  1. My father in law has a mint condition XB GT that he's owned since new (drove it from the showroom) it's a fricken beast and will be worth quite a bit in the not too distant future, it's already worth a bit now!

It's great if you spill it on your paint while filling up too
  4. I looked at SSV when deciding between the 32 and a Supra, It's a long drive from Melton to oakleigh so I called them first and asked if I came down could I test drive it as I'd never driven one before, I got asked if I was seriously going to purchase the car to which I replied yeah but not if I don't like the way it drives and he said ok. I got there, the car was ready, one of the dudes jumped in the back and I took it for a 5 minute drive. It was a nice car but was a 93 and I wanted later model if going a supra and it also had a clunk in the suspension, so I said thanks but no thanks and left. They didn't really kick up a fuss or anything. I ended up going to GTA to get the 32 as they were the only place in Melbourne that had VSpecII's in stock. I drove the 2 they had, one was an absolute cop of a car the other one I bought. I had quite an experience buying from them and because of the events that happened over the 4 weeks I would NEVER buy from them again and couldn't really recommend them either. They have some nice cars, but..... If you want the story, PM me. That is all
  5. I knew there was an RB26DE made and it wasn't just a one off! Anyway, OP what are you going to do now?
  6. well it's all in and been working great for the past couple of weeks. Interestingly I don't get the plume of black carbon and smoke at 4-5000rpm I used to get with the stock airbox, also the car feels more responsive on the throttle. I pulled the entire stock airbox out (naturally) but left the intake that feeds the airbox that comes from the front bumper up into just under the passenger side headlight. It's now forcing cold air into it though. I took off the resonator box that it normally feeds from that sits in the bumper, this was a sealed box interestingly, so that went and I took out the round plastic tube and cut it down a little so I could turn it around to face the front of the car and it feed cold air from the factory hole in the bumper. Free CAI for me
  7. +1 for NIStune. Do it! Best money you'll spend on your 32. Consult cable is good if you get the software as you can log and bring up digital dashboard with just about every gauge you can think of, even injector duty cycle. Plus you can then run it like a diag PC and knock out cylinders for testing and get ECU error codes etc.
  8. wow! just what I was looking for in my next program, WOODGRAIN!!!
  9. Solution for the long term is to ditch your $50 supercheap trolley jack and get one with a decent sized plate and rubber on it. That way you are apreading the weight over a larger surface area of the rail and less likely to bend/crush it. I jack mine up on the cross member usually but if I need one whole side up I go off the rail, I;ve never had this issue.
  10. Basho, he's got an RB20 gearbox, not same as a R34 GTT. But you are on the right track still, Syntrax is "especially designed" for transaxles with hypoid gears but can still be used. It has a higher viscosity range than Syntrans. Either way the Syntrax and Syntrans are usually around $20-$25 per L so not really cheap when compared to VMX-80 or Multitrax. Main problem with the synthetic oils is their low temperature gear changes, they are a little stiff in the morning and take a few KM's to heat up and change smoothly. Either way you still need to fill to the right level, car on level ground (so up on 4 stands or ramps, or on a hoist or over a pit) and fill from the drain hole until fluid starts to dribble out. In fact I think on the RB20 box you can just take out the gearstick from in the cabin and fill from in there. Over filling it won't hurt it at all, the gearbox has breather on it and the expanding gasses and oil will just vent through them, stinks like hell but that's about it. Oh and DON'T GET TRANNY FLUID ON YOU! IT WILL TAKE WEEKS TO GET RID OF THE SMELL!
  11. Despite the screen name, Birds is a dude lol
  12. hmmm, wonder how long it will be before someone installs a home made hydrogen setup in their car....
  13. My VSpecII has the same skirts and front bar, as far as I know they are Nismo items but I also have the front bonnet lip and boot lip. Maybe they were optioned from Factory like that I dunno.
  14. spotted burgandy 33 on Bondi Rescue 3 minutres ago lol

    Is It Legal?

don't see why? you would just load the stock map in and you'd be fine. They aren't allowed to pull parts off or apart on your car.
  16. yeah it would have been good but I had stock airbox and K&N in for GOR. Oh and just for sh1ts and giggles, since i've had the pods on, car no longer blows black carbon smoke out the back and it also feels more responsive in the right foot department. Might need to get it on the dyno and see if it's making more power. I had no problem with the airbox except that the top crease in it was rubbing on the bonnet and has worn into it. That and I wanted sucky noises from my engine back. I like sucky noises...
  17. hey Ash they did make an RB26DE you know but like you said, not in the GTR so you can't use it anyway. OP why on earth would you want to ruin the GTR with a crappy engine? Fair enough it's your car and your money but you won't be able to legally drive it anyway so you may as well sell the RB25 and use the money to buy the 26 a new head then hope you don't get caught (not likely seeing as it's a GTR) Or butcher the GTR totally, put the front end on your GTS take the wheels, brakes and hubs too, cut the rear guards off and weld em up onto your GTS, then become a paid member, come on a cruise and wonder why everyone keeps moving their cars when you park near them....

What for? it's not very good for your engine if you use too high a dose in your fuel. Just buy an octane booster (same stuff) or run 98 octane fuel. You could try the fuel depot's but I don't think they sell it anymore.
  19. Repco or Bursons (I forget which one) can get it for you by order.
  20. +11ty for the Apexi Power intake.

    Is It Legal?

on the ECU, wouldn't a chipped stocker be ok? if I rip the mines plate (or what ever sticker etc) off of it they are not going to know it has a NIStune in it.
  22. I said Australian Market not Australian made. As said in an earlier post Evo's have HID's and no washers and they are Aus market. If the washers are there to get dirt off then why would they not be a requirement on all headlights and not just HID's.

    Is It Legal?

with the injectors, just get larger ones that are the same colour and you'd be right I would have thought. Or just cover em in grease and dirt so you can't see what colour they are
  24. ^^^ LOL!! I don't mind it, but agree that the rear end is butt ugly (pun intended)! Badge is a pretty unique idea, I like it. Sorry Chaaaaaaaaarrrrrrrrrliiiiiiiiieeeeeeeeeeeeee, here have a babana king
