  1. Got a pleasant phone call this morning ... I had some idiot road worker challenge me to a fight yesterday morning on the way to work. I pulled out onto a main road leading into the city (Port Road) and road workers had closed 2 of the 3 lanes down, creating absolute havoc with morning peak hour traffic. One driver let me pull out of the side street, but the cars were barely moving. I know at one stage I shook my head at the stupidity it all. I moved about 30m from the point where I pulled out onto the main road. I recalled as I pulled out, there was a worker with the stop/slow sign there. Well I notice this guy walking up to my car (he walked 25m or so to get to me). When he gets near my car, he just stands there with the same posture a 'bouncer' at a nightclub would and from the corner of my eye I see he's just staring at me. When I look at him, he mouths off something to me. I wind down my window and ask what he said, and he says "what are you f**king shaking you head at for mate?" quite aggressively. Now this guy is a typical bogan, so he's really acting tough in front of his work mates. And the conversation went something like: Him: "What are you f**king shaking your head at for mate?" Me: "I thought that would be obvious" Him: "You got a f**king problem mate?" Me: "I think everyone here has a problem with the fact you guys have strangled 3 lanes of peak traffic into the city." Him: "Mate, I've been here since f**king 5 yesterday working my ass off." Me: "What? Holding a 'stop' sign? You've had 15 hours to finish this work, and you've failed to finish before peak traffic, and now we have to suffer for it." [At this point he steps back from the car] Him: "C'mon then, get out. Lets go!" Me: "You really don't want me to, trust me." Him: "f**king coward!" Me: "Yeah well, at least I'll be at work soon and I'll get MY jobs done properly, and not be a f**king idiot about it." Him: "f**king smash ya!" Me: "You obviously don't like your job. I'll make a few phone calls when I get to work and fix that up for you." Him: "You're a f**king c*nt." Me: "And you guys are f**king idiots for not doing your job properly." Got to work and reported the incident to 3 departments/businesses involved (including the private company the guy works for). I work in the development and infrastructure industry, so its not too hard to speak to who I need to speak to. Got a phone call later that morning, before my meetings, from a company rep apologising for the incident and they will speak with the person involved. Was funny because the rep said she was sorry if I felt threatened or scared. To which my reply was "I can certainly handle a guy like that. I could have gotten out of my car and thumped the idiot, but then I'd stoop to his level. Figured you guys can teach him the lesson for me." I'm sure I wasn't the first to shake my head that morning, or the last. I was in the Stagea, so I'm certain the Commodore-loving-bogan singled me out because of my "jap crap". Then stood there and put on a show with the attitude, hoping to manipulate me, and look tough in front of his mates. Well, I don't get manipulated. And because I didn't get out my car, doesn't mean I'm a coward. I just don't want to spend time in court for teaching a foul-mouth feral some manners. Well got the phone call this morning from the supervisor apologising for the incident and informing me that the employee has been sacked.
  2. I should be there tonight with the lovely lady. I've also got some club shirts to still hand out. Will PM those people today.
  3. Might hit you up in the next month or two for some softer spring rates soon Ryan.
  4. Have the good people at HPI or Zoom done a story like this? Wouldn't mind reading it
  5. Tested against my GPS ... my speedo is spot on 17" BBS rs-r rims ... 235/45 rubber
  6. Last night finished fitting new tie rod ends to the Stagea. This morning had a full wheel alignment done. Saturday the Stag gets a brake upgrade ... Sumitomo 4 pot calipers and 297mm rotors ... Lucas pads
  7. Have you thought about contacting Ryan from ISC Performance. He sells the N1 coilovers and they're noice for the price. He's also a club sponsor with 10% discount ... just show your membership card. And he's local, so he's quick with service and answering you questions. I've had a set of these coilovers on my Stag for over 18 months now and no complaints. http://www.isc-warehouse.com/index.php?mai...ff5534bfc0b60be
  8. While we're talking tyres, who wants to spot me $240 so I can get some replacement tyres for the AWDTC Time Attack next month? Doing my brake upgrade, paying the mortgage, and on one income is slowly killing me
  9. Like a 200B with an SR20DE conversion and a SC14 supercharger boosting it?
  10. Fitted new tie rod ends today. Sized up the Sumitomo 4 pot calipers in preparation for fitting them and bigger rotors this weekend.
  11. Yeah saw that.
  12. Thanks for pointing that out Simon 10% discount at selected stores for club members. Only $30 plus once off $15 admin charge ($45 total) means you'll get lots of discounts throughout the year which will more than cover your membership fee paid.
  13. Pop rivets rock yo!
  14. Well thats what I was saving my Long Service Leave up for. So I could take time off work (paid) and use a combination of time off and LSL paid out, to finance having a baby. Unfortunately, thats not happening for us. Tried IVF and it just so expensive. With the wedding coming up and Tracy not being paid for working those 6 weeks ... I've given up on the baby thing now. I'll be using my LSL now to go to the IOMTT next year. 17 weeks worth of paid time off ... woohoo! Got a Staff Review meeting with the bosses this week. Will be asking for a bigger bonus and/or part payout on the LSL so we can get back on our feet quicker.
  15. Yeah the last 6 weeks have been BS as far as finances are concerned. How the fark does TAFE expect people to work for free for 6 weeks? Tracy works in the Rodgerson Theatres (Emergency Dept).
  16. Today might be Tracy's last day of placement at Flinders Medical Centre! She's been doing placement (work experience) for the final stage of her Nursing qualifications ... which means she doesn't get paid for 6 weeks! Now she can work at WCH again and get paid for it. My income has been paying for everything for the past 6 weeks! Now I can start saving up for shit again. The house extension and Tracy not working has been killing us.
  17. Whats it rated to carry (what can your rear springs handle)? I got about 4 pallets worth of red bricks to pick up from a property in Aldgate. Numerous trips involved I know, but the bigger each load the better (less trips).
  18. Speaking of trailers ... anyone have a double axle trailer (8X5 perhaps?) which I can borrow to pick up some used red bricks next weekend?
  19. Started fitting Series 2 R33 rotors and calipers to the Stagea today. from 16mm thick to 18mm thick and Sumitomo twin piston calipers replacing the 1 pot calipers. Used pads in it for now until I order some QFM this week. Finishing off the install and bleeding tomorrow. Then next weekend fitting 297mm rotors and 4 piston Sumitomo calipers ... and ordering some QFM pads up front too. All purchased (not inc QFM pads) for under $150 (and some labour).
  20. Sorted. Thanks to those who offered.
  21. Its been nearly 10 hours ... where are the pics? Betcha he hasn't stopped driving it to take pics
  22. All sorted out now thanks. Thanks to those who offered
  23. No probs Most bits are off, just the rear hubs next. Thanks for picking up my extension cord too. Got into a bit of a panic about that ... kicking myself for being in a rush to leave
  24. You could always ask Matty nicely as he's a handy bloke with a car trailer. And +1 for Cooks. They're good and cheap.
  25. Thats cool. I can pick it up from your letterbox tomorrow. I'll be home most of the day, but will be shooting out about lunchtime. Yeah, I was in a bit of a rush to make sure I got Tracy to work on time, that I left in a hurry. Drove past earlier and had a look from the Cavan Road end of the yard, but its obviously been nicked or taken in upon lockup. I'll chase it up first thing tomorrow.
