+1 Some of the bike forums I frequent have 100 posts required.

True. Years ago I swapped the engines over in my 200B from the L20 to an SR20DE. Just took it to the Sturt vehicle ID inspection station. It was when I fitted the supercharger to the SR20 that I had to go thru Regency for inspection of the conversion and brake upgrade etc. Its not that hard.

Yeah, what the guys are saying is that the police do monitor these forums. Now you're talking about plate swapping (which you know by now is illegal) and the cops can easily see you are a club member. As your club executives, we have to say to you that its illegal and that would look bad for the club. We are afterall trying to demonstrate to the police and Joe Public that we are responsible import owners. Nothing wrong with doing the conversion to turbo. Just swap the engines, and other suitable hardware (brakes etc) and then take the car thru Regency without the plate swapping. Plate swapping = very bad

Good on 'em +1 (waits for Melissa to flame me)

My Stagea is my daily. Driven to work and back every day ... and I love it. Owned a 33 too ... but preferred the Stag. I actually bought two of them, because I liked them so much Cooler, zorst and a good tune should see up to 150awkw ... enough to keep you happy and still useable as a daily. If you get tiptronic and its not done yet, get a shift kit fitted by MV Automatics, maybe have the solenoids replaced at the same time too, as they tend to go with age. As a daily auto, that'll keep you happy ... for a while. I ended up removing the tiptronic and fitting a AWD manual. 204awkw from a manual is more fun than 150awkw from an auto As Kidafa said, check out the Stagea forums, and good luck with your purchase.

That would be me Vu. Lukey, I'll be at Vilis this friday from 6.30-7.30pm ... then heading to Car Toys after that, if anyone wants to collect theirs then.

Thanks for the offers guys. I've been sorted out now. Thanks Abe

At least put something constructive in the post, while trying to get your post count up.

When I replaced my iPaq PDA, I wanted an iPhone ... but the price just wasn't right at the time. Two of the guys in the office have them, and they complain all the time about something wrong with them. I figured I'd just get a 'normal' (read: boring) phone for now ... altho my Nokia does have touch screen for easy use and internet access (3G) albeit slow.

I have a Nokia! Can I join in? Cam has an iPod ... is he closer to being special than I am?

And I'd like to officially tell you ... I prefer stirred, not shaken

No you're not the first Troy. Your membership had lapsed and I sent you a PM regarding this, and you replied in turn advising you would not be renewing. Given your membership had lapsed and you advised not renewing, I informed Andrew to remove your tag (along with some others who have not renewed yet). I don't see the problem Troy. Your departure has been discussed with Shane and Pete, and we will be in contact shortly to discuss your continued involvement/discussion at some level with the club, and welcome your returning to the club in the near future.

Cheap Track Day This Sunday At Tailem Bend (sa Only)!
RubyRS4 replied to archangel62's topic in South Australia
Good to hear. Keeping everyone happy, and keeping everyone safe are worlds apart. The most helpful guy I know at CAMS is Aaron and can be contacted at [email protected] if you have any queries on requirements/obligations/insurances for the day. Likewise, the man to talk to about track/drift/motorkhana in Tailem Bend is Adrian, and he can be contacted at [email protected] I recommend you contact these guys and get the full details on what is required. Even when you think you have all bases covered, its best to get more info. I did before our track day earlier this year, and was glad I did, as there can be conflicting info. Also, your planned sunday would have clashed with Round 3 of the Nissan Datsun Car Club SA motorkhana event held at the Monarto BigW location. Other info to consider, if not already known: A motorsport event will require between 2 and 8 officials depending on number of entrants etc. The Clerk of Course is the only official that needs to be licenced but he/she must have an Event Command licence. The permit fee for a single club event is $95 or $138 for a multiclub event. A club must be affiliated with CAMS to be issued with a permit. Tailem Bend can be hired for about $660 per day. It also comes down to if the event is a speed or non-speed event. Check the CAMS website for more info ... or contact CAMS for better clarification. -

Unfortunately I have a custom bellmouth dump pipe and its just awkward to get a spanner to it. I've always had to unbolt the cat, and remove the turbo from the exhaust manifold ... then separate the dump pipe from the turbo. Fortunately, I have braided lines for water and oil, which make the job a little easier. I'm also going to visit my brother this week (Coventry Fasteners) to get some extra long nuts for the dump pipe, to help make the job easier in future. However, I will try removing the dump pipe with the turbo just hanging off the manifold and lines still in place. I'll play it by ear on the weekend I suppose. If you're going to Gepps Cross to help out on the Saturday morning Andrew, I'll grab that gasket off you then?
-
On the topic of turbos ... where can I find a gasket between the exhaust manifold and turbo for my RB25 at short notice? I've had a leak in my dump pipe gasket for some time, and now want to replace it (that gasket I do have), but I'll need to remove the turbo completely to do it.

I'm running a Nismo lightened flywheel, Nismo 1200kg pressure plate, and Nismo Coppermix clutch plate. Cost me $300 used and then another $200 or so for ACS to machine the flywheel and pressure plate and check it all over. Its great to use, even as a daily. I've never stalled the Stagea with it. And its holding 204awkw without any problems.

Tell ya what. A few of us will be assisting skyline_freak_r33 this Saturday morning in the Gepps Cross area. If you want to join us, I can look at your car then, and maybe even be able to fix it there and then. I've got the tools needed for the job too. Just bring some beers to keep us happy, and we'll make a party of it. If it needs something more than a quick fix (ie removal, rewelding, and bolting in place) then we'll talk the "chuck us $50-100" then. Unfortunately I'd need to eyeball the problem to see if welding is the solution. As Dale pointed out, pop rivetting it in place should work.

Feedback On Your Turbo Upgrades
RubyRS4 replied to chef_stagea's topic in Four Door Family & Wagoneers
Adam, a HKS 2530 would be just what you're looking for IMO. Very responsive and about 180 awkw @ 10psi with more boost to wind into it, with your kind of mods. I've got 204awkw coming out of mine with 11psi (manual trans) ... about to wind it up to 16psi when I get it on the dyno soon with an aim for (hopefully) the 240awkw mark. Just in time for the Time Attack next month -
Sau-sa Club Shirts Collection At Vilis Tonight
RubyRS4 replied to SAU-SA Exec's topic in South Australia
Beat me to the punch. To all members awaiting their club shirts, I have them with me. I live in the Regency Park area and work in the Eastwood area. I will be at Vilis again this Friday night, but if you want your club shirts earlier, feel free to PM me to arrange an alternative meeting for collection. -
+1 I'd be keeping a baseball bat handy.

As long as he lines up the crank and each cam to their TDC timing marks before re-assembly, all should be good. Note: this means before re-assembly, or if you only TDC the crank only first, you may bend valves. So make sure you do both (crank and cams) before re-assembly.

I have a welder and can weld it for you. Surely the assembly can be removed/unbolted? If the whole assembly is spot welded in to the firewall, I would recommend removing the whole assembly, then weld it onto a plate, that can be drilled and bolted back in for fitment. Got pics of the problem?
