  1. go the half cut for sure. and grab a whole diff/rear end as well you wont regret it and you sell the bit you dont want off the half cut later meggala there are a number of importers in wa ring around but wait for a good half cut and ask for a comlete one including brakes evry thing
  2. and joel you will find the ecu on that car has probably had the timing reduced to run more boost as it has gtr injectors as well thats why primo could run more timing meggala
  3. yeah and the fact you make the power with much less boost. boost = equivilent of raising compression ( not totalaly true but to give an example) take adam 32's t04 @ 8 psi he is probably making 160-170 rwkw cheers
  4. joel I think its possible but!!!!! not with a small turbo if you went to a t4 and had a thicker head gasket yes but you would be running lower boost. the set up would cost more than the 10 cents a liter you would save unless you plan on keeping the car for a long time. I think tuning a car to run on 95octane is very possible but regular ulp would be a bigger ask as the ron drops to 89 or so some times meggala
  5. hey phil I have done it power figure well It hasn't been properly dynoed. I ran at calder @ . 7 bar and it ran a 15sec 1/4 but the mph was 96 @ 1 bar with tuning I reckon around 102 mph and a 13.8 or so. your power of 173 rwkw is about what it should have made . cheers meggala
  6. yeha the boost gauge is in the right hand vent
  7. got heaps I'll mail them to you
  8. he is here :uh-huh:
  9. yes you have a weak link in your bosot controll and ebc would be a great addition and provide stability reliability and a quick spool of the turbo. that should be your next mod meggala read some of joels posts he got one and it made a big difference
  10. joel I dont like the way you have done your fuel pressure bleed its very one dimensional. for $250 more you could have an s-afc which would give you much better tunabilitiy. meggala
  11. I'm with just cars they are owned by aami so are big and I have heard no problems with claims. btw do you get out in the west of melb much I think I saw your car on dynon rd a couple of days ago meggala
  12. then roy you are on the right path. dont stress about the plenium till you get your new motor the rb25 is a better option than the rb30 as it revs better. sounds like fun meggala
  13. of course you should roy there are a number of mods needed to fit an rb 25 to a r32 remember that heater hoses etc. teh r33 ecu is more compatible. one thought is to buy a stuffed rb25 det and put in gtr pistions and possibley crank & rods then you have a good basis for 250 rwkw kw all day every day the rb20 can give you that type of figure with out going for the full forged rebuild. you could probably see 220 rwkw on the track for longer races. oil cooler is nessacary. think long and hard plenium is really essential and the money could be spent else where just my thoughts. meggala
  14. the only reason to go neo over r33 rb25 is klms as they are generally less the r33 has an easier power fc route and alot of other reasons for getting it and you should also considewr an rb25 det gear box meggala
  15. nah the guy with the steam powered car sold the patent to an oil company for millions
  16. I really doubt that Roy in europe they sell 98 octane and were selling heaps of it. meggala
  17. prices might go down but I doubt it the govt gets vry possessive about money. whats the future then I think morgs is right in 10 years + we will see the internal combustion engine being phased out electirc cars may be but more likely hybrids or hydrogen powered cars . they will be slow at first but over time will become faster F! might even change to a different fuel. in europe you can drive a pertol car for the first few years of driving in some countries you need to drive a diesel. so with young peple being whatthey are they are modding them with good results 180 hp out of a 2.0 liter turbo diesel that only revs to 4k rpm yeah. I can see a place for car like hybrids and hydrogen and lets face it in peak hour traffic you really only need a 1 liter engine. hope fully the new fuels will be clean meggala
  18. great pics really good. and some interesting stuff meggala
  19. this is a possiblility with war in the mid east possible. what do you do down grade from that t88 you were ordering to a t66 and get a s/hand micra with the change . sell the skyline cause you cant afford that much juice. wind down the boost a bit. don't give a fly f........... wind up the boost for shorter periods and get the T88 any way. me I'll be keeping the line and drive how I always have. when it gets to $2.50 a liter I'll consider getting something cheaper to run. I have paid 1.80 a liter for a while in europe and it wasn't to bad you just dont drive as often. meggala the story with the article http://theage.com.au/articles/2002/09/24/1...2734156712.html
  20. pity its so far away I wouldn't mind going those small tracks are great fun and the meeting should be good meggala
  21. yeah thir optimal boost range is 1.2-1.4 for those turbo's
  22. ritchie at least 220 rwkw probably 240 may be 250 it depends onthe boost meggala
  23. great mph cam that show 12's are possible. th old vg30 turbo is turning out very well. and the 60' time tells the whole story you are really getting there. shidft will come with practice and consider doing testing with a 2nd gear launch yes I know its sounds silly but one less gear change could help quite a bit. thats excellent now Ihave something to aim for meggala
  24. Ok I thought I would start this cause quite a few of us have issues with the launch at the drags especially. what can you do and whats a low cost way of getting a good take off. we are only discussing using street tyre's in this thread. my thought. I think pinapples will help set up the geometry for traction. after market hard shocks don't help so a set of stock rear shockers might be the go. the other issue is tyre profile and pressure. I'm thinking 20 psi with a 50 or 45 series on a 16 " rim might be the way to go. which tyres hook up well I'm looking for clues. lets keep this low budget type stuff and see how we can go . getting a rear wheel alignment might help. has any one here got a 60' time below 2 seconds with a gtst on street tyres? meggala
  25. zero you goals should be achievable you ccan get daughter board for the sr's but I would allway keep the s-afc if you not going power fc. chiptorque do ecu mods as well. as for turbo up grades think stock or hiflowed stock for reasonable power . think t3 or bigger for awsome power. cheers meggala
