  1. My wisdom is free for all of earth's habitants
  2. I had the same opporutnity to make Tracy and Cam think I was #1 some weekends ago in Perth. I had the odd humorous, rib poking comments from my fellow competitors about being a "has been" and I should have stayed retired, where's my walking frame etc. But both Tracy and Cam encouraged me to go, and I was doing it for them. I also did it for me, just to see if I could still do it. I left Perth with two 2nd placings in the Australian Titles and I did it for myself and my family ... no one else. You know what? ... I don't think I would have done so well if it wasn't for them either. Whether its for recreation, competition or just because your family asked you to ... do it to set a good role model for the family.
  3. "Two fat moles" shouldn't be ruining your day Ben. You can't go rating your day based on what other random people think of you or your car. The only opinions that count are yours and family's. Did your kids think dad was cool out on track? Thats all that matters mate. Thankfully I didn't cop any negativity (that I know of) when my Stagea went out for the Phillcom Time Attack. I was out there doing it and having fun, rather than being the 'armchair expert'. And I went home without a broken car.
  4. Okay, we don't want things taken the wrong way. We've been praised for our maturity and professionalism for the weekend, so lets keep it that way. At the end of the day, we all gave it a go and had fun in doing so.
  5. GTR gear up front is 325mm, so yes will fit under 17" rims as long as the offset is correct, so the calipers clear the spokes of your rims. I'd love these myself, but I have GTT gear now. GL with the sale.
  6. Jolly good then old chap!
  7. Actually, when you say you removed (didn't use) the PVC valve, did you still have the hose from the plenum to the rocker covers (just without the PVC valve). If you did, then thats your problem. On vacuum your sucking oil vapours into the plenum ... and on boost you'd be boosting air into the engine, pushing the oil out any exit, ie the catch can.
  8. The PVC valve allows pressure out, not in ... so I don't believe that is contributing to your problem. I would take a compression test. If compression is leaking past your piston rings, that'd be the contributor. Hard to diagnose over the internet in any case.
  9. Got to be asked ... have you done a compression test?
  10. How about you delete his post then ban him
  11. PM replied to about the catch can.
  12. Just caught this thread. Damn, that sucks Rodney. Hope there's something useful there to fix/sell.
  13. More info sourced from guys who've done the comparison overseas with pics ... One source claims the standard RB25DET pump appears shallow, whereas the Neo water pump is deeper, but there is no comment on the blade design/difference. No pics were available to back it up. Below is an N1 water pump vs OEM RB25DET pump. Blades are obviously different: The N1 flows less than OEM for a balanced high RPM setup. The OEM flows more than N1 and is good for street and light track time. Above is the N1 compared to an EOM Neo pump. One source says the NEO pump looks like Nissan addressed the flow issue they were having at mid-high RPM (again, no pics/evidence to support this). Below is a pic of an RB25/RB26 pump (non N1/non Neo) So ... best way to solve the argument is to get our hands on the 3 types of pumps (OEM RB25, OEM RB25 Neo, N1) and measure volume/capacity/depth, and blade specs and take pics. So who's got some spare waterpumps lying around?
  14. How is it different? Where is the source? I'm trying to find specs but they don't exist. Just spoke to Nissan and even they don't know how they are different. What I have found is: Part #21010-70TY5 ($110) - for R32 GTST Part #21010-58S25 ($120) - for R32 GTR Part #21010-21U26 ($175) - for R33 GTST/GTR, R34 GTR, and series 1 Stagea Part #21010-AA527 ($260) - for R34 GTT, series 2 Stagea Part #21010-24U27 ($380) - for N1 Skyline GTR Note: they say "for" not "fit", so you could interchange.
  15. Another one??? Time to get an alarm fitted people! Buy a clublock too if you don't already have one. Alarm + clublock + hidden kill switch = WIN SAU-SA club membership gets you 10% off at Ministry of Bass and Autobarn if that helps.
  16. +1 Your belts are off and you've drained the coolant anyway to remove the radiator ... its just so easy to do the waterpump too at the same time. I am doubtful tho about the Neo waterpump being different. Is there a link to some info confirming this?
  17. I'd rather believe a pro, than forum 'experts'.
  18. Officer Neil invited himself to one of my Stagea cruises many moons ago. We had 25 Stageas at the meeting point and Officer Neil and his associate asked us to pop open our bonnets. He told me there and then, he wasn't there to defect us for minor mods. He knows we all modifiy our cars and said he'd really only attack the blatantly obvious unsafe mods/condition of the car. You know how many cars he defected? None. Zero. Zilch. And that included Ben's 350+awkw 260RS. Tho I have heard some stories about Officer Niel, its second hand information/heresay and alot of whinging on the forums. I've met the guy myself, had him go over my car ... twice ... and I still believe he is a fair bloke. Even if he does talk funny Its simple. Don't be a dick, and you'll stand a better chance. To be honest, Neil is just another cop doing a job (right or wrong). Its only because he's done the rounds enough and enough people know his name, that we have a name to whinge about when a defect is issued.
  19. No worries. I've got a nephew's birthday at 1pm (if I don't go, I'll be shot), so I'll come in and setup, hang about for a chat for a few hours, then head off before 12pm to go to the party. Will return for Stag after 3pm.
  20. Gates open at 8am. Scrutineering starts at 8.20am. You'll want to be thru the gate at 8am for sign on. The event secretary will then decide where you will be allocated. Can I advise to bring a waterproof jacket, suncream, and nice comfy shoes.
  21. I reckon I'm sorted. Thanks anyway.
  22. PM thats how I roll
