  1. Great cruise. Best was through the twisties on the way back for Stage 1. Did Stage 2 go through that route as well? Nah mate nismo twinplate super coppermix. Why do you ask? Nah, were a few in Apollo Bay and Geelong, but we were driving normally so it was fine. Haha yeah, very surprised that boat could keep up. Was hearing radio chatter about it.
  2. Yeah saw the car yesterday at GOR. Thought you weren't gonna come then a Nur rocks up at Apollo Bay and I was like WTF?
  3. Nice pics rh1no. Thankfully the weather held up. The sun was always in the least convenient position, so sorry for the poor lighting. Here's what I got: http://s384.photobucket.com/albums/oo281/m...20GOR%20Cruise/
  4. While on the GOR cruise, saw random White R34 GT-T at Colac driven by chick, and at around 7pm on Westbound Kororoit Ck Rd 2 white R33 GTS?Ts, one stock and one with black CF bonnet. Also saw this beauty on the way to GOR
  5. Bastards. Did he have alarm/immobiliser/insurance?

    New Newb!

Make sure you get your CAMS LS2 licence
  7. Nice 86. Just need to paint it panda-spec and get bigger black rims and you're set Don't take this the wrong way, you're more than welcome to join the forum of course, but just wondering, why Skylines Australia????
  8. Hey thanks for the tip. How did you find out that it was the clutch fan? Not sure what it's mean to sound like.
  9. LOL Check out my 40 inch rims! I like this quote the best: "While the Patent Motorwagen used a 958cc four-stroke petrol engine generating 600W of power-less than a hairdryer-the newer version doubles that, generating 1.2kW from the rear-mounted fuel cell that drives the Roadster's electric motor." My what 150 years of technology has done. A carriage pulled by two horses has more power.... technically...

    About Victoria

I still get confused, but I think in Australia we call 100 kph or 110 kph country roads "freeways" and the "highways" here are usually 70 or 80 kph. These are reflected in the name eg., Eastern Fwy 100pkh, Burwood Hwy 70kph. What's confusing is that some freeways also have highway in the name in other places eg., Princes Hwy/Fwy. Basically speed limits are well signed. No sign = 50 kph. Also watch out for tollroads eg., Citylink.
  11. If you are after REALLY cheap suits, go to any of the dodgy Viet places in F'scray. You'd only be able to wear the suits about twice before they fall apart. They have boxed suit, tie and shirt sets for around $30 ROFL.
  12. OK thanks guys. Yeah, I can totally understand... acceleration in a higher gear does labour the engine. Hmmm... I don't think the O2 sensors are dead. The O2 voltages do respond immediately if I push the throttle. They are certainly not "stuck". Neither do they swing though... Will have to ask my mechanic re this. Guess it's time to go to another mechanic.

    About Victoria

Hi Alvin, welcome to SAU and Victoria. Firstly, RWC will be needed as all R32s are secondhand. If you're buying from a car dealer he organises this automatically. If you are buying privately the seller usually makes this happen - just make sure he shows you the RWC. Usually a RWC needs to be done by the seller within 30 days of selling the car, so some usually wait until you place a deposit down. Obviously, it wastes his money to get monthly RWCs if it takes a long time to sell. If you have a full Singaporean licence (which is, I'm assuming, in English), you are allowed to register and insure a car in your name and drive it around. If you get permanent residency, you have 3 months to convert this to an Australian licence before you are not allowed to drive. But if you're not planning on getting PR, don't worry about it. Registration rates are around the same for all cars -about $500-$600/year or so... can't remember the exact figure. Have fun and hope to see you at some stage in the future once you get the skyline. 300zx's are welcome here too
  14. Now that the R35 GTRs have been officially delivered, guess they belong in the "Spotted thread" rather than "Super-spotted" lol..
  15. You live in Toorak and drive a Stag? Just stirrin
  16. Wow cool. Nice going snowy. LOL.. good pick-up Lol not to mention the post-track day inspection service by Nissan which costs thousands of dollars and is compulsory to maintain warranty. (But seriously who would know). Yeah, Werribee Nissan is a GTR dealer. They won't let anyone test drive the GTR either, as all the stock has been pre-ordered and they would lose money on having a demo GTR.

    Got A New Car.

Nice one Matty. I met you at the Kamikaze SAUvic membership renewal. Good choice on the liberty. Practical and fast... sort of , My daily driver is going to be a hot wagon of some sort too. GTRs in stop-start traffic with modified clutches and poor fuel economy = getting tired of actually driving it. Totally agree. With the amount of money you saved on the liberty you should be able to afford the oil cooler and sump baffle for the R before the suspension/tire mods
  18. D'oh.... head unit not starting up?? I have a detachable face from my JVC head unit that I always remove when I park the car. Yesterday when I replaced it, the head unit failed to power on. The little red LED came on, showing that there was power going to the head unit, but it didn't do anything when I pressed on. I have had it for over a year with no troubles. It is sitting flush with the other side. Repeated many times but still nothing. Went back to the boot to check all the wires from the batteries and they seem fine. Any idea what's going on? The only thing that I can think of, is that recently the dash part of it seems to be a bit "floppy" - eg., when it does not return 100% to its original flush-with-the-dash position after you put a new disc in. The bottom border sticks out a bit. But still I had no probs until yesterday.... Thanks guys for any ideas....
  19. Wow, if only I had the time... and the skillz Pretty sure if the position is paid they need an SLR...
  20. F*CK! Bastards!
  21. LOL experience shines through... Seriously I can't believe how many photos pro photographers take, and then cull 99% of them and brush up the remainder in photoshop for hours. A lot more work to it than I expected. They have to have huge-ass multi-terabyte HDDs as well when each photo is like 30meg in RAW or >100meg in uncompressed TIFF.
  22. Huh? I didn't realise the cops can just take down your rego and send you a letter in the mail without actually pulling you over or you knowing about it until you get the letter??
  23. Oops.... thought this sounded too familiar to that case last year. Damn The Age and their belated reporting! The article was in today's online paper. Should have read it more closely. Apologies Mods please feel free to delete post.
  24. OK, maybe you are onto something here in the ADR, but 1. As Ash said, why/how on Earth would the lowest point of your car be in the middle? Unless you've got a 200L aftermarket supplementary fuel tank for those 24 hour races or something??? 2. Regardless of ADR, cops will still fine you. An example which comes to mind is the 10% inaccuracy leeway of manufacturerd speedos allowed in the ADR yet you get speeding fines for speeding over 5%, when your speedo could very well have read the proper speed limit. Go figure.
  25. http://www.theage.com.au/national/hey-dad-...90330-9h23.html Anyone see this? Would have hated to have been him when he tells his dad the news. Unauthorised P-plater writes off car = no insurance payout I guess. Ouch! What a way to lose $250k
