  2. I was actually about to order an 86 on salary sacrifice but decided to buy a V35 instead privately But I cant see myself Locked into a car for 4 years, Plus the depreciation so if your get stuck and need to sell it your are way behind on cash Plates I got like 5 years ago as a joke as It was on my beater drift CA 180sx with unpainted bodykit... Had them so long now cant get rid of them. Even though the red doesn't suit they are beaten up, scrap marks from Oran park (RIP) I'm somewhat emotionally attached to them as gay as it is Its not that I have lots of time, just a hour here or there and doing lots of little jobs, They will dry up soon though as Ive run out of most of those. Exterior is pretty much done besides getting a skirt resprayed (as someone took the protective sticker off and a lot of paint with it ) Something I did yesterday I was going to order new door grips as mine were all scratched up. Thought I might have a go at restoring them as worse case I'll but a new pair anyway. Before Sanded with 400, 2 coats plastic prime, 3 coats random silver (close to exterior colour) had in the garage, 2 coats clear. Its different to the other silver a fair bit, but will do for now till I get a bunch of stuff from the US
  3. Got my rear gaurds rolled this morning by PhilB Also my overly shiny wheel nuts rocked up 25mm spacer on the back now on too Effectively 19x9.5+15 on front and 19x10.5+12 on the rear Camber 1.5 deg front, 2.5 rear on stock arms
  4. "itasha" car big in japan where they decorate cars with anime Least the guy has some taste with evangelion
  5. My current set up is a 04 350GT with Bose and NAV system. The previous owner has somehow put a AXIS DVD player in the cubby that I assume the stock nav unit sits ( the stock nav unit is tucked up under the dash. This has USB/ DVD and Is rigged up to the Aux in on the screen. It works fine when stopped so I can use the remote to look at the track folders on the USB which works fine. But as soon as I start moving the speed sensor and handbrake earth cut out just the video feed. I tried following this walk through to no avail http://www.coderetard.com/2008/05/08/how-to-bypass-video-on-a-2008-g35/ Also looked up the service manual which says the speed wire should be white with a green strip, but I was unable to find a wire that colour on either the radio or the Nav unit. I want to get this sorted especially since I wasted a few hours and manged to put a giant scratch in the middle of my radio on the gear knob and didnt even achieve anything so massively annoyed atm Searched heaps but fund nothing else. Anyone done this ?
  6. Get out....... As bad as the shit you see on a falcodore as there "sports" pack
  7. I've run spacers on my street and track cars for the last 4 years with no issues. It will unlikely void your insurance unless it was a contributing factor to the accident ... ie if your wheel cheers off the studs doubt you will be covered but if you get ran up the back of I highly doubt it will
  8. Just did my first full tank 500 and it was a smidge above the empty mark But I was not shy with the accelerator either. I didn't buy the car for economy but definitely happy with that
  9. Spacers rocked up 15mm hubcentric on the front to replace the floating 5mm And a 25mm bolt on for the rear, but need to wait till guards get rolled and extended wheel nuts rock up before I can put the rear ones on. So hopefully next week. No spacer side Spacers Effective 9.5+15 and 10.5+12 I was also tempted by a pair of 19x11-12 Equips.. saw a car on rim tuck rocking the same specs, thought it might work Then after punching it in the offset calculator figured out it was exactly 55mm further out then current specs. But with both a 30 and 25mm together it showed that it wasnt going to happen anywhere near my current height and camber
  10. hmmm Well I think my 14 has always had the noise with the clutch in But i think the 35 has the same issue with slight noise that goes away with the clutch in, didnt think it was major issue
  11. clutch thrust bearing ? No issue just annoying
  12. Sweet thanks Current setup is the similar, 275/30/19 on a 10.5 which is what I bought the car with Thinking about whether to go up to 20's or stay 19s for the next set... But knowing me I'll go 11's
  13. changes the shape but not the area apparently
  14. Lsd does stop it single pegging out of the corner so you can get on the power earlier Probably the best mod I did on my old n.a. s13
  15. the internal diamiter of the rim has no impact on the contact area area if the correct profile tyre is on But the smaller profile (ala 25 profile on a R20) will have a adverse affect as it is less compliant so the suspension has to do more work to keep contact... In no situation when your running a tinyt profile will a 20 have more traction than a 19.. Why do you think drag cars have huge profile tyres. But too high and there is adverse lateral handling effects due to sidewall flex. Its about a blalance, But for a V chassis in no way is a 20in tyre with 25 profile going to be better than the same in a 19 with more sidewall on a V chassis IMO Idealy im guessing a 18in wheel with a 45 profile (or 40 is its like a 265 to keep a similar rolling diamiter as the profile is a percentage of the width) would be optimal for a V35
  16. think so Plastic one, fits pretty much perfect and way better than a fiberglass one Also done Lowered the front a CM Alined, 1.5 deg camber on front, 2.5 at rear, 1 mm toe so not too bad for the stock arms so I can hold off ordering adjustable stuff Chucked a Nismo leather gear knob on as the stocker was a lil thrashed Ordered some fancy looking open ended wheels nuts Replaced one of the front extended studs that had munched thread halfway down Found out there was a 5 mm slip on the front, so ordered a 15mm hubcentreic slip-on to be a lil less dodgy and bring the front out 1cm. Got a 25mm bolt on for the rear too So once PhillB comes round to do they guards they will be going on
  17. did mine a few days ago z445 (alot of brands use this number or can be easily cross referenced from it) Same as 350z, s14/15 and R34 from memory
  18. Sold tail lights roof spoiler and clear indicators Still have the rest
  19. JDM Obsession do slotted RDA rotors for a good price Can change rotors with a basic spanner set -take off wheel -undo 2 bolts holding caliper on -slip off old rotor -hit new rotor with brake cleaner then slip on -caliper back on - wheel back on
  20. Got the car detailsed on sunday... so of course it rained the last few days Also lowered the car a cm at the rear, but sad to find out I only have another cm and half to go and it will be max low
  21. Did a fair bit of stuff today ... took some pics as well as its dull in this thread Yesterday changed the rego over and put my plates on it. Ordered a OEM style badgeless grill from 'merica Today did a bit of maintenance/tidy up /automotive archeology Basic oil change to start This was wrapped up in bubble wrap with some doge wiring. Looks like it was to convert the parkers to indicators. but not sure. Ripped it out anyway Not sure if stock plenum? Did what you do to any new neatish car... tore it apart  The reason why was the headlight looked like this with the usual oxidation/ cloudiness So wanted to do a headlight resto but didn't trust myself doing it on the car, but have to take half the front end off to get the lights out. Anyway this the after. Not perfect, still some scratches/ light cracks ion inside but still way better Also found out that the indicators that were super dark werent sprayed just covered in 2 layers of vinyl tint. SDo ripped it off Before and after The car had these big trim clips in the front bar when I bought it That were just filling these massive holes which I assume was for the JDM plate holder So bought some more flush plugs and gave them a hit of random silver, not perfect but a lot neater Any idea if there is ment to be a cover for the hole under the number plate for the tow hook? Another little thing was debadge the rest of the rear (only had the 350gt badge but was painted black) And trim the rear JDM plate holder. to get rid of this overhang I was defiantly right that this car had some decent money spent on it a few years ago Full stainless system with decat after the stock extractors, Tanabe Pro spec coilovers Wheels were a lil wider than I thought I'm not used to getting nice surprises with cars  Also It looks like it has an LSD It was riding low at some stage as there are a few scrape marks underneath Anyway so its a little bit neater after it was probably neglected a bit bar the the girls brother in law being a mechanic and servicing it. But no wonder there was a bag 1/2 full of stripped rays nuts in the boot. they were torqued up way to tight. I had to stand on a 30cm breaker bar to crack them. So need new wheel nuts as there is about 3 different ones on the car. But it has long studs on the front so need open ended, but dont like alloy need to be steel. Any options besides your basic $1 specials?
  22. Really ? Someone said that if the chassis code has a D for the 17th letter it has a vlsd but if a dash it's open Haven't jacked it up to check though Pretty much the plan, the exhaust looks from the extractor s back but again not 100% going to see if I can fit a varex or atheist a mid muffler without hacking up the exhaust too much South west Sydney
  23. Short term plan is quite it down asap. Wind down the coilovers after double demerits and a detail Next plenum spacer and z intake tube and late model air box Eventually change the wheel and maybe a Z33 vlsd if it goes in without too much hassle or a quaife centre Yeah was on car sales both me and mate when over it ... hopefully it won't give me too many issues Already have enough with my 14
