  1. on the OCAU forums there was a discussion about the '89 GTR's and whether or not they're a bargain. One of the best points made is that a lot of the importers are snapping up GTR's left, right and centre to meet demand rather than fishing out for the cream of the crop which they usually do. To me this makes sense as a lot of the cars I've seen are in real shite condition.
  2. i agree. I remember a few years ago, the heir of a multi-million dollar company (Faber-Castell) got done for 100 something plus in a 60 zone. He was on his P's at the time and it was in an M5 or some other 5 series BMW. He got off with something really minor (like a measily fine or 1 month restricted license) by saying that the car is capable and safe at those speeds...
  3. I agree as well. My mate recently changed over to some HID's (or whatever they're called) - the light's a whiter with a bluish tinge. much easier to see your headlights now, and there are no gaps in the light range.
  4. huh? what was series 7? have i not been paying attention again?
  5. it depends on what you wear and how long the drive is. i've noticed that 100% cotton is fine (very little chance of shock). the worst seems to be a polyester / nylon blend (aka trousers) which for me personally causes large shocks (when I forget to discharge myself).
  6. try this: when you get out of the car make sure you're touching something metal with your hand (don't let go), get out and make sure your two feet are firmly on the ground. close the door and you should be statically discharged.
  7. any update on this?
  8. why don't we use Trial Mountain? IMO it's the best combination of speed and corners. And we should only be able to use Nissan street cars (ie. no Penzoil GTR).
  9. that's probably my mate. he often goes down to wakefield for track days...

    shit

according to the RTA website it's $127 and 2 points. http://www.rta.nsw.gov.au/rulesregulations...s/speeding.html
  11. yeah this has been questioned many a time before. Optimax has reduced in quality the RON rating is variable servo to servo. The most consistant seems to be BP Ultimate and Mobil Syngery 8000 which are both 98RON.
  12. the MAF sensor could be dirty??? or could be the fuel pump problem but i highly doubt that.
  13. with a face like size has no bearing.
  14. too bad you gotta pay for it i'm sure there's a free site somewhere. why don't you PM Prank as i'm sure he used that font to write up the application and regulations etc...
  15. same. I thought he was trying to out do the Top Secret boss (like the UK incident.)
  16. I saw two fine looking women in a yellow Lambo Countach cruising down George St. Everyone just stopped and stared. Now I'm not sure if it was for the car or the fact that a chick was driving...
  17. MRO26C (mr oh too sexy) on a lame ass civic from the ice ages THGLFE (thug life) on a crx from about the same era BKDFKP (back da fk up) on a riced up DC5 want me to keep going? F355 (F355 is a Ferrari for those that don't know) on a ute then there's the whole MYDVS or MY12NV range which really piss me off. I seriously think that devious and envious are the biggest words they know. DVS / NVS etc... = loser there is a guy here with a lame plate but i'm not gonna say anything more other than it starts with 2.
  18. i agree with Chris Rogers. brant have one of the top alarm systems (the nemesis i believe). 6 point immobiliser, black wiring, key pad pin protection etc... recommended by majority of the insurance companies. as for quicktrak i thought that it's a satellite tracking system - insurance companies have this as a step up from the alarm system. i'd get both. get a prolock. make sure you put it on the same way as on the instructions (key hole facing windscreen not the seat) - it makes it that much harder to remove. plus the visual deterrent factor is handy.
  19. crap it's threads like this which are scaring me about getting a GTR. looks like I'll have to keep my current car and leave the GTR for weekend / track day driving...
  20. I know it may seem like a "stupid" question but what's the oil level like? could be no smoke because there's no oil, which would explain the overheating bit aswell, not to mention the horrid sound..
  21. :bahaha: you just watched Fast and the FuriNOS ha?
  22. what about a clip of it say just below boost (constant not reving) - as in a 5 sec clip of it at 2,500rpm
  23. it's 2.82MB for those that are interested edit: dude that sounds really sick. could you possibly get a vid of it just idling? it might help a bit more. to me it sounds like a piston problem.
  24. You can drive with your eyes closed. Seriously. sweet
