  1. Other road rules consist of... Illegal u-turns, going straight from a turning lane, failing to indicate early enough, not parking close enough to the gutter, leaving highbeams on when less than 200m from another car... How about this cool question. Who here has been done for drink driving, who here has drink driven but not been caught. Who here has drug driven (because we know you havent been caught I wont ask that) and did you feel it was safe and ok for you to drive, would you do it again. Lets see who answers those questions honestly. Or if anyone answers them at all.
  2. Dude loss of OVER 200 points. You can not call that revenue rasing. Ever.
  3. So one can still go round corners safly and the other cant. Cool! That said the civic is probably giving it a good hiding. My mates fwd corolla is still being run in on 6psi and obviously less revs, stock computer shocking tune etc, and his car just EATS mine. When he gets the haltech he has installed and tuned, runs 20psi, and revs it out to 8500rpm... I highly doubt a mild to mid modded gtr will beat it (assuming he doesnt snap drive shafts, gearboxes, and somehow gets enough traction to move forwards). But his car wont go round corners, its f'ing scary now in a straight line. Moral is, you put big motors in little cars they will go very quickly, but probably wont be any good at anything else.
  4. LoL fair point. I dont think they ever made 12 fingered keyboards! *Jokes dude, dont get mad!*
  5. Jas man, once is one thing you can get unlucky, this is just insane, and is far from bad luck. This person just has no respect for cops, or the law. Trust me.
  6. Wasnt some dude in NZ doing that same thing? Either way, you are my hero, I love you. Please keep things updated. Might be handy when I sometime get the money and time to get one in the cef.
  7. If your car is that low, it does not handel as well as it could, it is that low for looks, that or you have been misguided with your optium suspension height. That or you have 150+ mm speed bumps round where you live. Thing is, the general public dont have hight adj coilovers on their car. Its a limited number of people whos cars can take hight adj suspension, then there is the people who actually adj coilovers on their cars, then the people who have $3k to pay for something such as this, after they have paid for their new suspension, new exaust, new front bar and paint... when in all honesty their cars would be better off higher anyway from the handeling perspective. If their sole intention is not to 'pimp' (ie dick) around but to be front bumper and exaust friendly. I think your going to be in a very little boat with no padle going towards some rapids rather quickly. That and how do you get the whole lock nut thing to work, so once you have made the adjustment it locks in place? Im not saying its a bad idea, I just dont think its going to be overly marketable, or if it will infact get ADR approval. Or I should rephrase. It might get ADR approval, but not be legal on Australian public roads. If its not marketable as your potential customer base is too small, what you going to do?
  8. And as I am TELLING, not suggesting etc. Is that you pay the ticket, and appeal the suspension of the licence. If he has the option of a probational licence without needing court, you go that option, get a $500 shitbox and just only drive to work and back. Because as you say, you are never going to beat the cops on a speeding ticket in court. Especially when you have admited being in the wrong.
  9. Just most dont put out... Anyway. Technically I have lost it twice (depends on interpritation). But I have legally always been allowed to drive. 'Lost' it went on probation, lost that, court, was allowed to finish probation. Now been on opens for almost 2 years, and havent been pulled over for quite some time now. When I was on probation, especially the 2 months after the court hearing, my mates really helped me out. I always drove to their place (ie the safe drive) and then we went wherever from there, I chipped in for fuel etc. Had I kept driving Im sure I would have made one small mistake like forgetting to indicate once or something and lost it. After that we went back to normal sharing the driving around. Sad when people stop talking to you tho.
  10. QLD club doesnt have cams affiliation as yet... Hence my not mentioning it. I think the exuctives decided its not worth it as yet due to not enough events needing it up here. You guys have more tracks down there. ATM at least anyway. I was saving almost $50 a corner on my tyres, not cheap tyres but hey. Its worth it, trust me.
  11. As I said, you dont try and convince them you werent in the wrong. I dont think he is saying he wasnt. It is 17kmh over, its enough but he hasnt given us how it happened, and I dont believe its really our business to know. He has asked a question, and asked for help. Not a bloody witch hunt. You appeal against the suspension. It just means a lot of stuffing about for 2 days. The day you pay the fine, and the day of the court hearing. I would think most people would learn not to do it again once going to court. Its really not fun.
  12. You should have heard my mechanic go off at me about that stuff, mobil 1, penrite stuff etc. He said ONLY motul as its easy enough to get now, and not all that exxy. The turbolite stuff being fine for resonably stock cars. He does stock it, but he also tells me to go get it from autobarn as its cheaper than him selling it to me. So he isnt getting anything out of it.
  13. ^^^ that one is nice. Other than the grill and the exaust. Dude, someone twisted your exaust! Paint is heaps nice tho.
  14. This person has lost over 200points. And has had a much larger spur debt than that. Trust me, they know who and what they are talking about. and... IT IS NOT A NICE CEFFY DAMN IT! Its got rust all thru it etc.
  15. As already explained it doesnt. Car goes down, needs different settings for near on everything else. Goes back up, needs to change again... I think the people that would want this type of product would be happy enough with airbags, or hydrolics anyway. Id be thinking the reason why most of this type of gear is illegal isnt because it is unsafe, but more so its pointless for anything other than showing off. Which the law doesnt want us to do in road driven cars. Showing off becomes a hazard. Also if your product cant be safly adjusted while driving, I doubt it will get very far in terms of getting adr'ed. The other slight problem you might have is if its only useable on hight adj 'race type' coilovers, then your market is limited even more. I dont know that many lancers that have hight adj coilovers on them. Many of the guys on here have them to handel better, not so they can move the car up and down when they feel like it. Seriously good luck. But your product might need some tweeking and be better off getting sold to 4x4 guys whos cars are too high to fit in the garage.
  16. http://img84.imageshack.us/img84/2605/sund...ilhoondd1ls.jpg http://img104.imageshack.us/img104/4458/ho...ndaymail0to.jpg Well done mate. Looks like someone sold you out with the pics too. Shame it wasnt the old falcon not a cefiro. If I get targeted because of this, I shall not be very amused. To everyone else. THIS is why we get a bad name. Not our fault, up to a point not even the drivers fault. He should have been stopped ages ago, the govt should have stepped in and stopped him LONG ago. Either way, it isnt good. So I blame the driver for being a numbnuts and not learning after the first 200 points. I then blame the govt for letting him get to even 30 points. I mean, 30 points is a lot of tickets. In-excess of 200 is just insane! So enjoy your time...
  17. $55k for a 20yo glorifed volvo? That isnt even painted... If it was one of the gold plated ones however...
  18. Oh, I forgot. The alfa 147 gta. 3.2l V6. FWD again. Same with the Brera, I doubt you couldnt call that a sports car. One thing tho. No such thing as a FWD Supercar. Sports car yes, supercar no.
  19. Nice dude nice. Take on the challenge! You would be earning some bickies on that Id assume I doubt you will have much trouble with the cops. Few people have a beef with them, but I havent been pulled over since September last year, and even that was just an RBT. I even used to go down to the 'dreaded' carpark every weekend, which is apparently locked down every week for defects (which it isnt). So yeah should be fine. Use it as a daily driver. Thats assuming you dont wear half hats, or a proper hat backwards. Then you will be in jail by the end of the week.
  20. The money goes to the running of the club. Such as we have a club display it is paid for by the club. Say we go for a cruise and parking needs to be paid for. Its pre arranged and paid for. Free or cheaper food on cruises etc (non members pay or pay more). I doubt any club could afford pli on cruises... who the hell would insure 100 skylines, in the one place at once, even if we are extreamly well behaved . So yeah, answer the question, thats where your money goes. Back to the members and further promoting the club, and they arent cheap stickers! 3 colours! (sure not $55 worth but hey). BTW, the discount on the tyres alone pays for it for at least a year. Nice car also. If I had the dosh Id love to move up to an R34. The colour is awesome. Very much look forward to seeing new photos and the car in person. Enjoy it.
  21. What I have been told is stainless is no longer stainless after it reaches a certin temp. And this is where the apparent problem is. I've always been told steam pipe (is this the same as mild steel?) as its far less likely to crack as you can use a different weld, it holds in the heat better (exaust side not always a problem, hotter air is thinner, thinner air moves faster, spool quicker...) Which is I guess is also the reason the cast ones are good. Give you something else to think about.
  22. So what colour is it really? Is it bright red? Like fire-engine red?
  23. And why did we get Avalons over Chasers... Anyway. The renult thing, it does have a RWD version with a 2l V6 where you would normally find the rear seats. The orginal version was just stupid, REALLY bad turning circle. Few you missed, turbo astra. The power they have is just insane. ST focus, 5cyl 2.5l turbo in a fwd car (volvo engine) I saw the thing on top gear, it went ok. Golf GTi, VERY good car. Megane (sp?) turbo, once again massive power. Then a few years back you had the sportivo corollas with the celica engine. The festiva has a 2l version as well now. All FWD, all a lot of power for the size of the car. Thing is, there is a trend. They are all of simlar cost (at least in europe where their biggest market is) size, etc. People just want a fast version. The cost to do one off awd or rwd versions just for the sake of doing it is pointless, and just not marketable for the extra cost. (leaving out the R32 golfs, they are a different car limited numbers and you pay for it) In regards to the bigger cars, I guess most middle Australia doesnt care that much about handleing. However your big fords and holdens have been loosing sales. Your 'sports' camarys etc obviously arent sports, its like an 'S pac' commo, you get a body kit and for that essencially a slower car. But they look ok, and are more econmical than their RWD counterparts. That and the euro and japanese sedans are doing much better now as they are far better cars. Handeling, well 40years to develop it with todays technology is good enough for me, they know how the stuff works, so they can build it so it can.
  24. Blah Blah Blah. Anyway. I too was in the same situation. So no one has a go at me. 1 point, mums car baled tyre didnt know it was there, wrong spot wrong time. 3 points (14kmh over 13kmh was 1 point) approx 11months after defect. I was in a 70zone just going in to the 60 zone (compton rd sunnybank end right near beauy road) cop was VERY well hidden, he was there because some drunk 16yo ran a red light in to a truck the week before... So thats 4 points on my Ps. Needed it for work so option was good behaviour. Then 9 months in to that (one month off my opens, as you can still get your opens even while on probation) I was done going up Mt Cootha by our hawian shirt wearing friends. They were not particuarly nice, were VERY rude to my lady friend who was in the car at the time, once again JUST on that 3 point mark, and I didnt realise Mt Cootha was a 50kmh zone, at night suprisingly enough I was watching the road... So then thats probabtion licence gone. There are NO busses to my work, and as an estimator I need my licence to do site measures. My sister was also working in the Vally as a chef at the time, and I would need to occasionally pick her up (you do NOT let a 17yo girl walk around that place at night ever) So, if you wish to say to the crime do the time... Go for gold, however 3 tickets, and just unlucky, almost the least amount of points and the most amount of time to loose it. So HA! BTW speeding doesnt kill, its peoples inablity to know how to drive with it. You crash because you dont understand what the speed is doing. The crash is the problem. So anyway... What you will need to do is... PAY THE FINE asap, you are not admiting you were not in the wrong. You are appealing against the suspension. You then need to go to YOUR local court, this is based on your registered home address. You need to let them know everything, they will give you a hearing date, and some forms etc. By doing this keep in mind you have NO points, and your licence is suspened, however you are allowed to keep driving until your court date as you have appealed the suspension. You will need a letter from your work to say how important it is that you keep your licence. You will also need to wright (yourself) an afidavit. This will need to basically outline why you feel you need to keep your licence. So once again the work issue, say no public transport to work, anything else as well such as defencive driving courses (unless you did one before ALL of your tickets, then the judge will feel it was pointless you doing the course). The court will hand you a list of your traffic offences. Look neat and tidy in the court room. Be well spoken, answer all questions promptly and politely as posible. He/she is 'Your Honour'. I was in and out within 2mins. I just had to see out my probabtion period (2months by this stage). My father also came along, also dressed nice. It was obvious to the judge he had taken time off work to give me moral support. After this you will then be given a form, and need to go to DOT to sort out some more paper work. I have also heard of a number of cases where people have been stupid enough to get done again. They then get another 12months probabtion. Hope that helps
