R32 Gtr Turbos - Ive Searched!
(OO)SKYLINE(OO) replied to den001's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Yeah thats about right Full boost comes on at about 4000 - 4500 RPM. But are you going up or down hill or flat serface... Hot or Cold day... Turbos may or maynot be hi flowed but I can garentee you that the internals of the turbo are built of steel instead of ceramic as I have rebuilt my pair 2 years ago. Stonger internals, hence take more boost. -
Finally Got Around To Doing My Brake And Suspension Upgrade!
(OO)SKYLINE(OO) replied to RBJ3T's topic in Victoria
Yeah atm my calipers are just the standard black but all faded. I could be lazy and just take the wheels off, scrub down the caliper with cleaner and spray paint the caliper on the side and front but for the long run, do what you have done and the caliper paint will last a lot longer and look better. LOL! Cool! -
1st up, your on a dyno. Make sure your on the same dyno as you do your testing as every dyno is different. From my understanding, the 1st test you did was abit bias as you had removed the some of the air intake elements also you would have had a large fan blasting air right in front of your car to feed the intakes and keep your intercooler chilled. Then you put everything back on at the road test you felt the power difference... Its ok man, I don't think rb26s13 is jealous, BTW he as 2 x RB26DETT so there is no reason for him to be.

Removing Centre Caps
(OO)SKYLINE(OO) replied to Johnny's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
Just use a Flat Head Screwdriver. There should be a little gap to allow you to fit the screwdriver in and hinge it out. -

Clutch And Flywheel ?
(OO)SKYLINE(OO) replied to 1gtsky's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
You can buy the whole "Clutch Kit" which should come with a flywheel. For example I had a HKS twin plate and I replaced it with the standard Nissan R32 GTR clutch, no way it will fit the HKS flywheel and had to order a Nissan R32 GTR flywheel. All got different fittings, designs but if your new clutch does fit the flywheel, you most probley have to Machine the flywheel, if not replace. Your mechanic should be able to check your whole gearbox system out and be able to tell you what needs replacing, what - not. -
That looks like Shepos GTR... Anyway the 1st set of pods I think are M's but I believe the look very similar to Blitz pods APexi look the nices IMO. I have twin HKS pods atm. Does a great job, makes a nice chrisp sucking and 'Choo' noise. Also it get plenty of air as I have a snorkle feed air. Thats whats in mine when I took you out for a drive at the dyno day LOL! WTF! Seriously DO NOT DO IT AGAIN! Buddy why do you think you have the grill part where your GTR badge is... To alow air flow. Nissan designed the car as it is, you should not need to pop the bonnet while driving. Also you have a NACA Duct on your bonnet to feed air into the engine above the turbo piping.

Nah mate, its was Asahi. vspec_gtr32 your car has a RB26DETT, you need the Electronic Fuel Injection system to run the car. LOL! Cool!

R32 Gtr Turbos - Ive Searched!
(OO)SKYLINE(OO) replied to den001's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
If you look at your stock boost gauge it will read = 0.7 Bar = 10.7 Psi But on a nice chilly cold night at about 6-7 degrees C. Due to the cold temps, your air intake and intercooler gets a blasting of freezing air. The car can easily boost up to 0.8 Bar = 11.6 Psi. Thats about MAX on full throttle with good engine oil. -
Hey yeah that be great! Thanks man!

Hey Rush! Bro that is friggin awesome! Thanks A lot! BTW Iam still trying to figure out how you do it in Photoshop, LOL!

Question Regarding Tuning/modding
(OO)SKYLINE(OO) replied to Atomnaya's topic in General Automotive Discussion
Do it in stages as Johnny has said but remember one thing leads to another. Get a full exhaust system and the air pod at the same time and that will help the car breath better. As for the intercooler all for the better with a large front mount. BTW don't worry about aftermarket blow off valves if that was your next question. -
Hey AGE and RusH! Think you can make my cars into Mini Cars?
-
LOL! Yeah just take another month off then say to yourself "Hmm... I think I should be somewhere, but not sure where..?" HAHAHA!!! Yeah I use to goto Swinburn TAFE in Parhan.

R34 Gtr Traction Problem
(OO)SKYLINE(OO) replied to Jsikalias's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
Get your mechanic to hoist the car up and trace where the leak is and seal it. I found that GTR gearboxes are very 'touchy'. I did a gearbox oil change too and I occationaly get a tiny drip on the ground. I have done everything to stop it from leaking, like sealing the plugs and re-doing the seals with this special type of silicon which is weather, heat and vacuum prof and still get a leak. I figure to completely stop it, I might have to recondition the seals OR the easier option is, every service I do is just to clean up the gearbox and top up the oil. -
R34 Gtr Traction Problem
(OO)SKYLINE(OO) replied to Jsikalias's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
Yeah red colour would be transmission fluid. In the boot? How are you getting oil leaking in the boot? -
Well yeah, you got ABS, HICAS, 4WD, Battery, Exhaust Temp, Hand Brake and Doors. BTW Exhaust Temp I would not worry about. I was never too sure why they had that. To check how hot the exhaust is maybe..? Yes they do heat up... But if you get an aftermarket exhaust on there then it won't matter LOL! All the lights that come on in the dash, they are the things to look out for. As long as you get your car serviced at 5000km everytime, you sould not have any problems. BTW just check your other fluids from time to time. ie. Engine oil, brake, clutch and radiator fluids (Green liquid in the resivour). Yeah I have that Owner manual, something like 800+ pages on cd.

R34 Gtr Traction Problem
(OO)SKYLINE(OO) replied to Jsikalias's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
LOL! NEXEN Tyres, I had them on the front before too. Sorry to say but they are like Bridgestone povo pack tyres. LOL! But good enough to get you from A to B as a daily. As to you Jsikalias, what oil is leaking and what colour is it? Gear box oil or do you think your ATTESA-ETS system is leaking? As for the oil in the ATTESA-ETS system I think its diff oil or there might be a special type of oil for it. (Clarification needed) I found it quite easy to break traction in 1st and 2nd gear when I drove a V-Spec R34 GTR, which were on shitty cheap tyres. R34 GTR's have quite a bit of torque. I would consider it normal and I don't think a tiny leak will cause you to lose traction that easy, unless oil is flicking to the tyres causing you to slip... LOL! BTW I think I have seen your GTR before, you from Caufield, Malvern and Chadstone area by any chance?
