  1. While I'm waiting for my R34 brakes to arrive for the Stagea, I decided to remove the passenger mirror and hunt for any rust coming thru. Found some just starting and decided to rub it all back and treat it so it won't spread. Two more weeks until Time Attack ... so in two weeks I'll need to fit the R34 brakes, braided lines, bleed the brake system thru with fresh DOT4 fluid, oil change, filter change, O2 sensor change, and a dyno tune.
  2. Abe I might be able to help you out with this tomorrow (Sunday). Its not my crane, so I shouldn't let it out of my sights. What do you need done? Simple engine pull?
  3. When I know for sure what they are, I'll let you know.
  4. Problem is that most sutff I've read says the R33 GTST and R34 GTT calipers are worlds apart. The R34 GTT calipers have longer legs, as well as being 14mm in bolt size. You know what? When I get my R34 stuff, I might ask around to borrow R32 GTR, R33 GTST and R34 GTT calipers and rotors to document the fitment, so there is less conflicting information.
  5. Its not a pissing contest ... and I work early and finish late, so will try to get pics when and where I can. Besides its 4 pics against a proven 'tired and failed' fitment. I can't be bothered pulling everything off again, until I'm going to fit the R34 GTT stuff ... so when the calipers arrive, I'll take the time to dummy the R33 stuff in place again and take pics to prove they do not fit. Means, I don't believe it. I'm reading conflicting opinions. The only way to find out for sure was to fit the kit myself, which isn't fitting ... so what do you think my conclusion will be? Granted, perhaps the calipers are Z32 ... I'll find out what I can. In the meantime, I don't care much for proving or disproving this anymore ... I have R34 stuff coming and that'll go on. I'll take pics when I can of the R33 problems, and then the R34 stuff going on for future reference.
  6. Nah, straight to his man-boobs
  7. Yep got them thanks Too bad they're not going on the stag now Lots like I'll be doing the time attack with bog stock brakes ... yay
  8. That might be the case. I decided not to bother with getting to the bottom of the R33 caliper/rotor issue and I'm just buying the R34 calipers and rotors and being done with it. Contacted the seller of the (R33?) calipers and asked if they are indeed 33 calipers. If not I'll chuck em.
  9. Sorry. I can't believe that. The R33 GTST brakes certainly do not fit my Stagea.
  10. I'm getting conflicting information all over the place. I just want a straight answer and it appears I've found out for myself ... R33 GTST calipers do not fit a series 2 Stagea. The R33 GTST calipers and R33 GTST rotors do not fit. So ... anyone with a series 2 Stagea, do not buy the R33 GTST front brakes. If you believe they will fit, then buy mine.
  11. Sucks to hear. Hope the poor owner gets a suitable outcome.
  12. How about you come on down and see for yourself!!!
  13. Finally booked my flights and accommodation for Perth trip next month.
  14. Its not just the bolt holes being 14mm on stagea and 12mm on R33. The R33 GTST calipers do not fit the series 2 Stagea. Even the stock 280mm stagea rotor is fouling on the R33 caliper. I dummy the R33 GTST caliper in place with no rotor, take the measurement, and it looks like it would require a 270mm rotor to fit. So the 297mm R33 rotor would need to be machined down to 270mm ... thus being 10mm smaller than the stock stagea rotor, so it'd be going backwards, being a downgrade not an upgrade. The S2 stagea requires the R34 calipers with the longer legs on the calipers, and matching rotors. R33 GTST rotors and calipers do not fit my series 2 Stagea. If any series 2 Stagea owners had it fit theirs, I'd like to see how you did it. But I'm convinced it cannot be done.
  15. +1 Was going to look this up for you ... but spent all day yesterday moving bricks ... and today fixing IT problems. Whats the trick to removing rear hubs guys. Got a link? Like I said, been busy ... even too busy for the search function
  16. WTF??? Call him back and tell him he's an idiot! So he's admitting that it is a standard factory item in japan ... but its not acceptable in australia??? BS ... he's admitted its not defectable basically. Try going over him and speak to his ranking officer.
  17. I've got an engine crane, but I'm using it for a job tomorrow. When did you need it and for how long. Its not mine, so I'll have to ask a mate to third party its use.
  18. If any series 1 owners want a cheap brake upgrade, I'm selling the R33 calipers and rotors for $300! PM me
  19. R34 GTT front rotors and R34 GTT front calipers PM me please
  20. Not really related to cars, but has some merit in the argument ... Twice I had a lacky touch/service my motorbikes and twice they almost killed me. One example was when I purchased my used (22,000kms) TL1000R and asked for a new set of tyres to go on. I go for my first weekend ride with it and the brakes are awful. Turns out the pads were down to almost metal. The fu<kwit apprentice had to remove the calipers to remove the front wheel to fit the new tyre. Don't tell me he didn't notice the dangerously worn pads. I was furious! Another example is I'm getting my Brutale serviced. Decided to go to Hungry's on West Tce for lunch while I wait. Not 5 minutes later I hear a high revving bike coming down the road, back wheel chattering under compression lock as the rider pulls into the same Hungry Jacks ... it was my f**king bike he was thrashing. P-plater had stuck the P plate covering the licence plate (how many red light/speeding tickets did he accumulate?). I burst out the restaurant and reamed the young fool. Thrashing a f**king $19K italian bike!!! He claimed he was test riding it after servicing it. Funny that I only dropped it off in the last 5-7 minutes!!! He must be an awesome guy to service it in 5 minutes and race to Hungrys for the test ride. Left him there and took my bike back to the dealer and reamed them too. Now when I get my bikes serviced, I ask to meet and speak to the (over 25) person who will be working on my bike. And I know its harsh, but I let them know I will take no bullshit when it comes to my bikes. Treat them like you'd treat your most valued possession. One of my most favourite stickers: "If you value your life as much as I value my bike ... don't f**k with it!"
  21. I have R33 GTST brakes for sale fronts only. Sumitomo calipers with pads, and 297mm rotors. Yes, I just discovered these do not fit series 2 stagea (but do fit series 1 stagea, and non-turbo R33, and others). Now I need these sold to get my R34 GTT calipers and rotors. $300 firm! (inc rotors, calipers, pads, pins, clips) ... JIS are slogging $650 for the same setup. PM me with interests or SMS 0449 928 227
