  1. Life of Brian................
  2. I wouldn't know mate, I haven't studied law or religion!
  3. Agreed, creates more trouble than its worth
  4. I have had a good read of all of this The thing that stands out by far any away as the thing that pisses me off the most is using religion to exploit the law If you live in Australia, the law MUST come first If a muslim women is suspected of carrying drugs under her head dress, the copper shold be able to say, "sorry love, but thats coming off right now because off.......... reason" Full stop. Same if the suspect a Hindu person or whatever. If a bogan was suspected of having some weed stashed under his VB cap, it would be coming off straight away! Now I am not sure if this is in fact law, but here is where the problem lies and to a greater extent where the anti-muslim sentiment come from in my opinion The religion is used to hinder the legal process When that occurs, of course there will be anti (enter religon here) sentiments. You only have to look at what happend in Redfern to realise that once the problem escaltates, there is allot of hatred under the surface!
  5. Will do mate, should be fine Goes into Shauns on Wednesday Funny, almost 4 years to the day the last one went in!
  6. Well, spoke to soon! My clutch is now due for repalcement, its starting to slip after about 4k rpm Not bad, almost 4 years to the day since it went it, and close to 90,000kms of city driving Getting another one
  7. I have had my Extreme clutch for 4 years this January! The differance with mine, I got a cromoly flywheel machined up and installed with it. I am sure this is the differance, as its lasted almost 100,000kms so far, and still feels pretty good! I was told when I got it, from a very reliable source (former owner of RPM here in SA), that the standard flywheels are not up to scratch for use with a ceramic type clutch. At the time, I thought it was bullshit to get another $350 out of me, but now I believe him. Being new, it was completley flat and true, giving the clutch its best chance of surviving. Been through at least a dozen sets of tyres, including a set of semi's, 2 drag meets, 3 track days. Will be getting another when mine wears out
  8. Well looks like my LSD has finally worn out! Not bad, considering it was second hand to start with, and has done about 50k on my car The left hand wheel starts to light up if I give it a bit in 2nd,3rd or 4th, so it suggets to me that its worn out. Whats a rebuild on one of these worth? Its a ATS brand Cheers, Chris
  9. PCV valve take off on RB25 is built into the side of the cover, on RB20, its part of the hose attachment at the top, other than that I am pretty sure they can be swapped. I have seen a RB26 with RB20 covers on it once! Are they my spiderwebs on the covers Joel, or fresh ones
  10. Saw a nice F40 down Vic Sq at lunch, looked fantastic!
  11. Your in Adelaide, so call All Clutch and Brake Service, they are down near St Marys. Mine was a bout $65 brand new
  12. Sounds like a leaking gaskets on the exhaust side, perhaps the exhaust manifold/head or turbo/exhaust manifold. Might have a few snapped studs on the exhaust manifold, its quite common
  13. small file and 5 mins had mine fitting no probs
  14. No idea mate, still downloading the big one at the moment If anyone can shed some light on this please do!
  15. A mate emailed me the link to these, great clips 190 odd MB http://www.clutchfcukers.com/videos/R31.Ph...p.DivX-KERO.avi Preview 5mb http://www.clutchfcukers.com/videos/R31.Ph...p.DivX-KERO.avi Thought everyone would like to see these Chris
  16. had the same issue with mine, my clutch master cylinder was rooted You can top up the fluid and bleed it, and it will last about two weeks before topping up again

    Clutch

Not sure if its of much help but I remember seeing AP Racing stuff at that motorsport place on Magill Rd up near Norwood. They might be able to put you onto someone who does Adelaide Clutch Service would have to know also I reckon
  18. RIP Brocky I feel sick in the guts Awesome driver, will be missed
  19. 2510 - similar lag to R33 turbo, with the ability to run big boost = more torque
  20. Found this on the net, quite interesting re Top Fuel stuff One dragster's 500-inch Hemi makes more horsepower then the first 8 rows at Daytona. Under full throttle, a dragster engine consumes 1 1/2 gallons of nitro per second, the same rate of fuel consumption as a fully loaded 747, but with 4times the energy volume. The supercharger takes more power to drive then a stock hemi makes. Even with nearly 3000 CFM of air being rammed in by the supercharger on overdrive, the fuel mixture is compressed into nearly-solid form before ignition. Cylinders run on the verge of hydraulic lock. Dual magnetos apply 44 amps to each spark plug. This is the output of an arc welder in each cylinder. At stoichiometric (exact) 1.7:1 air/fuel mixture (for nitro), the flame front of nitro methane measures 7050 degrees F. Nitro methane burns yellow. The spectacular white flame seen above the stacks at night is raw burning hydrogen, dissociated from atmospheric water vapor by the searing exhaust gases. Spark plug electrodes are totally consumed during a pass. After 1/2 way, the engine is dieseling from compression plus the glow of exhaust valves at1400 degrees F. The engine can only be shut down by cutting off it's fuel flow. If spark momentarily fails early in the run, unburned nitro builds up in those cylinders and then explodes with a force that can blow cylinder heads off the block in pieces or blow the block in half. Dragsters twist the crank (torsionally) so far (20 degrees in the big end of the track) that sometimes cam lobes are ground offset from front to rear to re-phase the valve timing somewhere closer to synchronization with the pistons. To exceed 300mph in 4.5 seconds dragsters must accelerate at an average of over 4G's. But in reaching 200 mph well before 1/2 track, launch acceleration is closer to 8G's. If all the equipment is paid off, the crew worked for free, and for once NOTHING BLOWS UP, each run costs $1000.00 per second. Dragsters reach over 300 miles per hour before you have read this sentence. * Top Fuel Engines ONLY turn 540 revolutions from light to light! The redline is actually quite high at 9500rpm. To give you an idea of this acceleration, the current TF dragster elapsed time record is 4.477 seconds for the quarter mile. This means that you could be coming across the starting line in your average Lingenfelter powered "twin-turbo" Corvette at 200 mph (on a FLYING START) and the dragster would BEAT you to the finish line FROM A DEAD STOP in a quarter mile distance!
  21. I stopped buying HPI every issue as soon as Drift Battle came out. Between HPI, Zoom and Drift Battle, its all spread way too thin I haven't bought HPI for over a year now, have a flick through at the newsagent but thats about it Went downhill a little as soon as it went monthly, then slid further as soon as Drift Battle came out. Still some ok stuff in there but its all a bit boring now
  22. so what do you have to do? Fill out the form and send it off? I used to race downhill a few years ago, so I'd like to support this
  23. from memory AED did the work on Munro's drag car, that went pretty well. Longevity wise though, its hard to judge a drag car versus a everyday car. From memory they also did Doug Dinan's R33 GTR motor, but I think they died a premature death. Not sure what the cause was, I think it was a rod or something like that. I think that went through a few engines, maybe Murno might even own that one now too?
  24. A few guys are turbo'ing RB25DE's these days. Most of them though seem to be swaps for RB20 powered cars though - Cefiro/R32 At a minimum, I'd say you'd be up for a thicker head gasket to drop compression to a boost freindly level, turbo and turbo exhaust manifold (not sure if the RB25DET manifold bolts up, I think it does, considering everyone uses the RB25DE head for RB30DET buildups) and some bigger fuel injectors, plus intercooler and pipework. There's a probably $4000 odd here Add to that a programmable ECU, upgraded turbo brakes, LSD (if yours doesn't have one already) There's another $3000 odd Is yours Auto? If so I think some guys are running PowerFc's in there Auto R33's, there would be a thread going if its been done before somewhere. If its Auto, then there is another $2000 to swap it to manual, or say at least $1000 getting the auto beefed up Then there are the legal issues, ie Regency Inspection due to the turbo installation........... So at a lazy guess, there is almost 10k worth of rooting about to do it properly. You could probably sell your car and buy a turbo R34 for cheaper, and it comes with all the good gear to start with But, if you want to head down this way, have a chat to Shaun at Boostworx and see what he reckons is the best way to go about it, I am sure he would be o some help Hope this points you in the right direction, Chris
