EZ reg on the iphone says its a green holden and valid rego ?
-
its real dead in SA...lol oh you meant the forums..lol .......except the stolen cars , we need a new sticky section just for those ? come on , we still get 400 animated gifs a day from damo..lol always nice on a iphone on slowdownloads by the way. not sure why failbook is the go over the forum, or is it just the SAUSA club is happening that much ? you shouldnt have to join failbook Coopers for dinner, yum but didnt a skyline get stolen from in front of there ? the other cities sau clubs do so much more is that because adelaide blows or the lack of race tracks , police harrasment ? we could use a garage cafe, that would be wicked people dont even pos t" local "car show events on sau anymore, if they do its the last day when they do ? IMO

well it sounds like you have a few issues, not just the alarm, Im not a fan of that brand but anyway. I'd look at the other things too, battery grounds, clean the terminals ? they can make alarms go crazy, and if your backup battery is near 2-3 years old or been deep cycled(battery in car ran dead) a few times it can cause issues.
-
radio issues and no dash lights ? that isnt the alarm unless some monkey pulled power off the radio battery has no amps, just shows 12v or close to it ? bad ground, corrosion, and fuselink , fuse underdash or bonnet ? get the battery load tested ??? bad keyswitch ? if you have a heavy keychain it kills the switches a wiggle on the key while turning it starts it ? that would expalin the other issues as well, power to radio, dash lights etc can come from key area pretty sure from your description its not the alarm

freight from the US cost a bunch and now the dollar is shite again. the cost to ship will match the cost of the item.I get stuff all the time..lol 250 all up for box and sub ? or amped sub? your going to have to haggle a bunch Id say. or make your own ? this one ? http://www.soundstream.com/AudioProducts/Subwoofers/USB-8A.html beware of SOUNDSTORM, its rubbish, and looks like soundstream both in name and look I would recommend a Bazooka Tube, powered model over the soundstream, plus it will fit better under the rear deck. little more space but sounds way better. second choice if you can find one, Pyle powered tube ? or Rockford Fosgate powered box if you have room. Chris Rogers sells Rockford off here ? if you buy a box aim the sub towards the back of the car, lots better bass, unless you have a 4dr with ski tunnel for sound ?
-
polyfill can give you around 20% more volume if done right a longer expansion/compression port , or a double port - one inside the box, the other outside. (bandpass box)

your amps are mono, you can run both to a DVC sub but you can get crosstalk bleed , and without someone setting up the amp gains exactly you might be fighting agaist the other ? those amps dont have sync cables to strap them together . you box will make or break the install and sound . a generic box on a T3 will sound worse then the Eclipse subs. cone displacement can make a difference, but so does the box, the Xmax of the voice coils on the sub, . so I guess it comes down to you budget for a box and how much room you want to loose ? on what model car? the T3 would rock but they need the right enclosure and boat loads of power . you can get a pair of 6" in a tiny 7th order (dual reflex)bandpass box to get lower then a 12" sub in a generic box so the box is a huge factor if you got 2 - 10"DVC subs, with 4ohm coils , wire in parralel on each sub to 2 ohm load, your amp could put out a max of 800watts. so 1600watts from 2 amps at 2ohms. best option http://www.rockfordfosgate.com/products/product_details.asp?item_id=120420&locale=en_US&p_status= and for basic box plans use the box wizard for rockford PUNCH T3. http://www.rockfordfosgate.com/products/product_details.asp?item_id=120420&locale=en_US&p_status= if you wanted something better box wise you should use a single reflex ported box, with no bass boost on the amps. take slightly more room but hits hard as hell. with the combo you have , over 130db would be fairly easy . and punch hard and fast on drum kicks, plus protects the sub from getting loose and frying . your power question, everytime you double your power you "could" get up to 3db louder, but its not always the case, to go from 130db to 140db takes thousands of watts extra in most cases with the same driver/box/car 2 subs could double the SPL by 3db but once again not always. going from a sealed box to a spec designed single relex box will with the same exact power and driver, make the spl go up by 6-24db unless you cant get the sound into the cabin, . its a huge difference . double reflex even louder but can eat drivers if not ported and xover wrong. bass waves can be calculated by a formula to tell you how loud and what freq. you will make it at in the front of the car. which is why you can hear a boom car coming for miles, the bass waves expand the further away you get, treble falls off fast. . my brothers old honda CRX install had a old first generation punch 10 DVC with 400watts max on it, in a single reflex Tube. and it set off a building alarm from car park , the SPL shaking the glass that much the sensors set off the alarm ...!!!! but that car hatch shape enhanced the SPL it could hit 132db on the Old Audiocontrol RTA

"ACTIVE" means they have amps built into the box. new reflex tech, thats been around for at least 30 years. most active subs are average. a pickup truck sub box active could fit under the rear deck on some a thin sub would be fine with a small amp to match. they do make subs that fit the spare tyre rim ? or you can make one out of fiberglass, I have a mold for the R34 spare tyre, not the well, but the tyre rim itself. you have room to hide amps in the boot . and subs can fit in the side panels on all cars. 12" fit on R34 gtt. and wont use any space at all.!!! its a wasted space behind the panels. so a thin sub, small box on one side, small amp on the other would be the go ? or if you want to feel bass but not use any space, a bass shaker bolted to your seats works , give the illusion of bass but not the spl. a creative pro installer can hide your system and use minimal space , but isnt dirt cheap and a not 1 day job

Multi-Gauge Display ; What Are The Option?
Carbon 34 replied to cobrAA's topic in Car Audio & Electrical
you dont use a cable, its bluetooth/wireless, sorry the links failed, SAU site error you plug the sender in and you search with your phone app to connect. no idea which ECU it works on. anything ODB2 compliant should be fine. -
problem 1, these cars are too cheap now, everybody can afford one, strangely they cant afford insurance ? insure it before you drive it off the lot!!!!!! make it mandatory to have full comp on these cars !!! problem 2, Australia is shocking when it comes to car thefts, when I lived in LA it wasnt this bad. LA had 17million people !!! and when it got stolen it wasn't torched , farking savages problem 3, the laws dont punish real criminals harsh enough, and they dont seem to look into past either ,,,,ie 3 strikes and your off to prison to become someones bitch problem 4, common sense, dont leave your prized possesion on the street in the hood. dont flaunt it to people. if you area has the words, port, parks, heights, gardens, hills, east , west, attached to the name in adelaide its most likely a place you dont want to leave your car. problem 5. ADR Alarm, steering lock as a min , multiple layers of security always used!!!! problem 6. a serious lack of respect in this country for others belongings.dont even get me started on graffitti or hit and runs. problem 7 Police need to stop defecting imports for the sake of raising money and start policing real crimes against people and property first. and if you defect cars dont forget to check out the average cars, walk thru any mall and see how many oil leaking, bald tyre, rust bucket bombs you find on a centrelink payday. !!! since when did kids use a backpack at night , unless they're camping ???? car theft, graffitti come to mind when you work your ass off to pay for and fix up a car, the last thing you want is some punk/meth head/gang member helping themselve to it , damn school holidays every damn time !!!!, dont kids have more constructive things to do anymore then steal and destroy shite ??? sucks to hear another one stolen, because it drives up my costs for rego, etc. grrrrr savages I swear

those are nice sounding, I heard them at CES in vegas and my friends shop in denver with boulder amps running them . but overpriced , price doesnt always equal qualiity.... it equals company profit and bragging rights they would match this cheap car amp from a while back, retail on introduction was 300,000 bucks for a car amp ???Phoenix Gold made some crazy amps back in the day we used to sell them , run a whole car on a 20watt per channel amp(rated power) but actually puts out over a thousand watts total , load them down to 1/4 ohm damn near a dead short !!!! http://webfaq.phoenixphorum.com/MPH6300.htm now a meager 99,0000 PPI ART series ,Orion HCCA, Rockford "POWER", US AMP, Zapco had some too. most of those are still top of the line even 20 years old and sell for a mint on ebay

Multi-Gauge Display ; What Are The Option?
Carbon 34 replied to cobrAA's topic in Car Audio & Electrical
a few options option iphone or ipod touch http://www.devtoaste...m/products/rev/ for android another option option 3 HUD display, for android phones(headsup display) gheybackground music so be warned..lol heads up display I havent tried this on a skyline, but anything your computers sees from the port, the apps "should " display , some info like fuel economy, HP, etc are created by the car data and the phones, GPS/Accelerometer and some can reset warnings on the ecu ? depending on the car of course pretty sure if a you got caught touching that screen to scroll thru gauges while moving you would get a ticket, since it is a phone plus you would run up somones butt by not looking at the road. and you need the hardware , and the software, not just the app !!!! -
thats a american thing, Wahoos fish tacos shack rocks, it sounds fowl but its nice if you like fish and mexican food. , soggy would be horrible http://www.wahoos.com/ lloks like they have a franchise in australia now too ?

black R32 with a dark hair woman driver on south rd heading towards seaford a plethora of poor drivers today !!!!
-
black ceffy on south rd 3 white R33 within a few min all 7 digit rego , one was a short dark haired chick at woolies by the EMU hotel, the dark haired chick pulled redline out of shops ?pointless and caused everyone to look inside the shop ? white 34 gtt with bomex/top secret kit no wing , blond driver on south rd, maybe caroline off here.? who was driver the Blue R34 GTR with the black blade on the rear wing , on weekend. esply in dinga ? Martin was that you????
-
Mobil 1 is good stuff, I use Redline in everything. that 0 weight is a bit too light for the hot weather coming up IMO, thats what the lower number means, the flow rate during cold weather. I used Mobil 1 in my RX7 and the car made it nearly 400,000 MILES , of hardcore racing road racing and daily driving on a bridgeport 12A before it broke a rotor gear siezed , it still ran on one rotor for months as a daily..haha 1 rotor on a alloy flywheel is shocking amount of torque to move a car by the way. ..lol and used it on my old R31 thats still ticking over 500,000km on it never had more then a valve cover off , purrrrs still

I think this thread should be closed its off track , this place needs a chat room,, haha

yeah Im sure that sounds pretty good, but wasn't cheap , but using factory rear with high end fronts on a amp is like having 500hp and drum brakes on 4 wheels. you can do it but you shouldn't ..lol the factory rear option is only for some systems . and dont be fooled not all SQ cars run just front stage, most real live music has reverberation and reflections with delays(unless its outdoors on the grass) if you listen to it live.!!!! it gives it texture . Im not talking a pair of deck mounted 6x9's being fed from a 300 watt 50 dollar amp . but actual quality speakers setup with RTA and decent amp. turned to perfection , not driven to excess. its like closing your eyes and thinking your not in a small car but in a concert stage ?? why do you think car radio companies strive to put Dolby/THX or similar surround in a car. ? not just for DVD's for kids in back seats

white r33, sounded raspy and rough on the esply in dinga . white r31 and red r31 lowered and loud past few days same spot.

Blaupunkt New York 800 Or Clarion Vx401a
Carbon 34 replied to iseekool's topic in Car Audio & Electrical
Diversity plugs for antenna, can be found at just about any car audio shop, think jaycar has them too or use Simon or Chris from here ? Blaupunkt adapters ? you mean wiring harness to link the radio to the car ? buy one from above , or use a pro installer to do it right the fist time, R34 airbags pop out in your head/face and computers fry if you go probing the wrong wires -
all speakers sound better with more power then the deck can provide, as long as the power is clean, not a 20 dollar amp sound most decks can only push 20 watts per channel REAL WORLD power even if they say 50 watts, that can be a very distorted power level. and you can use the xover on the amp (most cases these days ) to protect the mids/tweets from low bass if your using a sub ? Morels can be touchy if you dont baffle the mids right or mount tight and flat. its easy to over extend the coils and fry them if you dont even with 50 watts they can flap like a bird . they like some resistance behind them otherwise its like running them in free air without a box ? its because the suspension is designed way different then most brands to move fast and clear. without a bafffel you wont like the sound. a bafffe can be as simple as a peice of thin grill cloth stretched on the hole behind them. and some pillow stuffing , not touching the speaker or it will buzz. 10 bucks to do it nothing serious but use care to do it !! Alpine Tupe X Lanzar Opti 6 DLS and a few others are the same as morels and like some baffle . I know I have some..lol but they run a 3" Voice coil and handle 600watts each , like a sub does. most 6 inch mids run a 1 or 1.5 inch coil and handle 80-200 watts any mid can sound smoother/punchier with a baffle but the above need it without a doubt

true the dash will need some customization but , the factory dash wasn't designed the best . Ipads are easy to install , its the R34 dash lip that you have to clear with motorization, pop out . I know someone who sells all the prefab parts to setup a ipad or ipad2 in your dash, the little socket, power, cords, and fiberglass pan molded to slide in and out, making the job way easier and not have to re invent the wheel to do it. Ipads arent huge and will fit , then you can hide all your power FC controllers behind the panel..haha todays news , Ipads took about 75% of all new computer/pads/laptop sales this year so I dont think it will go away like the DVD, CD, MD TAPES, CASSETTE TAPES , BETAMAX, 8 TRACK, REEL TO REEL, RECORD PLAYERS IN THE CAR, 45's , 78's and Flash player should work without trickery soon. lol shame Microsoft and Apple dont merge brains to create a better product, since its the same company more or less . or Linux could just blow them out of the water completely ....way more stable

SMS sent Julz boot and wings sold to me , pending payment thanks mate

I'd give any of these a listen, in the lowish to mid range price around 250-400 bucks , some as low as 100 bucks a pair, not flash looking or fancy but sound fine. there are other brands but they have to be imported to OZ. Morel got the best splits award for under 300 bucks vifa bostons dynaudio. kenwood some models pioneer some models DLS Seas Infinity some models MB Quarts Audax kicker soundstream rockford fosgate PPI orion clarion JL audio Polk Blaupunkt
