1st thing. That picture is NOT what they look like. They have an extra bonnet bulge. So the bonnet looks like arse. The turbo is TINY, like I think it would be smaller than my std RB20 one. But I guess its all set up differently with the direct injection etc. I think one of the MAJOR advantages would be, the thing has a factory warrenty... I would also go the 3l 6cyl Blitzen (sp?) liberty, its the new funky one, and its about the same price. Its got the same power, looks better, def a way better stereo, and its ment to be an awd car from day 1, unlike the 6.

Maybe thats your fuel useage problem?

Point is, if you dont speed, you wont get pulled over... If the people that do speed do get pulled over, then you would win...

Mine doesnt, but then thats how my old one broke so I dont care. Really eclipse is where its at, its a tad tricky to get used to, but SQ over almost anything else is just amazing. I honestly thought I had a new set of speakers in my car after it was installed, it was just THAT much better. There are a few small niggly things I liked about my old one more, but hey, its all about the sound, or should be anyway. Really just take a CD with you (if you have lots of MP3s, take one of those too) and listen and play with all the decks in your price range. Ask the shops if they want to get rid of any display stock, you might get something a lot better a LOT cheaper. But if it feels like its going to fall apart, it most probably will.

Personally, I cant do without my big brakes, working windscreen wipers, decent lights, aircon, seals that work, suspension that isnt off a tractor, safe seatbelts, power steering! etcetc. And Im not THAT fussy, I just like to be safe. 10 years ago was 1996... japanese cars were picking up then. I see where you are going, but in another 5 years time, cars from the 50s will be 60years old, anything that is even remotely decent will be worth too much for someone to just drop a jap motor in it. I see where your going, just I dont think it will happen. I think in 10years time, if you have a car that uses over a timble full of petrol to fill the tank you will get shot at. Just put a ford engine in there, even turbo a mustang 6cyl? I know the lexus motor is near on the bees knees. Its like putting a chev 350 in a ford gt40, its just so wrong, even if it is a better motor.

JHHill the best. Only (that I have ever heard of) one bad thing said about his work, which he admits to. Hes pretty handy with the RBs, and he does the work on the Jett racing ute, that really fast dark green one... Id go see him.

Do not put a lexus motor in a mustang. You will get your cred right up until poping the bonnet, then you will see a LOT of very angry red necks. Its just wrong to do it hey. Go look up a 66 dodge charger. See if you like that. But a real keeper would be a 3L subi liberty Nice cars.

I think its good for drift if ford is throwing a bit of money around at it. Good on them, looks ok, bit too much for me but yeah.

Someone up here in qld actually has an r33 with the 4.5l q45 V8 in it, AND a supercharger With the ae86, someone else up here has one with an rb25 in it, to say the least it hauls. Then there is the 180sx with the 2jz in it, and one big mofo turbo... Then the starlet with the 3sgte in it... But rb25 is a sensible option. Id just like someone to do the rb30 before me so I know if there is going to be any problems

PS. accomodation would be my sisters old room, you would have to cook a minium of 1 nite a week otherwise my Ps would crack it and throw you outside.

Try get a cheapy ecu from the wreckers and get a dr drift chip. Its really the best and most economical option I would think.

One place of interest in Dalby is their tourist center. In this tourist center they advertise the area is a wheat growing area (as you have just spent the past 2 hours driving past nothing BUT wheat). One of the attractions listed to go visit at the tourist center, is in fact the tourist center. May I sugest you buy a playstation and a number of games before you get there. Maybe take a power generator as well, and some telegraph cabling... Just to be safe.

Kinda just... Id seriously look in to the RB30det deal. A number of guys are running standard VL bottom end with just the head on and a resonable size turbo and getting good figures. They are near on a square block so it should be fine. Just double check all the pricing first hey. BTW, if you do do it, film the WHOLE process, then give me a copy of the tape

Id debat the thing with the wet weather. I guess it would depend on the tread patter to some extent. Some cars I have been in with them on, bit of rain, bloody hell, never again.

I've kept the sidemount for 2.5 years, not a problem 12-13psi all day every day, 150ish rwkw... And beat many a simliar modded R32 (ie LIGHTER car) with fmic's... You work it out. I also havn't been pulled over for 2 years, at all.

Cost to KMs, and wet weather would be two of the big ones.
