  1. OK, thermostat seems to be working. Engine temp in mid-range after few mins driving. When I'm cruising at 60kmh (2.4krpm in 4th), not on boost, on the PFC HC both O2 sensors read 0.04v rock steadily. What does this mean? Thanks.
  2. Oh man, the tuning bit is getting a bit technical for me... but I will get someone to check the O2 sensors while driving. I can answer the last Q - I am at just 2000rpm with 5th gear at 60kmh. 4th gear = 2.5 krpm. What's the best/most economical place to sit? I come on boost at around 3.5k Thanks.

I can understand people in stolen vehicles would try their best to not get caught. But why do people in their own cars try to escape? Their rego's recorded - the cops know where they live, and that they own the car. Doesn't make sense. They'll just end up with a bigger fine for reckless driving/speeding and lose their licence. Unless they had a body or drugs in the boot.
  4. Spotted about three R32 GTS-Ts on Vic Pde. LOL. You must be the only non-azn playing SF4 in Box Hill.
  5. No, the skyline name's dead and gone. Very much doubt they would make a non-GTR R35. If you want a lesser version of the R35 GTR, get a 370z.

Lol Hey mizzi, are we gonna see the Nur at the member GOR cruise?
  7. The stickers cost $70. Annual SAU-Vic membership, with all the nice discounts and access to members-only events is an added bonus
  8. 1130: Silver R34 GT on Whitehall Rd, Newport 1700: White R34 GT-T on Bourke St, CBD 1720: Blue R33 GTS-T with half-carbon hood and bodykit cnr Grattan and Royal Pde, Nth Melbourne. Looked very nice.
  9. LOL funny to see Vetti still driving around with 3 wheels. Was he trying to finish?
  10. Hmmm ok cool thanks for all the great info. What does surging actually feel like when driving? As for leaks, might try the spray water one first as I am not that technically minded and have neither a compressor nor airgun. Might have to end up at another mechanics later on sigh...

Really? People hardly notice my silver R34 GTR, even in Chinatown, where most people can appreciate imports. Guess the Millenium Jade works its magic
  12. Lots of lines today 1200: Dark grey R32 GT?R on Vic Pde 1700: Silver R33 GTS?T on Elizabeth St driven by blonde chick 1800: White R34 GT-T driven by asian guy with his GF on Russel St 1900: Black R33 GTS?T parked on Exhibition St. Driver looked Indian. 1930: Dark grey R32 on Whitehall Rd, Yarraville. None had SAU stickers
  13. Damn those chops! They're deadlier than I suspected!

LOL! Yes I hear those RB20s can be tuned to be half-decent. Who needs an N1 engine. And de-bodykit it. I think there's a book called 101 Ways to Devalue Your New Car. Just stirrin
  15. The biggest liars are the new car dealers. They are TRAINED to lie straight to your face and to get you to sign on the dotted line no matter what. I told you $25,000 over the phone? Yeah, thing is, there's unfortunately been a price increase. Straight from the head company, just got the memo. It's now $26,000. Sorry you had to drive an hour to get here. Yeah, we have heaps in stock. Paid the money? Oh, wait we sold out, next one's on a boat from Japan, will be here in 4 months. Signed the contract for this amount of money? Oh, sorry the price just went up $1000. What's that? You refuse to pay the price increase? It says it right here in section 4.5a of page 16 in size 6 font "The dealer at any time may increase the purchase price of the vehicle. The buyer is bound by the terms of the contract to pay this difference in price." No joke - happens all the time. Absolutely shits me. Had to twist his arm to write "Price protected" and sign his name on the contract. Bastards
  16. I have only heard good things about Icom, but they are expensive. I am sure they are better quality than FDC though. That said, the 460A seems quite solid in construction and is built on a metal frame, unlike some cheapo plastic ones. Disadvantages of the FD-460A are: 1. No supplier/distributor in Oz, so have to ship it back if it breaks down under warranty 2. Manual fails at English, although it's not that hard to figure it out 3. Car charger still needs desktop charging dock to be connected - can't plug directly into the radio unless you buy the battery replacement car adaptor, which means you have to change to your normal battery if you want to take it out of the car. 3. For some reason if you buy it with the 40 CB channels pre-programmed, you can't use CTCSS/DCS, unless you manually enter the frequency of that channel. 4. Antenna blows. As soon as I have time I'm going to Jaycar to get a replacement for a few bucks. I think it is an SMA-F port on the radio. However, these are all relatively minor considerations when you consider it costs $90 delivered to your door, compared to the RRP of $160 for a 3W Jaycar one or $300 for a 5W Dick Smith one. I could buy three FD-460As for the whole family with all accessories and it would still be cheaper.
  17. Really? So we can use handheld CB radios legally while driving? I thought all handhelds were illegal when driving????

Respraying your Nur white.... dude what a waste. That will drop the value 5k instantly. There's a reason Millenium Jade is unique
  19. Lol how often does that happen?
  20. Hmmm... any idea how I would find out if it's surging, or if there is a vacuum/intake leak without further mechanical tests? Would I see anything weird on the PFC readings?
  21. I never really thought about that. Always assumed that a higher gear = lower rpm, lower injector throughput, lower boost = better fuel economy, less wear on engine. I "feel" that the engine may be more laboured, but don't know enough about engines to explain why??
  22. Hi guys, on my R34 GTR I usually get 280kms per 50L on BP98. I drive the car pretty conservatively eg., 60 km/h in FIFTH GEAR. Hardly ever over 4k rpm or on boost in city driving, which is 99% of the miles. Mods include: GT2860-5s, PWR 700cc injectors, powerFC+boost controller, pod filters, cam gears, dump/split pipe, hipower catback, etc. The turbo and bigger injectors only went 2 months ago. The fuel economy (or lack of) existed before the bigger injectors went in though, so it's not them. I also keep the engine well lubed with 300V filled to the line. The cars only done about 55000 kms. I thought it must be the O2 sensors, but from reading my PFC hand controller both of the sensors seem to have fairly responsive voltages (though they read different voltages - is this normal?). I took it to my mechanic and he took a day and $200 to clean the sensors and re-dyno and tune to as lean as is safe an AFR, optimising for cruise speeds. He said the sensors are a bit off with their readings, but wouldn't recommend replacing them as they certainly aren't dead. This however only increased my fuel economy from 280 to 300 km per 50L - still crap. Dunno if it's related but the boost readout on the stock MFD occasionally shows 0 boost no matter how I drive, despite no change in the boost readout on the PFC hand controller. Guess it's a boost sensor thing. My mechanic doesn't think this is related, but is also at a loss to explain the crap fuel economy. Any ideas from any here? Thanks very much guys.

    Advice Needed

Ugh.... the supercharger whine gives me a migraine. Twin turbo magnas sound much better. 11 sec and 505hp at wheels from a FWD whale is not too bad. Back in the day I had my magna, I was seriously saving up to have it twin turbo'd by RPW from WA. Would've cost around 12k I think.
  24. Ram raid is when you drive cars into shop windows and steal things. Touge is driving on mountain passes a la InitialD. Dori dori is drift. Obviously you don't watch enough best motoring NFI what drive by chops means.
