  1. So it well could be just that one round-a-bout. There is one near my place, its like 40kmh in the dry and 10kmh in the wet its that bad. My car isnt stock either, its going fairly hard coilovers, very hard sway bars, 2 way diff, blah blah blah. So its just that round-a-bout or your shocks. Maybe your tyres as they are getting on a bit.
  2. Umm, got caught without a licence more than once... BTW, you lot complaining will just add fuel to the fire. Let it go.
  3. No one wished me a happy birthday
  4. Few things. 1st, its a sports car, its meant to grip, so yes something is wrong, if its the car or not is the question. So, is it ONLY that round-a-bout or all of them? I have found some really bad, like they have some buildup on them. If its just that one round-a-bout, put up with it, take it easy. Is the car lowered at all? Could be excessive camber, and or the tyres wearing unevenly. Im going with the stuffed rear shocks (and probably front as well). Just go push on the back up and down for a bit, then see if it keeps going up and down without you touching it. If so shocks would be goooone. Then its time for new shocks. If so get the SK kit, its the best, by far.
  5. Its actually a better way of reporting, people love details. The facts are, he shouldnt have been driving the bloody thing. So maybe just MAYBE blame the driver who doesnt have a licence until 2012 (6 years away) for giving us the bad name, not the reporter.
  6. I beg to differ! The guy I deal with at Northfield Moorooka (brisbane) he sent me a Happy Birthday message yesterday (via caa website), asked how the system was going etc. I haven't even been in their shop for 3 months, only ever bought stuff twice and compaired to many of their other customers I havent really spent a great deal of money there. So I am happy to say some shops do continue to care, they are there for the good of the industry, unlike others who are just parasites (sp)
  7. When I did my conversion. The only things that were changed was the slave. Same pressure plate, replacement fly wheel, and new rb20 clutch with all those new bearings and stuff. I also got a few new seals on the box just to be on the safe side. Mine works fine, can chirp 5th (which I didnt mean to do, but it can do it! so it aint slipping). So Id do what the others are saying, and go back to stock stuff.
  8. A ticking noise??? Sounds more like a nail in the tyre...
  9. $$$ You want my money! Any luck with this yet????
  10. At least get a bit of pipe to your filter, fresh cold air will help. I did it to my car and noticed the difference. Apparently you need about 10hp gain to notice it. Cant tell you how much it really was, but for the little outlay, Id spend the money.
  11. That sure as hell isnt a mechanics job to drop what they are doing and go help people, then give them lifts home on the weekend. Dan for Aussie of the year! Seriously thats heaps nice of him. If he can keep that up he'll go places. So nice one Dan, 2 thumbs up and a pat on the back. RACQ is a MUST I think. Even if its just for the 10% discount at cold rock! They can give you jumpstarts, a bit of fuel, a tow, get your keys out of your locked car, all at no charge (other than the tow, but you do get a bit free) Even help getting a tyre off (say you have aftermarket wheels and nuts, and still have the stock wheel brace ) But dude, always look on the bright side of life. You have now found a good mechanic that you can trust and count on, there is something rare. You can now save yourself 50c on a christmas card to your 'good friend'. And tomorrow is going to be a better day, cause sure as shit it cant be worse!
  12. 2L 4cly 'vs' 3.5L V6...? The S2000 is still the better car. What that s2000 engine does stock is nothing short of amazing. If I had $80k floating about, Id be going the S2000 over almost any other car in that price range any day.
  13. Heading down that way now mate, so I'll keep a look out.
  14. Pull it off, get some electrical contact cleaner, spray away. Spooks, I doubt the afm clean is going to get you the economy your after. Id recomend stop wasting money on things it might be. Get it down to Matty and get it on the dyno. He should be able to find the problem very quickly. Sure he is exxy, but if he can say this is what needs fixing, you dont need to do this and this, you have just saved money.
  15. I should change mine to window seals. Its the ones on the chrome trim, around the windows. So my window is a bit loose. Benifit, you see more chrome! I need them replaced.
  16. I need door seals too, Im pretty lost as to who to even try.
  17. 1st car? As in you just got your Ps? Also if your in NSW you cant have the skyline anyway. Not a turbo one at least. Also going by your 'cars' you have it says you have a gtst already, so whats going on??? If you have just got your Ps get a shitbox you can afford with no loan or anything. Thrash it till it dies, in 3 years buy your good car. Just make sure you have full compo the whole time, it will save you money when you are older.
  18. Compleatly unrelated to the topic. But injector service for $100??? Including labour!? Dude thats good hey.
  19. Jason, you will be happy as man! Wooo I stop fast now. All I have is different pads and more weight than you. So your face is going to come off when stopping.
  20. Thats where my shocks were rebuilt... BEFORE they went to how they are now (which is worse, the owner changed). I suggest strongly you speak to SydneyKid before handing your money over, ask him about my shocks, what was in there, and what is in there now. There is just no comparison. I can go round corners 10kmh faster now and with less effort, and tyre stress. That and those shock reco fellas only give a 30day warrenty on coilovers
  21. Dude just keep using the box until you cant change gears. THATS when you need a replacement. Its a 18-14yo sports car with more power than standard, you have to expect it to wear a bit. That or get it rebuilt, cost about as much as a 2nd hand rb20 box. I went the RB25 box simply because I dont like spending money twice, as I'll be doing an rb30 at some stage, the rb25 box was the way to go.
  22. I decided to go with the Dunlops, they go on tomorrow, so I'll report back after the weekend with how they go. Managed to get them down to $337. BTW, if anyone hasnt noticed yet, if you ring lets say a bobjane, and think their prices are all the same, just try ringing another 1 or 2... I also got the G3s down to $280 with my SAuQld discount if anyone is interested.
  23. Heading down Jimboomba way, probably 10-15mins south of Browns Plains.
  24. Id say lucky they didnt know you were listening to Hi 5...
