  2. If you leave it too long the over heating will warp the head which will cost more to fix
  3. i too am pondering this problem too start up when cold (tassie, under ~10°c) - 98% iac valve, rough for 5-10 secs then all good (iac decreased in %, read off an ecutalk display) start up cold in qld - starts, sits on 1200 rpm and 98% iac for a few secs then off we go i have taped my coilpacks with self amalgamating tape (rubbaweld) and new o2 sensor
  4. pk test i think
  5. pretty sure they could do 34 neo head too if you sent it to them... how is the engine looking mate? still in the stag? head off yet?
  6. Hey guys got a pair of pirelli tyres, pretty good tread depth they were taken off a merc because 4 new tyres were fitted (only 2 of the set were actually worn hence having 2 good ones left) perfect fitment for r33 stockies i believe chasing $150
  7. i'll have to sit down with my mate who does carbon work and work out the price i'd say materials would be around $100 mark (1 sqm of carbon + resin) then add labour on top (this would be a bit, there is a fair bit of work to get the initial one done) those are some eyelids i made for my corolla (got a bit bored lol), not too game to do it on the stagea due to the plastic lenses (if someone donates some headlights to the cause i can knock some out tho i don't think roof rack covers will be possible tho, too complex
  8. its on my to do list along with many other things
  9. i'd get the deatschwerks fuel pump http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/DeatschWerks-300-LPH-Fuel-Pump-In-Tank-w-Install-Kit-Similar-GSS342-NEW-/310350325524?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item4842522714 same size as stock, 300lph and cheaper than an 040
  10. pretty sure the rules are: fit ALL stock emissions gear -> no emissions test leave stuff out or change the setup -> emissions test
  11. hey guys I've got a bit of time to play around now that uni has finished for the year I've got a mate who plays around with carbon a fair bit (makes model yachts) Who would be keen on a carbon dayz replica? (you need a dayz front bar for this) (the bit under the number plate)
  12. or just fill there then litres / kms * 100
  13. for about $160 +postage you can get the deatschworks fuel pump http://www.ebay.com.au/sch/i.html?_nkw=deatschwerks+fuel+pump&_sacat=0&_odkw=detchworks+fuel+pump&_osacat=0&_trksid=p3286.c0.m270.l1313 and http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/DeatschWerks-300-LPH-Fuel-Pump-In-Tank-w-Install-Kit-Similar-GSS342-NEW-/310350325524?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item4842522714 same size and stock (apparently, thats on a c34 but i believe that m35 uses the same size) but 300lpm and a higher pressure than the walbro pumps

  17. 3m sell a nice blue calliper paint super easy to use too
  18. the awd sump has different bolt pattern and oil pickup so you need to get an adapter plate rips sell them, as do a mob in melbourne i think, there are a few about some need external feed for the oil pump, some come with one that bolts in and around cheapest option is probably pulling the motor out yourself, take it to a machine shop and go from there, just no way of knowing how bad it is till its open (and a pro inspects everything) i'm back on the coast now if you want to chat, to be honest i've never built a motor but i've spent enough time reading though the forums to get a pretty good idea of what can/cant/should be done and rough costs you can keep vct on an rb25/30 and its great if you can, r33 heads can be modified to keep vct really easily, neo heads seem to need an external oil feed cost of the 4wd sump adapter is about $600-900 i believe its a bit old but: http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/topic/259282-gtr-rb30-sump-adaptor-plates/
  19. tamar marine or other equivalent hobart chandlery they have heaps of sizes, all stainless for about $10-15/clamp and they are the good bolt ones, not worm gear ones
  20. Yup. Gundagai to Newcastle around the back of syd.
  21. BP ultimate + manual box = 9.635 l/100km
  22. just casually drove from melbourne to the gold coast in 2 days best fuel consumption (off bp ultimate funnily enough) was a staggering 9.63562753 l/100km
  23. well if anyone of the NEO ppl were hesitating about doing it, there is no excuse now http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/NEW-3-Wire-Universal-Oxygen-Sensor-O2-Easy-Fit-Kit-/120737660086?pt=AU_Car_Parts_Accessories&hash=item1c1c867cb6#ht_3120wt_1244 i bought the r33 one and cut the plug off (tried to be tricky and pull the pins out and swap them but they are slightly bigger in the r33 plug) wish i had seen this, looks like the same sensor but cheaper again! with the r33 sensor installed i got under 10l/100kms on the drive from tas-gold coast (yesterday)
  24. called bearepairs basically as follows: him:"we don't touch the tierode ends to do an alignment" me: "but you said you inspected everything under it" "oh yeah, wanna bring it in and check it all again" "yeah" (slightly summarised) fingers crossed they don't jew it up this time, heading up to the boat this arvo so keep an eye out of me between melbourne and the gold coast
