  1. Ok, so Im in the boat of needing new tyres again (the bobjane dude even said 'You back again ALREADY!' (suspension probs)) Soooo going thru this it would seem a few tyres keep coming up and rate highly with everyone. The rest there were some mixed reactions. I think 14pages is enough to narrow it down to the following. Size I need is 215/45/17, I got the following prices today from BobJane with my SAuQld Discount. Toyo T1Rs $250 (not bobjane) Mich Piolet Sports $470+ (I can not justify that money) Brig SO3s $330 Brig G3s $299 Dunlop SP9000s $350 So obviously the T1Rs are by far the cheapest. I have G3s on the car now and find them ok, but I think I could to a fair bit better. Duncan and SK rate the Dunlops quite highly, and they do actually know what they are talking about. And the SO3s dont really have a lot of info other than that wheels test... So given the prices, tyres will be used on the street only, it is my daily car, and does a fair wack of highway miles. What would you lot go for?
  2. PLEASE PM SK with your problem. He just put in new bilstein shocks in to my existing coilover casing, matched to my springs (which werent too hard, yours might be). It will cost you more, but dude, its seriously worth the dosh.
  3. I've seen a 260kmh one about 2 years ago... But never a 280. Thats rad. Does it work?
  4. Is anyone able to confirm that they have actually done this to their car? No offence intended. But I could type up the same thing without having actually done it.
  5. Bloody hell hey. You got the cradle bushes done yet? And I know you just got a decent wheel alinment so it shouldnt be that. Bit odd tho. Because I know of a number of cars putting down a lot more power than that, with far worse suspension. Forgot that mattys dyno reads low tho... So that could be part of it.
  6. I guess if your not snapping them it doesnt matter. And to be honest most of it is probably your clutch not snapping them. But if you do start snapping them, you have to start to think. The extra 20kgs might be worth it. If you have to constantly replace or rebuild rb20 boxes, it kinda takes the fun away. That is assuming you are still doing track days for mostly fun, and not some form of paid competition.
  7. Well I got my car back yesterday after it had been sydneykidised. And yeah. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY ON CHEAP JAPANESE (or expencive for that matter) SHOCKS. DO IT RIGHT ONCE. Its like night and day. Its almost like they say on all those car shows about supercars 'awesome in the turns yet still driveable!'. Just pay the money, even if you dont get it thru SK (as much as you would have to be stupid not to).
  8. You know what would help tho... A big electoro magnet down the other end of the 1/4
  9. As if man, you made that up.
  10. Mines factor manual too. 3500lb clutch, not a worry...
  11. Huh? Not a liberty RS or something??? If its the B4 dude, that is a rather high end stereo. I do hope your talking about an RS.
  12. I just hope he drives them. But damn check out the brakes on the Carerra GT!
  13. Ahh ok. For me he would be a very close 2nd, they are pretty bloody good. My mechanic has always dealed with Jim so yeah, I went down that track.
  14. If the guy is still there they are good tuners. (Think its Robert or Robin...?) Listen to what they have to say
  15. There is a product called plain chant, its from fusion from memory. They are like foam rubber bricks.
  16. So the REAL moral of this story is, you need better suspension, and better tyres, and put your power back up to where it should be And personally I dont like PFC's, I think the only reason they gained any popularity is because they were plug and play, and cheaps as. Now other companys have cottoned on to the idea of plug and play computers, hopefully it wont be too long until people start to realised. That said tho, most people really have no need for the extra features, or even the pfc hand controller. Thats my rant anyway. Also Matty tuning for mines or hks? What a waste! Keep him here where he can actually help people out.
  17. Its Squizz, who cares? I bet he has realised the error in his ways and is trying to find an auto cefiro
  18. 3L subi liberty, top line one. They are heaps nice. Or, a chaser, because its what I wanted but had to settle with a cefiro. Or, V35 sedan, I quite like them. In that order. However if I won lotto it would be a different matter
  19. Any joy yet dude? That or just send me a PM with where it needs to be picked up from?
  20. Roy, something you might not have thought of (tho I guess you have) is WHERE the intercooler is mounted. My mechanic has had a few people come in with the problem of the air goes thru the cooler, gets far to turbulent, and doesnt go thru the radiator effectively. All he did was move the cooler say an inch closer to the radiator and problem solved. No more over heating. That or go to a V mount
  21. That and it broke his dyno LOL! But yeah, he is a top guy alright. The size of his head just shows you his smartness is just osing out! Also, I would like to say, I feel we should have a story from a member each week such as this! Keep things interesting.
  22. Mine was about $90-100 a corner adr.
  23. There have been a number of cases where car co's have sold the car for less than cost to simply creat an image knowing that no one would pay the cost of the car much less with a profit being made on it. Evos a few years back were below cost from the dealer. Those big fast Jag things were sold cheap as chips for what they were. As a few examples.
  24. Hmm, I should have phrased better. Jims advice on what to get to suit the application is probably why his are so good. He makes sure you get the right clutch for what you are using it for, then explains why. Jim and SK are the only two people I have ever come across to spend the time and have practical knowledge, to make sure you know what you are spending your money on, and why you are wasting it going down another path. For that even if I could get the EXACT same product cheaper I would still go with Jim just out of courtesy. That and does anyone else do his carbon clutches?
