  1. No not 24 of them. More than likely the most will be 2 inlet valves on one cylinder and 2 exhaust valves on another cylinder. Try measuring the valve clearances to see if that gives an indication of which set of inlet and exhaust valves are bent. If thats too hard, then remove the head, remove the cams (so all valves should be closed), tip the head onto its exhaust side outside and pour kero/fuel down each inlet port, if there is a leak then there's your bent valves ... then do it again to the exhaust side. Mark the bent valves and note which cylinder they're from. While you're there, might as well remove the valves and see about cleaning any carbon build up from them. Round wire brush on a drill does the trick nicely. But probably let the head specialist do the work. Just make it easier for him by identifying the bent valves (following the steps above). BTW, I gave you my advice yesterday while lying in hospital waiting for xrays ... don't say I'm not dedicated
  2. You must line up timing marks with belt still on. I'm convinced you've bent valves. Turning the cams opens valves out of time with the crank. Then forcing the crank to turn makes the piston bend valves. Way to test is remove cam covers and check valve clearances. A big gap means valves are bent and not seating properly. Meaning compression loss.
  3. Go back inside your square. You're all the same. Talking like that gets you nowhere no matter what your excuse. We're Skyline enthusiasts here. Insults won't get you anywhere but banned. Ta ta!
  4. Sell the Commonwhore, buy a Skyline. Problem solved.
  5. Mate, you bent valves or worse. You should line up the timing BEFORE removing the belt. Engine won't start due to compression loss due to bent valves. Time to pull the head off.
  6. Its an easy fix mate. Buy a replacement key from Nissan. Remove radiator, remove pulley and bits of broken key. I suspect the key is actually missing and engine eventually worked crank bolt loose. I can assist if needs. No need to remove engine or buy new one. It'll be a $5 part. Ruby
  7. that sucks to hear Brendan. Wish I did have time to drop by yesterday. I'm at the hospital atm. Slight training accident. Waiting for xrays.
  8. Rotors are 290mm in diameter, and 28mm thick for those asking. Still up for grabs. Cheap upgrade.
  9. I'll duck in sometime tomorrow Nigel to return your camera.

  16. Wow! I've moved up the board from 8th to 7th (out of 14) despite my times for the day. Goes to show just being in it gets you points Modified Class (5.5 to 10 Modified Points) 7th. Reuben Coulthard - RS4 STAGEA - SAU-SA - 30 Points Maybe a few SAU peeps can get in on the action too
  17. Normal track days, YOU are responsible for ensuring your car is track worthy. Events like Time Attacks, they will check for leaks (fuel/oil), brake pedal feel, brake lights working, steering slackness, no loose items outside car, no loose items inside car (empty glove box etc) ... and of course, long sleeves, pants, good shoes, and of course a lid. BTW after last weekend, my Bridgestones got a hell of a workout ... might need new rubber soon myself
  18. We LOVE our stags here in Adelaide
  19. Sunday 15th August 2010 (2 weeks from this sunday). Meet by 7.30am ... Depart by 7.45am. Meet spot to be advised by PM ... PM me for meet spot location. Maps showing the route of the cruise will be handed out on the day. Cruise will take us from a near city location, out into the NE hills to SE hills then back into metro Adelaide for a lunch stop around 12 noon. Those who cannot make the morning cruise can still meet us for lunch.
  20. ... oh, and aren't the slots in the rotors meant to run the other way? I think you may have left on right, and right on left.
  21. Yeah, its referred to as "the volvo" alot around here ... but I've been hearing the reference to a "hearse" more and more lately But at 1m32s lap times ... this grim reaper won't be collecting any souls just yet
  22. I screwed up the use of the camera a few times, but I'm downloading the vids during my lunch break (in 10 minutes or so) and I hope to post them up. I'm sure I got the vid of my fastest lap. The Stagea got noticed alot too ... lots of pics taken of the Stag in action (will hit up the photography websites later this week) ... very unusual (apparently) to Time Attack a heavy family wagon
