideally oil cooler, lots of pads, good quality pads, fluid change, under car inspection to make sure everything is right. Might be overkill, but I've blown an engine, found my brakes to be useless and ruined many a track day not to mention blown a king's ransom.......Pay now, or pay more later......Consider oil temps too. Do hot laps and cool laps. I'd short shift too if it's an all day thing...I ran semis on my first track day and would recommend. I've never run street tyres on a track but my guess is they would become very frustrating to drive on and you'll start scrubbing them to buggery. Hope that's of some use. Maybe talk to your mechanic as he'll know what's up with your car. Or maybe you know what you're doing yourself and don't ring the mechanic when you need to do anything (like me)

    Ka-boom!
  8. Luckiee, you're ace! When ever I see your posts I know we're on for some entertainment. You're a ripper! You're the best thing that's happened to SAU. Congratulations.
  9. Shit, the joke's on me! Um, this guy Luckiee apparently has a stable of cars, both automatic and manual, turbo and natuarally aspirated. I wasn't trying to be helpful, so much as point out the original poster might be full of it. Egg on my face though....... . Serves me right for being a smart ass.
  10. I reckon you have an auto, and you're wasting everyone's time.
  11. and sold. Thank you Peter.
  12. Sold!! pending payment and pick up on Monday.
  13. All PMs replied. My crystals tell me these will be sold soon.
  14. Mate, I'll get some firm quotes and get back to you. Hopefully Friday as I'm trvalling right now. Cheers.
  15. Someone ban the twat. Luckieee has priors.
  16. These are still for sale.
  17. I know what you mean but I've always found with travel I'm really keen to see my photos. It's kind of an end day ritual with a beer. Remember I'm with family so plenty of hanging around time. I'm not racing off to eat out or go to a bar, chasing girls etc (the old days). You've got airport and transfer time too. I like to see the shots as I go as previously mentioned. Also, when I'm back, I'll be eye deep with work so won't get to touch them in a month of Sundays. I guess if I were travelling light and in and out of hostels and living the fast life I'd go with your plan....I'm mostly staying with relatives in England and in Paris for a week in an apartment with WiFi, so this all helps too. The camera does sometimes get in the way though. You gotta watch out you don't spend all your time capturing the moment and not being part of it..... Cheers.
  18. Could be anywhere from none to 200 per day depending on activities. It's not just storage that is the issue. I don't want to get home after a month and spend an eternity de-duping and culling shots. I want to do it as I go. I also want instant feedback on the shots I've taken. No point in getting home and finding out all your shots are crap, especially if you experiment a little to try and learn as you go (as I intend to do). So, it must be / have the following: A screen Software that allows you to download directly to the device Some sort of file management system so I can organise the shots USB ports Memory capacity (though I do have a 80gb external HD) Small and light I'll check out the Epson P-3000 / P-6000 / P-7000 series as recommended as it seems to be the only device other than the Acer Netbook that's going to give me what I need. It also has the benefit of internet connectivity, and, well, all the benefits of a PC. Thanks for the feedback. Any other suggestions? Cheers.
  19. I'm traveling to Europe for a month and will be taking the trusty 350D to take a record. I want to download, store, view and cull images on a daily basis. I also want to be able to show my fine work to friends and relatives, on screen. I'm traveling with my wife and daughter so we'll be traveling with the kitchen sink, so this device needs to be light and compact. I'm looking for suggestions. So far I've got an Acer Aspire 1 Netbook, a DVICO TVIX 2230 Portable Media Player (they actually called it that) on the list of possibles. An iPhone would be awesome but I understand you can't download straight from the DSLR to the device........so no good for this application. What do you guys use? What can you recommend? Cheers, Nick.
  20. Price rise. Not feeling generous anymore. Back up to $1,600.
