Yep ... very well run event. First time out in the Stagea and I've pulled a PB of 1m32.2s in the Stagea on street tyres. Ended up running consistent 1m33s most of the day, awd power sliding around the circuit, so the limiting factor is not the driver Going to sort out the misfire and get better tyres and hope to get into the 1m30s. Finished 7 seconds behind WRXs with semi-slicks I was 8th in the modified class before this event. With my result of 12th in the class (32nd overall out of 36), I hope not to be bumped down the ladder too much Damn fat-ass stageas!

Okay, so at this stage I'm thinking Sunday 15th August early in the morning for a hills cruise ('cruise' not 'race') Meet point will be near the city, for a central meet. Cruise will head out toward the east, then back to the near city suburbs. Expect about a 180km round trip or 2 hours travel time (not inc standing and chatting), so write off your morning agenda. I will start a new thread this week for the cruise on Sunday 15th August.

Fitted new tie rods to the Stagea. Also got my R34 brakes at the last minute and fitted them Saturday morning, in time for .... Threw the Stagea into a Time Attack at Mallala yesterday. Was fun indeed Had a problem with misfire at 4,500-5,000 rpm making for early gear changes, ended up being the car running really rich and fouling plugs (from what I can gather). 1m33s consistently! ... on street tyres when everyone else was on semis. Had some awesome AWD power slides which entertained some SAU peeps who came for a look Apart from running rich, the Stag ran excellent all day. Didn't overheat thanks to the 52mm radiator. Brakes didn't go to the floor. Just need to sort out the misfire and tyres.

URGENT: Anyone got a 0.9kg or bigger fire extinguisher and mount that I can borrow for tomorrow's time attack at Mallala. Would need to pick it up tonight. SMS me on 0449 928 227. Thanks I'm going to duck down to the BP or wherever now to see if they have one.

Not having a good day. Picked up some glass panel french doors for my house extension. Didn't hitch the trailer properly and had the trailer run into the back of the Stagea, banging up the bumper and damaging the Dolphin lip, and ripping the wiring from the plug. On a brighter note, fitted new brakes and tie rods on the Stagea today.

Do you think a black volvo will inspire you? Heading outside now to do some more work on getting the Stagea ready. Calipers finally arrived ... so I might have that brake upgrade sorted afterall.

Kudos to Jap Import Spares Picked up genuine tie rod end for S2 Stagea or R34 GTR for $95 each. Another place wanted $175 second hand!!! Now I gotta rip the tie rods and brakes out tomorrow and fit the tie rods and R34 GTT brakes ... in time for the Time Attack on sunday.
