  1. Thats a tough call to make ?
  2. sigh, i left that part of the ebc install to the tuner thinking they know better than i do >.< i havent played around with the ebc settings coz if i manage to get it to run 1.2bar to redline im sure it will lean out.. will pod filters help my case or is it mainly an ebc/solenoid position issue? im running the standard actuators that come with the turbos when you buy them off garrett, ill have some pictures up tonight thanks for all the input so far guys, ill search up for some diagrams of ebc setups that have been proven to work
  3. Hello all, Got my gtr tuned 2 days ago but i noticed that its actually very rarily running 1.2bar which i asked the tuner to set it to. It initially hits 1.2bar, car makes a maximum of 275kw at 4800rpm which suprised me but then plataues off and bleeds off down to 1.0bar. I was expecting max power at around 6000rpm? Im sure if i got the boost to hold at 1.2bar it should make 300kw at 6000rpm. Anywho, its running a pfc, profec b spec 2, -7 turbos, stock airbox with k&n panel filter, stock afms, stock injectors, tomei pumps and full 3.5" exhaust, rest is stock standard. My injectors dont seem to be going over 94% atm but i do realise that if i am holding 1.2bar till redline i will need an injector upgrade to be on the safe side of things but i want to know what the best way of going about the boost control problem? Will a pair of twin pods help or is my ebc just not setup correctly? im hoping my ebc can do the job if its setup differently.. the solenoid is currently in the spot where the stock solenoid used to be. thanks in advance
  4. your first problem is your over heating, get that sorted first, your oil can start to "steam up" if the engine is over heating, your oil temp is typically a few degress higher than the coolant temp soo.. 100 degrees oil temp u will get white smoke comming out the oil cap, even if its just a little i really dont get how u can get a car running on 0 deg timing, that doesnt make sense forged motors can naturally fume up abit from the oil cap, very very little though, especially when being run in, do a comp test if your worried that your engine hasnt been built correctly / rings failed prematurely
  5. im almost in the same boat as u man except i got -7's on my r33 gtr, got it tuned yesterday, managed to get 275kw at 1.2bar but it bleeds off to 1 bar by redline arghhh, injectors are almost hitting 100% aswell im trying to find out the most cheapest way to solve the boost issue though, im running a profec b spec 2
  6. as iii thought thanks syfon, which dpi do you work at btw? no stamp duty sounds damn fine to me!!
  7. oh please show me, i want to lol
  8. pretty sure ive sold AND bought more than 3 too hahaha
  9. ive sold more than 3 cars in 1 year, nothings happened to me :S its just some myth ppl throw around to each other obviously started to reduce the amount of "backyard dealing" going on just make sure that they cant prove that your making a taxable amount of profit via buying/selling/dealing cars, thats basically the principle you should be following, not a set number of cars "im a fussy guy, im just trying to find the perfect car for me, ill keep buying and selling until i find the right car, nothing wrong with that?" is all you gotta say
  10. Hello all, I thought i would make a thread to keep a record of my car and the mods as i go and to also expose the car to It is a..... Midnight Purple 1995 R33 GTR V-Spec I bought the car over from Adelaide back in june-july 2009 and then sold it to a friend in november, but then bought it back off him 2 months ago as he couldnt afford to fix the hail damage that it inflicted the car nor his repayments on his loan... soo i couldnt resist his offer when he asked me if i wanted it back specs/mods as follows Engine: Unopened RB26DETT Twin Garrett GT2860R-7 ball bearing turbo’s TOMEI s/s dump pipes Do-Luck 3.5-inch s/s exhaust from dump pipes all the way to the rear. 15. sounds like a valve isnt seating properly, can be due to many reasons get the head checked out properly, valve seats, valves, the lot, esp on that cyl

  20. haha yeah i was referring to 100% biodiesel from the start but thanks for extending my knowledge abit further on the b20 mixture, i can see how it can actually have better lubrication over normal diesel, but im not game enough to comment any futher on mixtures ive never seen used before your paper was a good read though, thanks for sharing edit: if your test was actually on 100% biodiesel, and you ran the engine for alot longer, id love to see the results of that!
  21. you cant remove an o2 sensor with a normal socket, just use a stubby spanner, i cant remember what the size of it is, they are usually rusty so just be careful but firm.
  22. Your "study" is inadequate for your argument. Sure, you have proved that by using a 20% biodiesel and 80% normal diesel mixture, that the engine didnt cook or loose performance, but this has never occured in a matter of 10 hours anyway. Im talking about 100% biodiesel. Im talking about 20,000kms + of use. Your study did not go this far so you cannot tell me as a conclusion that, biodiesel is great rah rah rah. In day to day use, you can never control the quality of fuel that your getting from servos anyway so it makes it hard to argue for and against. We have also seen plenty of people ruin their fuel pumps due to water contaminated diesel. As i said earlier, we have pulled apart fuel pumps that have run biodiesel for extended periods of time and have found unique wear and tear characteristics. You can go on and on about lubrication, but there is obviously something thats working against the OEM demands of the fuel. I may not be able to explain my self with evidence as i havent put hours of research into it, im not a diesel technician, nor am i an engineer. However i have seen the results of extended use of biodiesel with my own eyes, my dad and his technicians dont bag it out to their customers for shits and giggles, and certainly not for any personal gain as it actually results in the opposite. I will try my best to take pictures of examples when we get another biodiesel customer lol. I actually still have a set of nozzles that were removed from a land cruiser that was running biodiesel, there was obvious signs of overheating, i will take some pictures of this soon
