  1. Thanks again! I have to admit, $5k, or even allow for $6-7 with some cams and head work etc, thats pretty cheap. When you also consider what a good bottom end rebuild would be capable of with the same bolt ons. But inregards to the manifold maintaning the heat, you mean in the metal, or just heat in general? As I've been told a number of times the more heat there pretty much the better, as hotter air is thinner, and therefore moves faster, and as its on the exaust side the heat isnt a major issuse (asuming cooling for everything else is up to scratch) And with *****foot driving, I got 9.9L for every 100kms off the last tank And thats with a cefiro not an r32
  2. Haha! Then you can do it like a clubman ute! hahahah! Rad! Dooo it doo it etc etc.
  3. Thanks Roy, very helpful as always. Also if you have any more detailed pics of your turbo manifold that would also be nice. And what did you end up doing about the turbo and shielding the heat? Did you end up getting a teacossie for it? Final question too, if you can give us a rough idea of fuel economy, both on and off the track (yeah yeah, that ones pushing it ) Sorry for all the questions, Im just trying to work out what to do with mine, and it will influence me now in terms of maintaing the engine I have now. (ie keep it, and spend more keeping it nice, or getting rid of in the future and not wasting so much money keeping it running as good)
  4. Thats heaps good Roy. Really tho, how bad is it off boost? Like is having a ford festiva running on 3cyls better? Or its not too bad?
  5. Haha! Thats rad! I gota say tho, you wouldnt want to have any sort of head on acco... But thats so cool hey!
  6. As one gen leaves, another enters. Way things go hey.
  7. Nice one Roy. What rpm was the 230rwkw made at? And out of interest, whats your base advance timing like? (I think I have the right term there...)
  8. By gum that is nice! I've never seen the green colour, thats awesome hey.
  9. But they didnt rip him off, so its a good start!
  10. fuel reg maybe? Or maybe a bleed valve? They arent that exxy, and prob give best bang for buck. And I think a BOV would be just a TAD over $200 with an adater etc.
  11. Just so SAU doesnt get in to any strife... Smoking can harm you baby, heath, friends, others in general, can start fires, is bad for you, and SMOKING KILLS! I think that covers it all
  12. Yeah pretty much hey, because it would seem most workshops charge $66per hour... So that would work out about right, as they should be better at it as they do it more often.
  13. Nice man. Another David with a cefiro, whats the world coming too!
  14. If you know what your doing with the right tools it might be.
  15. If pedders are saying nothings wrong, thens theres a fair chance there isnt. If there is something wrong, then Id get a 2nd oppinion. Out of interest, whats your tyre pressure like?
  16. It will fit no worrys. Im not going to go out and get a tape measure, but it will fit. Your just maybe going to have to be a bit careful getting in and out of the car, more so if you have a passenger.
  17. I can! And some enjo too if you like! And then if you have nothing to use it on, I can also sell you some carpet and tiles (insert face with dollar sign eyes)
  18. You must have a broken abicus or something hey dude
  19. Then it could wander a bit on the straight stuff. Anyway, arent most cars designed with understeer to allow for the 'lowest common denominator' people???
  20. Id be guessing a hiflow of an RB20 turbo would be much the same? So going by what you got, what would be about the same as a hiflowed RB20 turbo in terms of price and power? Bolt on as well, preferably with the least amount of hassels in chaning lines etc. Its not anywhere near urgent tho.
  21. Maybe he means PFC?
  22. Id just let the local guy tune it hey. If he doesnt do a good job (go by how your mates car is, and the others blokes GTR) then go for your drive. But hell, even if you let him tune the car for an extra 2hours it would be cheaper than the drive correct?
  23. Hes not too bad, hell if he can fix Andrews car!!! I wasnt sure he could do wolf, but that confirms that he can. At least give the guy a ring. Techincally tho, all of the systems are much of a muchness, if hes good at one, hes going to be good at another, its just if there is a problem somewhere is when things get slightly trickyer trying to find out what special feature to use to fix the problem. With the popularity thingy tho, the wolf V3 wasnt so popular, now the V4 is out they seem to be doing a lot better, especially as they now have the plug in (like pfc) version, it seems its a really big insentive, really it means no one can bugger up the wiring, unless it was already like that.
  24. I cant see them being that different (prob about the same as the base map thats on the PFC to start with), but wouldnt you want a tune for YOUR car anyway??? Really, I dont think your going to be gaining anything by using another map. (assuming your trying to save dynotime)
